I don't think so at all. Deadpool will crush it.

      What went wrong?

It's not very good and there isn't enough pre-existing interest (ie: star power or prior films) to make people interested.

Hollywood thinks that people are stupid enough to take out a small loan to go see their spiderman-adjacent movies because Marvel did so well, but people forget that Marvel had several strong movies with big stars that drove out a reliable turnout. Marvel's starting to struggle too as they haven't made a great film in some time. (not) Captain America and Thunderbolts is going to struggle unless they're legitimately great films. If neither of them do well, they'll sabotage Fantastic Four.

Deadpool's ceiling seems to be maybe around the $800 million mark. Don't think Wolverine is gonna make much a difference. People are done.

So it'll make more money than any of the other Deadpool movies? Damn near close to a billion dollars?

Deadpool & Wolverine will do well but everything Deadpool touches becomes a joke (hence why you keep him in his own corner), so the MCU loses all emotional investment once Deadpool interacts with it.

Not necessarily. Sofia Coppola loves objectifyung her lead actresses. Alot of women quite like a bit of fetish.

They should have loaded this movie with fetish fuel and made it a campy delight. They might have even made a billion if they did that, and if you do it right you can even have a good story.

If Sydney, Monet and Dakota dressed as sexy revealing as they did promoting this movie/as they usually do on social media in this move, then this movie would have made a billion. What’s up with feminists and women being so hypocritical?

Yes that was so dumb. Trailer was bad and as others have pointed out the character was a literally who that wouldn't have drawn interest, but just sexing it up would have generated significant more interest.

Marketing sucked. This is also a character that's not well known and would have been better off as a TV series or introduced in another movie. It doesn't help that they then blamed men for it bombing.

      Who was in the wrong?

      > It doesn't help that they then blamed men for it bombing.
Obviously you are citing the one of a few articles that linked that quote from Isabela Merced. But that quote was just made up on some random facebook account, it wasn't real. And Dakota/Sydney have pointedly not blamed men or the audience for it failing.

Only one of the girls hasn't said anything about the movie, that I know at least
      >sydney is the hottest girl in Hollywood right now, so she will be forgiven for everything and will easily land a role in the mcu eventually
      >moner just got the hawkgirl role for the new dc universe, so she knows nothing bad will happen to her, so she's playing the victim
      >dakota is a rich nepobaby, so even after all the trash talk and even after firing her agency, she can pay her way out of the blacklist and still get more roles
The black girl is the only one that completely disappeared

    >What went wrong?
The big problem with all these superhero movies, they don't understand that this is a male brand and they try to make feminist movies and hire beautiful women but they're afraid to show them sexy like in the comics books and they also don't like to follow the stories of the comics that have been around for almost 80 years, so having writers who don't know the characters is a disaster that could be avoided. They should introduce each of these new characters in MCU movies and Spider-Man movies.
The costumes are disastrous, especially the masks, the afro doesn't work, as well as changing the ethnicity of the characters in the comics, which audiences hate. The story is pretty awfull. If Sony wants to make peace with the fans, all they have to do is announce Sydney as the new Black Cat, a cute, hot, feminine curvy red Mary Jane and curvy Gwen in the next Spider-Man.

      Anonymous

      >they don't understand that this is a male brand
Oh, they understand. They're simply trying to change human nature and western culture. They want a society where men are subserviant to women, and are trying to encourage women to take on more masculine roles. The problem with that is that women don't want it, and will NEVER want that role, as the male role comes with accountability and responsibility, and those two aspects are like poison to women.

      Anonymous

You are a little wrong though
Old MCU movies were popular with women too because the superheroes men were actually hot and they loved female characters like Black Widow because she was cool and sexy
Girls dont actually like feminist characters, they want to admire STACIES, not losers, plus they want to see Hot white men.

Why do you think Wednesday show did well? It had a literally me the character and she had hot romance interest

There is a reason women are flooding to korean shows now

        > They liked Black Widow.
They killed her off and made her solo movie afterwards, dooming it. They also cucked her by pushing Yelena over her corpse.

        > They liked Scarlet Witch.
They turned her into a mentally moronic cartoon villain and unceremoniously killed her off.

        > They didn't like Captain Marvel.
Marvel pushed her as their lead, removing Natasha and Wanda, whom they deemed expendable, to make her the number one female by default.

This movie could've had the best writing, acting, directing, etc. and it still would've bombed because making a Madame Web movie - not a Spider-Man movie with Madame Web in it, but a movie specifically centered on Madame Web as its main, titular character - is a laughably stupid idea destined to fail. Madame Web is the kind of comic book stupid you don't adapt into a movie, and that's if the character was used properly.

I watched it so you didn't have to:
    >Madame Web's mother was in Amazon and betrayed by a guard who stole spider that gives you powers. She was shot but spider people saved baby.
    >Madame Web falls in a river, dies briefly and begins seeing future.
    >Bad guy sees future and wants to kill three girls who will kill him.
    >Madame Web goes to a BBQ with Pepsi product placement and it is a baby shower and she talks about how her mother died in childbirth (awkward). Baby shower is for May Parker and the baby is Peter.
    >Fire at docks, she sees one of her co workers die in vision and then he dies.
    >Madame Web protects the girls because she sees them dying, there is no real tension and the movie ends up flat as shit.
    >The bad guy keeps saying he has to protect what he built but we told nothing. Everyone is a non character.
    >At one point the girls are in a diner dancing on a table to Toxic by Britney Spears. (Oh I should mention this is a period movie from the early 00s; so we get guy with a PSP, Beyonce first album poster and other things to tell you it is the 00s.)
    >She saves them from bad guy. Then goes back to diner to talk exposition with bad guy but that is a dream. Talks about going to police but can't because one girl was running away, one is illegal and one is rich but parents don't care.
    >Madame Web is suspected of kidnapping the girls but still manages to get to the Amazon somehow to talk to spider person who says "When you take on the responsibility, great power will come."
    >The girls stay with Uncle Ben but Mary goes into labour. Bad guy tries to kill them.
    >They fight near the docks seen earlier in the movie (a line set up it was full of fireworks/explosives) and the bad guy is killed by a giant Pepsi sign. Also she astral projects.
    >At the hospital one of the girls says "[About Ben becoming an Uncle] all the fun and none of the responsibility."
