I hate what they have done to Pete since Wells took over. Black cat even mentioned everything wrong with him the past several issues, and I have a feeling they are still going to milk this whole "status quo" change.
Is Marvel that stubborn that they had to separate Pete and MJ again, after all the fans were very happy with the direction they were going? Say what you want about the previous run but at least it tried to fix some of the past mistakes in Pete's history. The problem was it was a slow journey. But this run feels even slower and no one likes the changes on top of it.
Honestly in the 5 issues we have had the only thing that has happened is Pete now works for Norman, he got owned by Tombstone, and MJ is a prostitute as usual. I know they are going to do some crazy reveal where it turns out she is not in a relationship with this guy and it is all an act, but no one wants the padding they are doing with her. Just kill her off at this point, did wonders for Gwen's popularity.
Why do I get the feeling this was all a big sales tactic to get people to read Slott's upcoming Spidey book?
I can't help but worry that by the end of next year, Slott will be back on ASM.
