Council cucks believe family holds Ricks back.

      >Council cucks believe family holds Ricks back.
Which is nonsense because we saw elsewhere they were arranging for Mortys to be born so killing families that could produce Mortys would be counterproductive.

To be fair, this was presumably before any Morty’s had been born yet

Nothing more complicated than what you saw. Killing Rick's entire family is how Rick responded to rejection.

He got pissed off that Rick said he was a different kind of Rick and Rick took that as Rick saying he was a better Rick than Rick so Rick killed Rick's family out of spite

It can't have been for security because there are literally infinite Ricks. Killing one Rick would not protect you from a Rick/s.

there's a finite number of rickverses

There are canonically an infinite number of Ricks. It's been said many times, more consistently than anything else about the infinite universes. The CFC was shown to be a collection of universes that the council was actively linking together. It was a finite (though ever-increasing) number of universes because each one was linked through manual Rick labor. I know Evil Morty said that they were "all of the universes in which Rick is the smartest person in the universe", but I wouldn't take that too literally. He was monologuing.

One thing i'm wondering about the CFC, and that's Dofus Rick from Season 1. Since the CFC is every universe where Rick is the smartest person alive, does that mean that everyone in Dofus Rick's universe is moronic? Or does that just mean its a universe where there are people who are close to being as smart as Rick since he's not as smart as the others.

It really depends on how the show decides to defile that particular bit of canon, but the comic showed that Doofus Rick’s world was more or less the same, he was still the smartest but his personality was swapped with Jerry’s.

There's no evidence that Doofus Rick is any less intelligent than the other Ricks. He's just not an butthole.

I think he's just the nicest Rick who is kinda goofy and therefore bullied by the meaner ricks.

so long as there are a finite number of linked universes killing a rick within that finite number has a tangible effect

Unless that finite grouping was completely meaningless. It was just a sand castle built by a group of Ricks and its destruction doesn't mean anything to the infinite universes. It only meant anything to the viewers because we were in that subset.

    >loner butthole Rick joins a coalition of Ricks in order to get access to resources and technology
    >gets called on to do a chore for them and recruit a new Rick for the group
    >target Rick refuses and acts all high and mighty and like he's the cool loner
    >frick this guy and frick this job
    It was definitely spite.

We don't really know if it was him. The fact that the bomb dropped out of a portal implies it's someone else. If it was unambigiously meant to be him, then it would have shown him do it in person.

By doing it remotely it shows how little he cares. We see Rick do that shit all the time.

It's classic misdirection. Rick had a conversation with alt-Rick that went badly (and by the way, the season 5 finale does imply the circumstances and the conversation itself is different from the season 3 premiere), so as a result it is a natural assumption alt-Rick sent the bomb. However, because there is an infinite universe with infinite possibilities and Rick having countless other enemies, we can't know for sure it was alt-Rick.

    >thinking he actually did it
They love to shit on lore stuff like this, so don't be surprised when it turns out Rick accidentally blew his own family up, erased his memory of the event, and then sent himself on a wild goose chase with a fabricated memory of what happened to bury his guilt.

He wasn't trying to kill Rick's family. He was trying to kill Rick for being a sentimental deviant.

You remember how Ricks were pairing Beths and Jerrys to make more Mortys? I think he invented portal tech and started recruiting Ricks. And if they didn't want to join his plan of "the infinite Rick" community, he would force them into it. And yeah, he was being a dick because Rick blew him off. He set Rick on the portal track by killing his family, also because he didn't like Rick being sentimental and loving his family over wanting to join.

Do you think Rick encountered him more times between the recent episode and this flashback? He was at least able to figure out his home universe, maybe he ran into him a few times in the past too.

I'm guessing not, seems like the whole point was that he was impossible for Rick to find up until he got his chance now. He found his universe, but just took his place in the family hoping he'd come back I guess.

I hope they never give this character one iota of emotional depth. He should just be a shallow, interdimensional giga troll.

Interesting to note that nobody ever mentions that Rick isn't the most intelligent man in the universe, only a subset of the infinite multiverse sectioned off as the "central finite curve". I want to see the universes outside the curve, where Evil Morty went. I want to see a universe where Rick is an average midwit who has trouble changing the oil filter on his car instead of being the central pillar of his universe.

To narrow it further, in Tales from the Citadel it was mentioned that all the Ricks there have the exact same IQ.
