What went wrong?
watch it and youll find out
No shortstack goblin waifu.
someone rolled a 1.
smug self-satisfied writing, like most steampunk and Dr Who wannabes
Steampunk fans seem to think smug self-satisfaction is funny and good instead of revolting.
this is the most spot-on take yet. with steampunk you ALWAYS know what kind of people you're dealing with.
what steampunk? it's generic fantasy
Keyleth is still a cutie and the best part of the show.
I stopped watching in the first episode when someone barfed in the wolfman's mouth and then he also barfed. Shits gross, I want no part of it.
I tried watching it, but I could tell immediately what to expect when the first line out of anyone's mouth aside from the narrator was a loud fuck followed by a predictably gory TPK.
By the time it got to the tavern brawl where the heroes casually murdered a group of people where nobody seemed to give a shit they were murdering each other in between quips, I could tell this was just some dudes giggling while writing the exact transcript from a home game. While it may have been in the moment to sit down and play such a game, they really needed to clean it up to make something coherent if they wanted to make a story out of it like they did with Lodoss.
The worst part was that for something that's meant to be comedic, there really wasn't anything very funny. The writers seemed to go all in on making the dialogue feel like something that players might say at a table, but that's only funny to the group playing not audiences.
I really hate Matt Mercer and his little theater troupe. All those VAs have basically turned the industry into their own little club with little room for new talent. Gross petty mediocre hacks.
I really enjoyed but I don't know the original.
Its a stupid edgy D&D roleplay sim
I don't know what people expected
Its the subversion of typical fantasy seriousness that makes it funny
I only saw the second of half of the first season with a friend, am i crazy or is the animation a bit lack luster and choppy in a lot of the episodes?
The cast didn't get good introductory episodes. It's like they expected the audience to already be familiar with the characters, but I didn't really feel like watching Critical Role stuff.
All of the information about the characters and the setting, the viewers got was during a semi fast-paced story following Percy.
The story itself was good, but if you have a main cast of 7, you need to give them better focus. It was a 6/10 to me, and I'm still looking forward to the next season.
Basically, stupid edge.
Gore and swearing. Lazy-as-fuck writing.
Literally the only thing that stuck with me was the dragon brutally killing the old female soldier.
Wish the old female soldier survived. She was pretty cool.
