Disney channel was always turbo-normie homosexual shit. I can’t imagine being someone who would watch that garbage over Nick or CN

'83-86. The people who has The Disney Channel were either rich or were seen as spoiled.

What did they have on the channel?

        Anonymous

They ran all the classics, like Snow White, Pinocchio, Robin Hood, you name it, but also all their older cartoons and lots and lots of specials centered around Disneyland and Disneyworld.
Plus they played extended versions of movies that were never sold, like when they played a nearly theatrically complete "The Goonies" minus the Goonies pledge mentioning nuclear war of course because Richard Donner was an idiot at times.

Those first two are what I remember the most. Mickey Mouse Club (MMC), family movies in the evening and cartoons in the early afternoon. Once they went full children's programming though I stopped watching because it really lost that variety feel from earlier years. Which was most of the charm.

That was when they decided to compete with Nickelodeon.

I have fond memories of watching the rebooted Mickey Mouse club in the late 80s. It's rare to find anyone else who even knows about it because it was premium.

    86-97 for sure

It had actual third party content, fun-for-the-whole family, classic disney stuff, etc..

After that it just became tween sitcoms

Zoog Disney killed Disney Channel in 98, well before Nick or CN went to shit

What kind of name is zoogs?

            Anonymous

The original pitch were to be 2D cartoon characters called "Zoogers", which were supposed to be something like the burger king kids club but for Disney. Named zoogers because they lived with an alien called Zoog

It sort of have a weird developmental history.

99-14 if I'm not mistaken that was the time of zoog Disney somewhere in there and that was the only time I really watched much Disney. I mostly tuned in for Lizzie Mcguire and that's because I was in the beginning of puberty and Hillary Duff.

My sister was the disneygay, I was a Cartoon Network Chad who would dabble in Nick from time to time. Imagine watching homosexual shit on Yidsneed instead of PPG, Dexter's Lab, DBZ, etc.

Pre-91 Nick was mainly Tom & Jerry and Mighty Mouse, actually. Looney Tunes first came in 1989 later.

A lot of early Nick is a blackhole that most people have forgotten. 91-92 really made the network
