        I actually liked the first version you posted more, because I think Toy Story 3 was bad enough to be an indicator of the direction the studio was going. That final scene inside the trash compactor (or whatever it was) was too tonally dissonant from the rest of the picture for me, and Lotso was just a retread of Stinky Pete.
        And despite Cars being a Doc Hollywood ripoff, it's still an enjoyable movie, much more than either of its sequels.

        If I cared enough, I'd make my own version of this with Toy Story 1 and Bug's Life on their own row and call it "The Formative Years", because it'd really outline how every new iteration of Toy Story preceded a different era of the studio.

    Shafferillas productions videos caused Pixar to unravel themselves.

          This. I've never watched Toy Story 3 (barely liked the first two as a child) and UP always seemed overrated, bland and moledramatic. It's imaginative bits are a weird addition to a world that doesn't seem consistent with it's own rules... Just a magic sad baloon guy and fat derpy xd child. The dog was whatever as well.

    Steve Jobs died, unironically that as the nail in the coffin. People act like he had nothing to do with Toy Story but that guy was a fricking perfectionist and definitely pulled all the strings on that movie, watch dailies, etc. It was one of his babies, and he literally turned Pixar into what it was. All it did before he bought it was manufacture computers.

    It feels like they completely memed themselves past a certain point. Their early movies were all about very simple premises like "toys" or "bugs", then they made a string of surprisingly emotional movies from Wall.E through TS3, and now it feels like they're just chasing their own tails, trying to live up to this idea of being a studio that makes "meaningful" movies, and it all feels fake as frick.
