v1 of the Protocol Language RFC spec included several trillion different languages curated across the galaxy, naturally many of these languages came from cultures that clashed or warred with one another, but the original designers wisely steered clear of the politics and simply focused on releasing the best & most comprehensive language pack available.
When the """New Republic""" took over, they introduced many laws aimed at sweeping away "problematic remnants" of the Empire, but in actuality they were just using that as cover to solidify and legitimize their own rule, and so in the process even many pre-Empire artifacts were censored. This was deployed in a "mandatory service pack" to all protocol droids registered within the Republic across the entire galaxy.
Of course, there are some hackers out there like our main man Brillby Fneed here who still adhere to the tenants of Stallman and FOSS so it's nbd for them to go back and undo the tampering.
Might be standard to at least have droids that can recognise the Sith language even if they can't speak it. That way if they come across one it can be handed over to the proper authorities without the droid's owner realising the Sith artefact could make them all powerful.
C3PO us the worst droid in the series. His only useful function, translation, is just a program that should come standard on every other droid. Unless you are claiming the bulk of his circuitry is memory which is bullshit.
