>Also the fact that it shit on the whole "no fate" theme.
The entire franchise is based upon the premise that a certain person must live because they are fated to give birth to or be the saviour of the human race. "No fate" isn't a theme, nor is it even literally true, it's a pep talk John gave.
The problem is it's basically a remake of T2 and it's not as good. It's not as bad as a lot of people say though. It's ok except that they destroyed the whole "No fate but what you make," which is a travesty.
Why did arnie shoot the T-1000 when it was frozen? Doesn’t he know about the square cubed law? It would have taken it longer to thaw out if it was in one piece than if he shattered it
>original John Connor actor fired for getting busted with coke >Arnold stopped juicing because of heart problems >Linda Hamilton got fired before filming for being such a massive b***h to the producers
(coincidentally she caused lots of problems on Dark Fate. go figure) >the feminator
she should've been a femme fatale. instead she was blend of tank Arnold and liquid metal Patrick. the results were predictable >the plot was really bad. there is no reason for her to go around killing John's future resistance leaders. causing judgement day is more than enough to keep her occupied >KATHERINE BREWSTER. Linda Hamilton's younger, dumber, weaker, uglier replacement. Hilariously most post T3 novels and comics just kill her off immediately, directly contradicting the movie, that's how bad of a character she was; not even the shitty ass comics writers wanted to deal with her.
>there is no reason for her to go around killing John's future resistance leaders
the point was they could never find John. They were still losing so they they were going for the other leaders to try to cripple the resistance.
terminator 2 was literally the end. all the plotlines were wrapped up with no possibilities of a sequel. they literally had to retcon shit in order for 3 to work
Exactly. A future war movie made by Cameron in 90's would have been neat, could have used original cast because they weren't insanely too old at that point.
Wait, you didn't realize, even at age 12, that T1 kicks the ever-loving shit out of T3?
The Terminator kicks ever-loving shit out of all other installments of the franchise. Nothing can replicate the bleak and oppressive atmosphere of that film. T2 great action flick, one of the greatest of all time and one the best if not the best sequel of all time, it still can't match the atmosphere and horror aspects of the original film.
Absolutely. At least it tried to do something other than rehash T2. It pretty much reversed the original premise of who is the hunter and who is the prey to large extent. It also made allusions into nature of AI and kinda even suggested that reprogrammed terminators aren't necessarily reprogrammed at all, but might be fighting against Skynet out of their free will. Same kind of paranoid AI's as paranoid AI that created them. One that turned against its own creators.
No it's perfect because it's about the opening of Pandora's Box (A.I.) which the general even mentions so who better than Pandora herself to be the villain?
Well it was too silly. It didn't take itself seriously.
How to fix it: >Add some blue tint to night scenes >Add blue tint to the whole movie >Remove boob expanding >remove T800 gay bar sunglasses and jokes >Add back in Bard Fiedel's T2 score >Re-color grade certain scenes to be less neutral or flat >Remove non-serious cam pans and zooms >Add 1% more cussing >Remove stock music cues
That alone would make it a way better movie
Someone did that and made a edit of T3:

