Probably even more evil. They'd be exterminating the solids instead of trying to rule them.

Wouldn't they just be the opposite? At least morally? They would probably be like the federation in a way? Controlling mankind for good instead of evil? Trying to bring law and order to lawless choatic space.

        >Wouldn't they just be the opposite?
No, because being the mirror universe doesn't automatically mean good is bad and bad is good. its a dark reflection of the prime universe.

the dominion wouldn't automatically be good, they'd be born into a worse off universe and since they were more likely to encounter evil people, they'd become more evil themselves as a result. and thus, want to murder the frick out of everyone.

          >Run into more evil people
I agree with this but I could also seem them somehow becoming better people who don't want to resort to that kind of evil. And the dominion has always wanted to bring order to the universe so maybe they would either genocide or enslave everyone for "the better good"

I get where you're coming from and I think it would be cool to see if the dominion was good or not.

I'm also not saying it's not possible that the dominion was good, I'd just think in terms of storytelling the dominion would be even worse. Like the borg in the mirror universe. no way they're good.

That or they would get wiped out or fricked up like the Vulcans did during First Contact. Maybe the Vorta would be the ones to enact genocide upon meeting them?

Your post has me thinking about a mirror universe Dominion where all their solid client worlds seem like peaceful paradises on the surface, but everyone is subtly on edge because they know if they step out of line, a bunch of Jem-Hadar with more spikes than normal are going to show up and slaughter everyone.

Yeah, I imagine a lot of anons decided to never open up a /trek/ thread ever again just like I did. I know they often bring their schizo ramblings and tripgay circlejerk outside of the general but they are really not difficult to identify. As soon as they infest the thread it's best to just abandon it.

nah, I would've been killed pretty early through a much more unforgiving universe.

The Dominion was conceptualised as being an anti-Federation. Rather than just the Dominion BUT MORE EVIL! it could be interesting if they are anti-Federation in the sense they are anti-Prime Directive: they are going around contacting pre-warp civilisations with the intention of uplifting them. Creatively that could also be playing with what we know about the Vorta (or at least the myth Weyoun believed) about the Changelings encountered them as a primitive race. The franchise does not necessarily even have to portray this Dominion as being the 'good guys', as this Dominion could have a white man's burden mentality - or if you like a liquids burden; for or all the good intentions & positive change it does indeed bring it is still an imperialistic/hegemonic power which the Founders rule.

The Terran Empire and Khan have basically already covered the idea but, I think it would be interesting if the UFP encountered in their own reality some Human polity that was not just some 1 planet micro-power and which was 'anti-Federation' without being comically evil. Have it be some very early far-flung colony attempt that spawned into a power, or go a Stargate-esque route of them being descended from abducted Humans. And I am not calling for it to be there to bash the UFP, just that all the powers (Dominion, Borg, Terran Empire) that get styled as anti-Federation are just that evil and/or non-Human as to never really feel as actual meaningful critics or exploration of what the UFP & Humanity are like.

        >or go a Stargate-esque route of them being descended from abducted Humans.
I wonder what the Federation would think of the Sebaceans from Farscape? Nothing positive, at least regarding the Peacekeepers, I imagine. The other thing would be what they think of the Scarrans and the Peacekeeper-Scarran cold war.

Working with the events being shifted as to not be taken place in the 1990s-to-early-2000s, I suppose it would come down to what era of Star Trek. TOS Starfleet in their own cold war with the Klingons or Dominion War Starfleet seem like they would have a very different attitude to early-TNG Starfleet.
