I thought that the scenes were chronologically and first the american army entered the underground base, at least that's what scenes happened first. Besides, there was no real time. I recently rewatched season 3 and the moment the portal blew up was the moment the american army entered, and within minutes completely invaded the base.

Nah Vecna is the miniboss for this season, with the mind flayer being the endboss in season 5. And Vecna will die at the end. Season 5 probably will be released in 2024 or later, I don't think they are gonna cliffhanger this
