The bike and the city are the coolest shit in the movie

Have you considered that for people old enough to actually see the references when they came out it gets really stale. If you have nobody on staff who can come up with anything cool ( how it is in the American industry) then hire people who can animate cool things instead of regurgitating the same damn shit from decades ago

      Here's a bigger compilation:

      steven universe by far

you can see it's mostly about shrinking the person with no other changes.
It's drawing one pose and reusing it for multiple frames.
It's almost as cheap as animating someone talking about an action scene.

Do Akira fans know to do only one reference or what?

They might have not actually seen the entire thing. Animators don't necessarily watch animation.

TMNT2012 and Marvel's Spider-Man are the worst ones but the Steven Universe one is the most cringe. The fungies one was surprisingly tasteful. Also you can notice they start to become consistently more cringe after Pokémon Diamond and Pearl.

I don’t even hate that his movies are shit and he get’s shilled as some kind of quasi-Lovecraft auteur by the industry, I hate that he broke into the scene with Key and Peele despite all the bits being race-related (which got tired very quickly, even the good ones) and Key having to carry ever episode because Peele couldn’t be funny if his life depended on it

nah Key and Peele was pretty good, definitely better sketch comedy than SNL. You're just a homosexual and hater, and also a whitetoid with a squeaky voice.

Key & Peele was mediocre, even by sketch comedy standards, which are EXTREMELY hit-or-miss.
Even for black sketch comedy shows, Chappelle's Show takes a shit all over most of Key & Peele.

Why are defending Key and Peele of all shows? Besides I praised Key because he was the only one of the pair with any comedic talent doing his best with weak material, you can’t blindly use the “hater” dismissal just because I didn’t care for the show. Also
          >definitely better sketch comedy than SNL
That’s not a compliment or even much of a statement since SNL is not a comedy show by any real measure (i.e being humorous/clever/watchable)

You just need a bike, scooter, trike, or similar to do the slide. Those are common in most settings. You can't really establish a fricking space cannon without major plot implications elsewhere.

I meant in the sense that it's consistent with the animation of the rest of the show, the timing is right and there isn't any weird rotoscoping that makes the bike slide that much jarring unlike other examples.
