Did you even watch the show? His mother was trying to be involved with him, but he was being a moody shit. And they never showed ANY relationship with his father, but it's implied they were close. To the point his father asks Tony to keep him away from their business.

Honestly the worst thing about Tony's reign was inability to correctly politic and get everyone on his side. The war with NY would've been much different with Richie, Ralph, Mikey, Tony B, Feech, Furio, and a Chris that felt appreciated and therefore sober and therefore the fricking terminator he should've been (he was sober when he shot that dude while in car driving away)

              [...]
I think one of the dumbest things Tony did to one of his people (kind of) is beating Zellman with a belt in front of that russian hoe. It literally nearly costed him is marriage and it add fuel to the fire that was the tension between NY and NJ also Zellman wasn't a bad guy, having someone with those kind of connections is worth millions, at least with Richie or Ralph they were complete psychopath buttholes, Zellman wasn't a complete psycho like that (just corrupt as shit)

don't forget he also explicitly claimed he was intending to eventually make it so that all communications between him and the rest of the family would go through Christopher - I forget if this was season 4 or 5. it quickly flames out because Tony is controlling as hell and constantly second guessed Christopher and Sil's decisions, but the idea was definitely in his head to pass the buck if possible

Nah, tony being a prick was why ralphie went the way it did. He doesn’t know how to appreciate guys unless they’re completely kissing his feet. It’s why he butted heads with Chris so much once Chris started to better himself, despite grooming him, and doing a shit job of it. Chris showed promise and was attempting to get a legitimate source of income going which would’ve helped tony tremendously. Tony kept shitting on ralphie and just taking and taking despite how much money ralphie was bringing in. He’d rather tolerate rat opportunists like Paulie just because they kiss his ass and completely submit. He was a bad leader through and through.

I'm pretty sure it very obvious, but Janice was definitely trying to push Richie to whack her brother, right? I mean at least in a kind of subconscious subtle way, after she kill Richie and Tony came to the rescue she had a kind of change of heart?

Janice, as much as she the most hated character on the show, was brilliantly written. SHe didn't have a change of heart, she skedaddled because HER ass was on the line. And yes, she was pushing him, because she wanted to take Carmella's place. Remember the house? Better than Tony's? Janice was all bile, resentment and jealousy, because Tony got it all, and she got a moronic kid and a string of loser boyfriends.
She would have pushed Bobby, had he not gotten killed. She wanted to be the bosses wife, not a lower rank.

he didn't side with him against Richie though, it's not like Tony knew Davey owed Richie money.
Tony was pissed at Richie because Richie ruined the executive card game by busting in and being an all around mood killer. He wasn't in principal against Davey having to pay and is more than willing to frick the guy over alongside Richie when he fails to pay both of them.

Ritchie literally tells Tony Davey owed him, which made it worse now that he owed Tony. Which Tony warned him about. Tony DID side with Davey, because he told Ritchie to back off, and that he'd get paid after Tony got paid back.

That's less siding with Davey than pulling rank though. it's not that they didn't squeeze Davey dry, it's just Tony used his status as boss to move to the front of the line.

its definitely suggested he's gay, but maybe not raped. 1) theres a few awkward homoerotic comments made by him and others about him. i recall someone stopping short of making a gay joke about him being in jail (i mean why not just tell the joke? -- its supposed to let the audience use their imagination). 2) at least one aspect of his sexuality is specifically made a point of what with putting a gun to janice's head. on top of that tony makes a comment that janice is an odd choice for him because shes ugly, "theres hotter guys in the can". odd choices referencing his sexuality and preferences. 3) cherry on top, no pun intended, BAM, is him having a gay son. combine all that with his constant frustration and anger, and you have a closested gay character.

It's a subtopic of the whole "decline of the mafia" theme of the show. The guys who get out of jail are even pettier than the main crew, which is shown to have a lot of difficulty adapting to modern criminal enterprises without doing things like dealing drugs or just feeding clean, lucrative businesses with blood money.
Richie leaves the can and immediately beats up a local mob associate to set up a protection racket, Tony B has his internal conflict about the civilian life but soon goes back to making hits (something that would require you to be on point with your skills, which is why he fumbles it), Feech also goes local and starts shit with the gardener for measly money. Phil was more cunning and his aggression was convenient at that point because NY's relationship with NJ was going downhill after Carmine Sr. croaks anyway.
None of them try to establish any new, cleaner rackets that didn't require constant killing and are related to higher-level corruption, like the HUD scam.

            >Richie leaves the can and immediately beats up a local mob associate to set up a protection racket,
No, he was trying to get back what was his, before he went away. Tony took over his deals, like with Beansie. His whole conflict was he wanted to go back to work, and get back what was his, and Tony didn't want to give up the cash. Why give it back, and get pennies on the dollar?
            >None of them try to establish any new, cleaner rackets
They weren't allowed to. Actually watch the show. Ritchie wanted back in, and Tony kept telling him to lie low. That was the conflict. Tony didn't want to give him anything back, and let him starve on a shy in his clubroom.

Women don't care to peg other men. They only do it out of obligation or on the request of the man in the relationship. Don't get me wrong they see the fun in it and they do enjoy it to some degree but they don't actively seek it out unless the male says they want to try it. I mean why would a woman do something that doesn't give her any physical pleasure or ego boost (and no a woman sticking a dildo up a guy's ass isn't an ego boost for them, they get their ego boost from being desired and lusted after)

I think Janice and Livia are the two characters I hate the most out of any story
Maybe Kai Winn would be a third but at least I don't feel literal anger thinking about her
With Janice you think she would change, you think she would realise how much of a fricked up person she is but she doesn't
    She just gets worse
I love it how Tony doesn't care that she was beaten

What was Patsy doing here? His gun was already loaded in the previous scene, why would he struggle with it before dropping it in the pool?
