I remember something about him dying early this year, like february or march. I think war in Ukraine already started so I didn't paid much attention to him dying because I was busy looking at news about war. I live in central europe so maybe Putin dropped a nuke on me and I shifted to this timeline.

35-50mm lenses are typically considered to have the most natural look.

          Anonymous

that's based on field of view, not accuracy of portraits

which one is the most realistic?

85mm is the most realistic, further away from the camera you are then the less perspective distortion you experience
you can take an accurate looking portrait on an 8mm but you will be so far away from the camera it will be hard to see your face
the longer the focal length, the further you can get away from the camera (which reduces perspective distortion) while still keeping your face in frame

pic unrelated, just a photo i took the other day

            >85mm is the most realistic
i just meant in that image btw, not in general
as long as you are far enough away from the camera you will experience no perspective distortion, a longer focal length just zooms it in so you can get a better frame on the face

        They all are.
So what the person you're responding to doesn't take into account (that most people who don't do photography don't realise) is that the effect seemingly caused by using different lens isn't actually caused by using different lenses.
It's caused by changing your position relative to the subject. So if you touch your nose to a mirror, your reflection will look different compared to if you're 20m away.
Thus, with wide angle lenses, you're getting a distortion as if you're really close to the subject (because you are closer to the subject). And a long lens gives you the opposite. But you can get the same angle with either lens, the difference will be how much "stuff" is visible

When I was a kid I had a surreal and terrifying experience watching a VHS of the special edition of Star Wars: A New Hope with my mom. I believe this was the late 90's (1998?) but I can't give an exact date so I apologize, however I was approximately 11 or 12. Basically we were watching the part of the film where they're in the Death Star. At one point when confronted by stormtroopers, Luke's nose suddenly extended grotesquely into a strange flesh-colored elephant's trunk. It then flailed around making elephant trumpet sounds scaring the stormtroopers off. I vividly remember this, and I was absolutely terrified. My mom was really jarred and confused and trying to calm me down. Leia then says "that's enough Proboscis Luke" and his nose returned to normal. The film also continued on as normal. Every subsequent viewing of our VHS was completely normal, as with every previous viewing. We had already watched the film multiple times prior to the incident so that precludes it being some strange edited copy which would be weird in and of itself.

Not a Mandela effect but I once had a dream where I was 9 and my younger brother was 6 and we were in a car with our mother in a parking lot when she decided to randomly exit the vehicle and leave me to park it. Ok I am not at all sure if this was real, but it is very vivid in my mind. Just this specific portion of the mario bros movie from the 90s. Basically I was lying in bed and I started thinking about my childhood, and we used to watch the Mario Movie a lot (i know its weird n shit, but its one of like two movies we had)
Anyways, I was thinking about a very fricking specific scene in the movie, and I KNOW it does not exist, I have searched every copy of the movie I can muster. But I remember it so well.
Basically, the scene starts out with Mario watering down some sort of alcohol (I believe Jack Daniels) with Milk. I believe it was to dispel a poison or something. Anyways, Mario is watering down the whiskey and Dennis Hopper bowser walks in with those two goombas. He says, "Well well well, If it isn't the italian plumber, sick em boys."
He sends the two goombas over, who hold him against the wall, and unbutton his overalls.
Dennis walks over and says "The dinosaurs need their milk." In FULL fricking seriousness. Mario is profusely sweating, and Bowser rips out his gross ass lizard tongue before sucking down on mario's nipple (It is clearly implied to be this, but the camera angle is weird so you can't see much). Mario is in a lot of pain, but that part is implied since it just cuts off into a hallway. I remember so vividly. I have no fricking idea where this would fit in in the film, I'm just so confused.
I've talked to people who I know also grew up with this movie and they are just in shock. Does anyone else fricking know about this please.

      Anonymous

why are the people in shock? do they remember it too?
the most logical explanation is that this scene was never part of the movie, alcohol, too sexual (taking off his overall, licking the nipple). you either dreamed it since you watched the movie so much or you just imagined it.

I actually think this is what explains a lot of Mandela effects, if there's some kind of iconic image that just makes more sense a different way, people will eventually end up remembering it the more "elegant" alternate way.

Obviously everything about this scene points to her having braces, her nerdy appearance with the pigtails and glasses, her metal smile matching Jaws, etc. It seems very odd for her not to have braces, so you just assume she must have had them.

Pretty much, the actually reasoning for their connection was their height difference. I think there's a line somewhere in the movie where Bond says 'and what about those who don't measure up? Will they too be eliminated?', it was meant to be a pun and a reference to their heights being abnormal in both directions. It just makes so much more sense if it was the braces so you're right, people make that their connection instead

I have seen the same with the Snow White line, "Magic Mirror on the wall who is the fairest of them all?"

