In the comic, the republican leaderships' wives take issue with the republican party losing their majority due to the gendercide, but it's all resolved in one chapter. In the show it's the entire first season and isn't even resolved.
The biggest and worst change is that Yorick actually gets dumped by his gf and she doesn't go to Australia before the gendercide. The entire reason Yorick doesn't go around fricking every single girl he meets on his travel is because while he wants to avoid cheating on her. There's more to it than that that gets revealed later in the comic, but the comic is pretty explicit about why Yorick isn't manwhoring around. In the show, his gf is in the same fricking city when it happens and they even break up. He has no fricking reason not to frick every girl he sees and the show has to depict him as a weird autist who's in denial that his gf dumped him.

In the comics, the focus of the story was just Yorick,355 and Dr Mann. In the series, they removed focus from Yorick and even included the auxiliary characters like their mother and the sister instead of making those surprise plot twist later on.
There were no surprises in the TV series, that is why it was so boring. They also made so many girl-power changes that didn't really help the plot. The show was pretty bad at creating any intrigue compared to other shows which are good at building the overarching mystery of what happened.

The story tends to blue ball u with interesting plot points and then never touches upon it again or returns to it way too late (Yorick's dark past, 355 personal thoughts, what happened to the amazons, what exactly killed all the men)
The author's shtick was that it would run five years, and every issue would advance time one month. The problem was changing points of view. Most of the time we saw things from Yorick's point of view. Sometimes we saw things from the third person. Sometimes we saw things from the point of view of others. If it focused on something over the course of several issues, several months would have passed with the next issue. Infuriating enough, was that we sometimes didn't see what Yorick saw.
I would have been fine not knowing what killed all the men. It was something so stupid.

It's not subtle at all and feels like the show is lecturing you at times. Allison Mann's character (who had to blurt out she's a lesbian for no fricking reason within 1 minute of her introduction, when in the comic Yorick finds out she's a lesbian by walking in on her with another girl like halfway through the comic) goes on this massive rant about how "we lost so many good women" and talks about XXY and all the other chromosomal disorders and about how there are women with y chromosomes and how hecking valid they are to the point you wanna just roll your eyes.

The show also avoided talking about the cause of the gendercide. The comic's first chapter suggests four different reasons for the gendercide. The show presented zero. Now maybe that's because the comic doesn't resolve the cause, and only addresses the aftermath, but I think it's more fun and a better hook if the viewer was wondering if it was the cloning, the terrorists, the cursed relic stolen by the the glowBlack person, or something else.

The show as ultimately axed due to COVID restrictions, but even if it hadn't been, it would have turned out to be shit. The comic is a slog, and most of the characters are completely unlikable. Modern TV writers would have made it worse.

So many easy fixes:
- Don't kill Agent. If you're going to fricking kill her, don't have it be at the cheesiest part

- Let Hero and the girl he got pregnant be the lesbian couple. By the end of the comic, the both of them have been living together for years raising her nephew. Things understandably turn to shit real fast I liked it for that. But creating something like this in the current climate just doesnt work. The amount of times the show has to beat you on the head that "transmen are men" to the point where these scrawny transmen actors in the show kind of belittle Yorick's survival. The comic had transmen, and in fact, in the opening scene Yorick is asked by a random woman if he's a troony. The problem is the show depicts all characters (outside of the evil transphobic daughters of the amazon) as progressive that take "transmen are men" like it's commonplace knowledge. It's not subtle at all and feels like the show is lecturing you at times. Allison Mann's character (who had to blurt out she's a lesbian for no fricking reason within 1 minute of her introduction, when in the comic Yorick finds out she's a lesbian by walking in on her with another girl like halfway through the comic) goes on this massive rant about how "we lost so many good women" and talks about XXY and all the other chromosomal disorders and about how there are women with y chromosomes and how hecking valid they are to the point you wanna just roll your eyes.
The show isn't even brave enough to have someone ask him, "You're a real man?" Like you'd expect a random woman on the street to ask after all normal men have dropped dead and the only remaining 'men' are high-pitched 5'4"-and-under manlet trannies with fake penises and mutilated arms.

Now maybe that's because the comic doesn't resolve the cause, and only addresses the aftermath, but I think it's more fun and a better hook if the viewer was wondering if it was the cloning, the terrorists, the cursed relic stolen by the the glowBlack person, or something else.

This would lead to a series of complex changes in the worlds ecosystems (mostly collapse). Some animals would adapt, and there'd still be animal food sources for the women for a while, but over a period of years, if not decades, many ecosystems would collapse, and all mammals and many non-mammals would go extinct.

- Don't kill Agent. If you're going to fricking kill her, don't have it be at the cheesiest part
- He got back with his girlfriend. Let them stay together. Why does she go for his sister??
- Let Hero and the girl he got pregnant be the lesbian couple. By the end of the comic, the both of them have been living together for years raising her nephew. It would've made sense for Hero to have fallen in love with that girl instead of Yorick getting back together with his baby mama who he had a one night stand with years ago.
Honestly, between Yorick catching Agent 355 and Dr Mann fricking, and Beth ending up with Hero, it wouldnt surprise me to find out that Brian Vaughan has a lesbian cuck fetish. Both of those incidences really did read like "the writer's barely disguised fetish."
