Why are the roads and buildings clearly built for humans when they're all cars? Why are there diners and farms? What the fuck?

Even weirder is that the dinosaurs existed and the rest of world history happened as well but with cars even before cars existed.

I was okay with the first movie but the 2nd one threw me for a loop. I didn't even watch the third and don't think I want to.

You definitely don't. At first it seems like a return to form after the second one's detour into spy territory, but Lightning is shafted for a new female character who is ultimately better than Lightning.

I hate this young guy (now minority or a woman) who is as good as or even better and who inherits from the old, wise hero and the hero lets it go storyline.

Even someone expertly trained in hand to hand combat would be unequipped to defend themselves or their property from rabid swarms of morons. Guns are the great equalizer. With a gun a you have a chance in a 1V50 situation.

first movie is charming fun. It was directed by Lasseter/Joe Ranft and made before Disney bought Pixar in 2006. Worth watching

it was a movie for kids, just like Toy Story, Bug's Life, Monsters Inc and Finding Nemo beforehand. It's true that The Incredibles was aimed at slightly older audiences, but that's only because an outsider directed it

There's a predominating theory that the cars universe takes place in a post apocalyptic for humans America after a freak nuclear war and asteroid which basically wiped out all humans but at the same time imbued their spirits into mutated cars who now live and inherit the Earth.

Cars are the fat humans from Wall-e. They rebuilt the planet but now everyone is a fat cyborg car hybrid. It all lines up as Wall-E and Cars have a lot of indicator they are the same world.

Ah yes, the theories that exist because the "Pixar is the bestest studio evar that can do no wrong" fanboys were mindbroken by the idea of John Lasseter making a dumb kids movie with a redneck Larry the Cable Guy tow truck.
The movies that are difficult to work into autistic "Every Pixar movie is the same universe because of easter eggs" timeline theories about how the toddler from Monsters Inc is a time traveling Scottish witch that created all the talking animals. Or how the scare crisis in Monsters Inc was the result of the disgusting postapocalyptic mutants running out of places to go back in time to scare regular humans in. Or how the talking bugs in A Bug's Life living in a pretty nice rural location with healthy trees and plants are totally slumming it out in the human-free garbage wastelands of Wall-E.
Yes, Larry the Cable Guy Towtruck slaughtering the entire human race is a perfectly logical conclusion to come away with from watching the Cars movies.

The Pixar Timeline Theory was a widely spread "Edgy fantheory meme" several years ago that went mainstream enough that people kept bugging people at Pixar about it that even now still has people trying to contort their brains into a pretzel trying to figure out how the afterlives seen in Coco and Soul can co-exist or how Good Dinosaur and Onward can fit in.

    >Why are the roads and buildings clearly built for humans when they're all cars?
There are no curbs on any of the roads in town, just pure side-drive/wraparound driveway.
    >Why are there diners and farms?
The diner's a gas station and ethanol and other biofuels largely come from crops.

I like it because it's the only kids movies Pixar actually made. It only exists to entertain stupid kids and sell toy cars. The perfect trilogy. NEver saw Cars 2 or 3
