Australia kino I'm sad it's only three seasons I haven't liked a show this much in a while.

I'm really surprised a major American network picked up for series. I'm an Ausgay myself and it looks like it has the same sort of budget as any show produced here.

it was perfect, but i didn't like their choice for the final song.
that last scene when ray looks into the camera and the music stopped was amazing on its own but then they had to add that stupid RUN song.
still shits on everything put out in the past few years.

Wrong, it was a kino song choice and pumped me up.

        Anonymous

idk, maybe it's because i've heard that song in a ton of stupid unfunny memes so it was ruined for me.
i even tried muting the audio precisely before the RUN, and imho it was better.

          Anonymous

The song defuses the tension perfectly imo and ends the series on a fun note, if there had been no music and just fade to black, the audience would've been bummed, especially considering so many episodes ending with upbeat music like that Aus Crawl song in season 2.

true, but i believe a 4th season wouldn't have hurt, considering 25 minute episodes.
there's some stories that just got unfinished (eg. group anger management therapy)

        >there's some stories that just got unfinished (eg. group anger management therapy)
Ray basically called the c**t running it a poofter, end of story.

it looked like something that was supposed to last throughout the show, an important piece of plot where ray actually thinks about the morality of his doings, like tony soprano with his shrink.
but then we had like 2 scenes with it and it was never mentioned again.

also that therapist from the group is probably the worst therapist in the world.

it sometimes makes me wonder if we see ray's enemies through his potentially crooked view. sometimes the characters are so cartoonishly evil there's no way anyone would act like that IRL (ally's brother taking the unicorn doll away from britt, guy bumping into britt and knocking her ice cream down then being a smug butthole about it, etc.)

            >an important piece of plot where ray actually thinks about the morality of his doings, like tony soprano with his shrink.
I'm actually rewatching the Sopranos atm and holy shit, Tony does not ONCE think about the morality of his doings, in Season 5 he tells Melfi to frick off when she even touches on that and that's after years of therapy and in the finale it's shown that all she did was make him feel better about himself.

            >it sometimes makes me wonder if we see ray's enemies through his potentially crooked view. sometimes the characters are so cartoonishly evil there's no way anyone would act like that IRL
This is actually quite an interesting take on the show, some of the events do feel like a bullshit yarn he'd tell down at the pub.

    Kino show.
Season 2 definitely stands far above the other 2, it just has so many iconic moments:
    >Ray quitting smoking
    >Ray shaking that guy down for money when his mother comes down stairs
    >The rat going for a dimmy run and getting busted
    >Ray's dad
    >Bruce's death

But yeah, great show overall. You just don't get kino like this much on television. It has the perfect blend of crime drama and comedy like Breaking Bad and The Sopranos had.

one thing i don't get- how did ray and dave become friends?
in season 1 dave had a job to get him killed and ray killed everyone involved except him for some unknown reason.

    then they became pals again

Dave was a bikie in Vinny's gang.

it's surprising that all scott ryan had to do to fill the diversity quota was him having a nonwhite daughter in the show. that's it. it's pretty interesting how much it allowed ray to say. he was even allowed to bawdshame, joke about rape, and believe in God.