Everyone remembers it "Mirror mirror on the wall ..." etc. I have even seen a novelty mirror with the worDs mirror mirror on it, I just think its because it seems to roll of the tongue way better and its unconsciously a more appealing poetic sentence than the authentic line.

When people original make this kind of content they dont have the benefit of hindsight to see the best possible way of presenting said content. But afterwards the 'wisdom of the crowd' seem to falsely remember it in the best most appealing fashion and then the original looks bizarrely to be missing the mark so much so people think the timeline shifted or something.

apparently not, I remember seeing this movie as a kid on TV remember the braces very well. Probably saw it two or three times as well. its one of the most memorably parts of the movie.

Agreed I still remember watching this as kid and once she smiled everyone was like lol she also has metal teeth.

      Anonymous

      yup

Everybody remembers her with braces, mainly because it was the entire point of her connection with Jaws, with them both being metal mouths together, and they make a huge point in her smiling like this, so her not having braces seems weird

The edited version is from a recent (in the last 10 years) commercial.

      Anonymous

      yup

IMDB says: the original release of the movie in theaters, on television, and its subsequent release on VHS, she had braces when they first meet, but she didn't later on in the movie, which created a continuity error. The remastered releases on DVD and Blu-ray "fixed" this error by digitally removing them from the first time the two characters meet. YouTube has a few clips from the television broadcasts that clearly show her wearing braces, as well as clips from the remastered DVD and Blu-ray versions where they have been digitally erased.

      Anyone get geographic anomalies?

      1. I remember new zealand being north adjacent to Australia and closer

      2. Japan was off in the ocean, now it is practically connected to Korea and Russia

      3. Africa is too far up, Egypt is too far from the equator.

      4. South America shifted very far right

      5. Costa Rica used to be an island in the Carribbean but is now a peninsula south of Mexico (heard Jurassic park may be responsible since they did a lot of island shots)

      1. yes NZ was under Aus
2.Japan was in the ocean as I remember learning North Korea would regularly kidnap Japanese fishermen for reasons I guess, it location being significant to the kidnappings so it stuck with me.
      4. Its so disturbing seeing it sooo far east.

It’s not Cinemaphile but the strangest is the Fruit of the Loom logo. If I were asked to describe it (without seeing it), I would say it’s an apple, grapes etc. arranged in front of a brown cornucopia (the “horn” looking thing). I could vividly describe the tag on some shitty cotton t-shirt looking this way.

Except the Fruit of the Loom logo has never in its entire history had a brown cornucopia behind it.

no, that’s a logo someone designed to show the effect. That logo was never once used on an official FotL product.

If it WAS used on products, even for a single season or one line of products, somebody would have found the tag, photographed it and put it on the internet by now. But nobody has.

Actually they did have them. They used them on the Kurds and against Iran. Also, Assad suddenly had chemical weapon types he never had before when the war there started. Also, it was widely known among service members in Iraq that numerous caches were found and destroyed, but was not really reported on.

In the movie he guides the sleigh like rudolph and in that scene it does look like he has a glowing red nose and since that's among his most prominent scenes it's easy to see why that would stick in your mind.

How is it explainable? I remember vividly reading that many many times and always kinda confused me as a kid why it would say may be. Now it's gone. Never existed. Poof

        Anonymous

That's what makes it even more ridiculous. There are tons of references to something that never was. There is concrete examples of jokes and ads and shit using may be, why? If it never said that.

That's what makes the really good mandela effects when you have a trial of evidence pointing to the thing that never existed.

The smoking gun right here. There's seriously no conceivable reason for this album title and cover if there never was a cornucopia in the logo.

sure it does, the guy who draw the image drew it from memory. I mean there's no meat in the original image either but its there on the album cover despite it literally having FRUIT in the name

                >The entire concept is about replacing the cornucopia with the flute. moronic shill.
Yeah I know you fricking moron the point is that you're remembering it incorrectly for the same reason the artist remembers it incorrectly. The meat being in the image is the point since there isn't any meat in the original image, the guy just imagined the logo and drew something similar, mixing it up with other images that do actually feature cornucopias.

I didn't mean switch as in they've changed it I meant switched from every other brands use of the colours, sorry if that was unclear.

The problem with this is that there are lots of different brands that do things different. So Cheese and Onion pringles and Hula Hoops are both green, for example.
And Salt&Vinegar is the inverse (green for walkers, blue for hula hoops).
No surprise that people would get confused