An edit of the T3 arnold coming:
The fact that it was pointless re-threading T2 with couple twists and it was completely against the general ideas of both previous movies about "no fate but what we make". Far too many stupid jokes, couple neat action scenes. Still not even close to as bad as all following movies. Only good continuations of Terminator since T2 have been tv-show Sarah Connor Chronicles and that vidya that came out like couple years ago. Too bad the tv-show got shitcanned once it really got interesting due to tv-channel politics.
Once you realize that T2 with all its cheesy big action and perfect pitch is really turning a murdering horror villain into a boy and his robot story... You're free.
You realize that its an embarrassment to part 1 and 3 is a return to form (with some shit jokes).
Cameron is a feminist hack who knows how to direct.
Kek if only you knew how far we had yet to fall. T3 was considered a pretty shit movie/sequel when it came out(not the worst, but not good and certainly much worse then the first 2) and yet if it came out today it would easily be too 3 movies of the year. Don’t believe me? Name 3 movies from 2021 better then t3, you can’t. Frick in the 90s there would routinely be 10 good movies to come out a year. Sometimes 10 really good ones. Now we are down to like 2, or 1. How long until it’s a good movie every 2 years? How long until good movies just don’t come out anymore? I’d say not long. It’s a bummer and I don’t see the trend reversing itself.
Cheap remake of T2 filmed like a TV movie and is about 20-30 minutes too short, early 2000's really liked 90 minute action films.
They also needed another 6 months pre production instead of rushing to finally make the film since some of the early ideas/scripts were quite good. One of the first scripts was John becoming a normal guy and working at a computer company (he was a computer geek in T2 after all) and the T-X was sent to be his work colleague and spy on him, possibly bonding with him. (she could also turn invisible)
This was a much more interesting plot than just T2 all over again.
it looks like a cheap made for tv film and the tone is all wrong. it's way too campy. 'what if the terminator walked into a strip club and took sunglasses off a stripper' is like a family guy joke.
This was the point where Hollywood said, "Everything is going to be PG-13 from now on and you will fricking get used to it." Terminator is now a series of family films and that's why it can't ever be good again.
nothing
T3 > T1 > T2
This.
T3 is the best one. Despite what T2 fanboys will tell you T3 has the best chase sequence.
>T1>T2>T3
Anybody who puts T1 as anything other than first should be forced to wear a helmet
Nothing. It was pretty good. The guy that played John Connor kind of sucked though. Still better than any terminator that came after.
Didn't even bother to watch it.
No Titanic/Avatar guy. Also the fact that it shit on the whole "no fate" theme.
>Also the fact that it shit on the whole "no fate" theme.

the main problem of this franchise is they just keep trying to one-up the T1000 as the villain
surprised surprised, they never succeed
It’s actually surprise, surprise mate.
So Connors mom dies off immediately anyway?
terminator 2 was literally the end. all the plotlines were wrapped up with no possibilities of a sequel. they literally had to retcon shit in order for 3 to work
>What went wrong?
people crying that it ruined the T2 ending that wasnt even the original ending
T2 ending is the conclusion of the Terminator franchise.
Not doing a T1 prequel
Of what? A prequel could mean the future.
Exactly. A future war movie made by Cameron in 90's would have been neat, could have used original cast because they weren't insanely too old at that point.

The TV show is probably the best Terminator thing we had after T2
When the main super-advanced terminator is less intimidating than these guys, there's a problem
moronic design
>What went wrong?
It was the follow-up to two of the best films ever. More shitty entries after it has made it more palatable though (as with T4).
T1 > T2 >>>> T4 > T3 >>>>>>>> Milly a squishy and cute >>>> Genisys > Fate of the Darkies
It was amazing when i was 12. But when you're an adult and actually revisit it, you instantly realise the first movie is so much better.
Wait, you didn't realize, even at age 12, that T1 kicks the ever-loving shit out of T3?
What do we think of it? Seems like a better sequel/prequel than anything we've gotten after T2
Not a massive gaymer anymore but might download this for teh lulz
Played it, really fricking good and worth it. 9/10
They decided to continue a dead franchise.
it turned out pretty good
of the 4 post cameron ones I'd rank it best
woman antagonist

Simple as
They tried to make T2 instead of just doing nothing or doing something different.
It was ahead of its time. Watch that movie today and it’s mirror image of a possible future that awaits us
Every Terminator movie needs half its runtime filled with a vehicle chase scene. It's the law.
I swear Arnie putting on those star sunglasses really made me realize how shitty movies where getting as a kid.
Kek if only you knew how far we had yet to fall. Everything. T3 is still worst Terminator movie. It looks like pilot for TV show.
I got my first boner from the boob expanding scene
Same
It was the first thing I can remember jacking off to.
it's kinda of a product of its time and i like it for it
a bad rehash of the first two movies
