I was drinking hard liquor for months after my mother died like 6 years ago and had to be hospitalized, I've not touched it since other than a couple rum and cokes at a party once. I drink a few 9-9.5% ABV tallboys 2-3 times a week these days and it's enough for me. I would probably destroy myself if I went back to liquor regularly again.
