He's basically saying "Kill the shit out of him"

Willard wanted confirmation that that they actually wanted him to kill Col. Kurtz since assassinating one of your own officers is a very, very unusual order and they weren't willing to actually say "kill." The "extreme prejudice" part removed the ambiguity because it means "not only should you kill him but you should make it messy and loud so everyone knows it wasn't an accident"

Prejudice literally means "pre judge". That is, don't think twice. Just kill.

Make sure he can never ever ever command again in any way, shape or form. And the only way to do that is to kill him.

He thought being a glowie would mean a comfy office back home, instead he's sweating his ass off in a tropical warzone trying to keep track of and organize mentally ill children who are fighting their way to either death or more mental illness.

Why was Harrison Ford’s character freaking out during this scene?

Some glowie just walzed into his cozy trailer and ordered him and his boss to hire some dubious macv-sog hitman to whack a high ranking US Army colonel

well, in my opinion it played well with the character, since he may be really unconfortable talking about killing a high ranking officer. But apparently he was really nervious because it was a complex scene with lots of dialogue and he was unsure about the characters and his own lines since he had just recently joined the production

This minor character might be the best casting in the movie. There’s something weird and uncanny about his face that makes him look unmistakably like a creepy spook. He never really introduced himself but you know exactly who he is.

Good point, never realized they don't actually mention he's a spook, he's just so small and creepy you instinctively just know.

the funny thing is he was just some guy on the crew, not an actor. coppola was trying to figure out who to cast for the role and on the spur of the movement got the assistant director to do it.

Wow I had no idea he was the AD. He nailed it. I always like it when unknown people are cast in roles like this.

the whole scene is great, the General talking about Kurtz like he they where actually close friends once, the young coronel being unconfortable talking about killing some of they own, and the glowie confortably eating and smoking like it was just another day in the job

The acting by everyone in that scene but especially from G.D. Spradlin is so incredibly good. I think it might be the best scene in the movie.
