How can such a series with decent production value have such a terrible screenplay?

It has a high budget because Amazon didn't have a studio when it was made. The reason HBO can make beautiful looking shows is because they're owned by WB and get full access to all the WB sound stages and the billions of props and costumes that have been lying in storage for 80 years.
The screenplays seem le they were written by 7th graders. My girlfriend hate watched this show and predicted a lot of the dialogue word for word. It's like the show was written by an algorithm.
Got me interested in the books, since the premise sounds interesting. The show however is god awful, they could have cut all of the male mcs for how much they contributed to the story, since the writers clearly dont want to do anything with them and only wank the shitty femcs, who are pretty insufferable
I feel like the show and the book are alluding to something, but what, I cannot quite understand.
The books have the logo of three wheels, but two of the wheels are actually a golden snake biting its own tail - holding the spokes of the third, -actual- wheel still. Is fiction itself the snake that bites its own tail/tale? Holding back the true wheel from moving forward?

i watched the first 5 minutes and i could already tell the vibe was just confident and intelligent feminist characters dealing with dim witted beta males then i turned it off. anyone in here watch more than the first 5 minutes of episode 1? was i right?

I loved the books so I watched the whole thing, but I'm not watching any more of it.
I thought it sucked. Never read the books though.
