      This (and ended badly)
They wrote themselves into a corner without realising it and should have waited 5 years to start 'phase 5'.

As it is, they needed 'content' and fricked the job.

This. Endgame was the last Marvel movie of any significance, it's what every movie for a decade had been building up to. I literally cannot even tell you what they've released after that, they're so forgettable.

this was the beginning of the end, they first time they blatantly went overboard

I hoped it was a one off that they'd rectify but they just continued to double down

When i saw this i even heard a few of the skirts in the audience say "are you frickin kidding me". It was the most absurd pandering ever. There is literally no reason any of those characters should have been together

The worst part is they didn't do anything. They just assemble and walk around and....... that's it? Idk maybe the CGI is too messy I can't remember anything about it.

And what's even worse is that Infinity War also had a women moment but it was done more organically and far better. Sometimes it really feels that Russo puts all sources into Infinity War and sleepwalks through Endgame.

Im convinced theres some sort of deal (maybe with blackrock idfk) where they have to meet a certain DEI quota so they're getting it out of the way with shitty characters that no one cares about. Once they hit their percentage they can bring out the heavy hitters with strong charismatic white actors.

    New wave feminism aka misandry
Appearantly shitting on your core audience and pandering to groups that dont give a shit about your product doesn't work out too well.
Funniest part about it is that they saw it happen with the comics and still tried forcing the same garbage into the mcu hoping for a different outcome. Fricking insanity.

    No foresight
Just chucking shit at the wall seeing if it sticks (Like it did with all the previous phases, luckily it didn't)
Feige thought his brand and the MCU were unstoppable, he was wrong

Now his playing catch up and hoping the "break" until the proper MCU movies next year will reignite interest in the franchise

All the previous phases had a big ensemble movie, a big pay off, a big bad to end the "phase"

Phase 4 & 5 doesn't have that, just a bunch of origin movies

add in all the reshoots, the shitty tv shows they're still moving on with, i really doubt the franchise and be ignited into the big billy movies it once was

FF is so far away, it'll be nearly a decade when it's out and they've acquired rights to it, XMEN will be even further out, incompetent to the max

And it'll be competing with Gunns new DCU, whether the DCU is good or bad i don't think it will really matter, it's new and it'll be the new hot thing in the comicbook movies while Cap4 and thunderbolts will be whatever

Unless they fire Mackey and replace him with Stan or Wyatt Russell that won’t be a captain America movie. It’ll just be elderly black dude fighting things he should have no chance winning against but then winning against.

I never really paid attention to the first phase of Marvel but even then I knew it had to do with gathering the avengers and infinity stones which made it easy to understand. I have no clue what the overarching story for the new phase is.
