Hated this movie. It was extremely pretentious, especially the ending that was basically "Hey folks, the movie is over! Here's what the message was". Fricking awful.
Personally I took it as a story about the impossibility of creating equality. When the people who were starving one month get to a higher floor they treat the lower people just as badly as they were treated. I think the fact that the protagonist brought the book Don Quixote, a book about a delusional man who thinks he is a great hero, is subtly referencing this theme.
It didn't even occur to me until later, anon, but what evidence do we have that the Asian girl is actually real? The protagonist is badly injured at the end of the movie, perhaps he is hallucinating her and when the platform goes back up, there is no one and nothing one it just like every other day. That would make the whole thing rather Quixotic, wouldn't it?

it would also make it kind of sad i choose to immagine she was real
>whats more of a crusade than helping a small child lost in the world
if he did do it all for nothing that sucks but what you say makes sense when we think of wanting to save something whats the ideal to save the most innocent the most in need of help ect short of a baby and that would break the realism

It doesn't even matter if she's real. It was a futile last stand of defiance that was never going to achieve anything in the first place.

>wrong
and correct
how can this comment be such a dichotomy
Because that's the way of human nature. Communism, for all it's bullshit equality ideology simply devolved into a worse state of absolute monarchy than the regime that came before it.
Atrocious movie. Netflix originals are just the worst and to make matters worse, they're always getting massively high ratings online, coz netflix users are brain-dead and numerous.
>It was extremely pretentious
I hated it but how can a movie pretend to be something? It doesn't have a consciousness.
The movie isn't socialist moron and didn't ramble about anything. It's straight forward rather.
It's more about the prisoner dilemma than anything, and individual vs collective interests, as well as mistrust and lack of long term vision in society and that power invariably corrupts.
Who the frick cares. Why do Americans need to politicize everything. It's a Spanish movie.
Even if it's socialist, who gives a frick. It's a good movie for a debut with some great acting and entertaining dialogue / soundtrack.

i dopnt even think its socialist socialist is a construct we learn about
kindness is something we all understand
and so is tyranny
tyranny is born from self preservation
*people argue so is kindness*
but the beauty of kindness is that it is ubiquitous*
a poor person can be kind but he cannot be a tyrant
>didn't ramble
okay >It's more about the prisoner dilemma than anything, and individual vs collective interests, as well as mistrust and lack of long term vision in society and that power invariably corrupts
oh but so it did ramble then?
Rambling is going off the rails seeing obscure prottie bullshit stories about jesus being reincarnated as a woman that's also Lucifer although the latter never even appears in the bible.
Including a basic b***h first year of high school philosophy dilemma that's not even referenced directly in a movie is not rambling.

Why don't you actually read the Bible before getting this upset about it
Well they did autistically test whether their out-of-the-box designs would actually work irl by consulting guncrafters so yeah it would be /k/ as frick so yes.
also the film is marxist reddit we cant deney that but it speaks to a part of humanity that was emphasised by marxist ideologs
we cant seperate the wheat from the chaff but we can admire this as a kino as much as some anons want to pretend it isnt
>the film is marxist reddit
The film m has that women who tries to encourage the tower to all work together as their point as to why Marxism doesn't work you moron
What the movie wants you to believe >the people down below are the working class forced to live of the scraps from the elites (kitchen staff)
The correct take >kitchen staff is the working class and the people below are welfare shitters complaining that their isn't enough gibs to go around and would rather litteraly die than work
moronic fatso.
The point of the movie is that the way people behave is a matter of power and position in the pyramid, not of intrinsic values. The poor aren't more virtuous, they just have less power to exert evil. Once they go up they do exactly the same as the people on top did to them. Point being that all humans are more or less equally shit, except for the MC that was handpicked for being an idealist to begin with.

What message was that?
Our only hope for equality is the hapa master race

its actualy increadbly wonderfull you mentioned that i forgot about that entirely
>what an excuisite metaphor

also so is the person that brought that book
insert more reasoning here
well played director

thank the film i guess
Because that's the way of human nature. Communism, for all it's bullshit equality ideology simply devolved into a worse state of absolute monarchy than the regime that came before it.
It's literally against our evolution to create equality. The weaker have always died off and not reproduce except now.
Atrocious movie. Netflix originals are just the worst and to make matters worse, they're always getting massively high ratings online, coz netflix users are brain-dead and numerous.

I hated it but how can a movie pretend to be something? It doesn't have a consciousness.
It was pretending to be deeper than it was.
As much as I hate reddit I like pic related's take.
Sounds like the ramblings of a schizo muttoid.
So no different from the basic b***h socialist thematics of the actual film then.
The movie isn't socialist moron and didn't ramble about anything. It's straight forward rather.
It's more about the prisoner dilemma than anything, and individual vs collective interests, as well as mistrust and lack of long term vision in society and that power invariably corrupts.
Too late the socialists took it as a call to their action without having any real grip on the work themselves so it's completely fricked now.
Who the frick cares. Why do Americans need to politicize everything. It's a Spanish movie.

>Acts all pissy about it
What a shit house movie
It's pretty clear even the employees of the prison have no idea how terrible it is.
a sex doll

a belt fed shotgun
>is the only fun answer

>is the most 4d answer

wtf who makes belt fed shotguns
no idea but its so evocative its my trope of the month
Metro 2033.

The film m has that women who tries to encourage the tower to all work together as their point as to why Marxism doesn't work you moron
i might be moronic but im still not incorrect
yoo hoo
What would it take for you to spend six months in the tower?
I would never do that since it's suicide
What the movie wants you to believe

The correct take

siounds like a managerial problem to me a strong leader inspiers
it feels like the "kitchen staff" lack leadership
moronic fatso.

A lifetime supply of hamburgers obviously lol all the characters in this movie are dumb
obvio kino
My fleshlight.
Fun fact: floor placement wasn’t random, it was a direct measure of how selfish you were. The more selfish, the higher the floor.
How come that black guy who worked with the MC and was selfless ended up near the top then?
a gameboy color so I dont get bored
>batteries run out in 4 hours
would you be able to bring batteries in the Gameboy? If so, could you bring a gun or knife in a carved out book?
