Only things I can think of are adding some more shading/highlights and maybe tighten up some of the backgrounds because they did feel a little flashy. But honestly? The action was worth keeping most of it.
I felt like the same can be said about the visuals. Even though well made on a technical level, everything seemed to be too busy and colorful to be pleasent to look at
This. They should have just had Kara hunting them down and introduce the other characters in other episodes. Was still a great watch regardless though.
They tossed too many things and had too many quirky characters. When everybody is quirky, nobody is fun.
Couldnt disagree more, normally I hate pilots that hold back on showing anything interesting, but going through the effort of introducing all of them early pays off when you can actually see their different dynamics with eachother and makes me want to see more. The scene with the cat was excellently done and didn't need an entire episode just for that. Is it the most tightly crafted autistically minded script where every scene is there for completely utilitarian reasons? No, but frick you if you think a wacky space show like this should be like that, they're there for the sheer on its face enjoyment.
t. script doctor who sees way too many of these fricking things and is glad to see something different.

Riiiiiight. That's a thing? I can get hired just to tell people that their pacing is good/shit? or as usual I have to suck executive wiener and be buddy buddies with all the HR roasties and producers?
My issue is less on too many characters since rhe idea was to show how hectic a bounty ca be with so many bounty hunters going at it but my issue is more the pacing when they were introduced.
We didn't need for the plot to halt for 6 minutes right at the third half to have a full conversation with the space cat considering g how little screen time he got. Must have been better to just give him a quick intro and Dave thr character dynamic for another ep.
I think the new one fits modern times much better. Shrike's old design definitely stinks of earlier deviantart, all the characters and their actions did at the time.
It's an okay-ish pilot that should have been released as 3 or 4 shorter animations over the course of the last few years to maintain some interest/hype and maybe inspire more independent funding via patreon and such rather than made to be released as a singular "episode" and be met with unfortunately little fanfare.
Animation's good. Designs range from serviceable to good. Audio mixing needs work. Some voice acting is middling but overall fine, proper mixing might fix that problem. Story is "fine," with a few fun or even genuinely clever moments.
Earthworm Jim?
It's the result of years of work and it's got some of the most fun animation we've gotten in independent animation in years.
Story is trash though.
Space Dandy + Furry + Earthworm Jim
I thought it was great for a youtube animation, but he should have cut 15 minutes and improved some minor things

TMNT Rise (the artstyle is very obviously inspired by that).

Is cowboy bebop but indie
Also Mexican Spike because he first animated the characters to a Cheech and Chong sketch.
I really can't tell wether I like his old or his new design more.

Yeah it's definitely more juvenile, although I vastly prefer the old punchy ballistic guns over the unimaginative laser pewpew guns.
EARTHWORM JIM 😀 😀 😀 😀 EARTHWORM JIM
EARTHWORM JIM
EARTHWORM JIM
Funny premise and blessed us with two snail/slug waifus, story and writing was cat shit.

Eh, I liked it.
Good premise, but i feel they merged 3 different episodes into 1
Earthworm Jim's evil twin
