It didn't take long before the writing became daytime soap opera tier. Probably around
That said, I enjoyed it up to the prison battle. Can't remember what season that was, but I remember the rest of the season focusing on literal filler characters walking around in the woods. Some of the worst tv I have ever seen.
>governor guns down all his people because they got scared after leading them into a trap >goes out, bumbles into an entirely new group of people >usurps the leadership in a couple of weeks and comes back with even more firepower than he had previously
it's like a cartoon, it's so fricking bizarre
I think in the comic somebody just shoots him during the prison fight, he had a fraction of the longevity he did on the show and none of the bugs bunny powers

The governor shooting his own people was stupid. Him usurping leadership in the new group is true-to-life. The back half of S4 is the last time the show was kino.
First season was amazing. Second was worse but still enjoyable. Third one was sleep inducing. Everything in s4 up to the prison battle was kinda fun. Everything after that just gets worse and worse until it becomes literally unwatchable around the time Negan comes around
oof not this. There's a story behind this actually. They had a deer for the scene but it got away during the production and since it was hunting season it was too dangerous to try to find another lmao
Killing Andrea in that way at the end of season 3. After that they just kept killing people off for moronic shock value, thinking it was ok because they would just give their comics storyline to another character.
The flaws began to show in Season 3, which was the first full season without Darabont involved at all. But the show itself remained pretty solid IMO through the end of Season 5. Season 6 fumbled the bag and it was only downhill from there. And killing off Carl and writing Rick off was the final nail in the coffin
From great to good: After season one
From good to okay: Once they got to Alexandria
From okay to bad: Negan is introduced
From bad to shit: When the weird trash junkard people were introduced
Also when I stopped watching: Once they killed off Carl purely because it was "unexpected" and they needed a "shocking death for the mid season finale" so all those reactors on Youtuber can gasp and put massive :O faces in their thumbnails. Also lets face it because the actor turned 18 and they didn't wanna pay him adult money either.
It was a roller coaster imo. The season with the whisperers was awesome but the last season was utter trash. The Negan war was fricking disappointing as all hell
I remember reading the comic online after watching the first season and realising that the show was doomed to be unbearably shit. The comics are just aimless misery and the shows decline into monotony accurately reflects that. TWD was like an inverse GoT in that the rare great bits of the show are the parts where the writers deviate from the source material and do something fun.
Even the comic book author got bored of the franchise making him tens of millions, he long promised that it would go on forever but couldn't take it anymore.
The worst part of TWD is that it's existence makes it impossible for any other post-apocalyptic zombie show to exist. They didn't just kill their own show but they killed the zombie craze and entire genre for several decades at least
it can be a hard watch if you didn't watch the episodes as soon as they aired
some episodes are complete fricking snoozefests, i remember dropping it around the time rick first reached alexandria
negan unironically saved the show even though some will say twd ended with glenn
every negan scene up until the end of s8 was tense
s9 onwards still has some boring shit like the communities and introducing a bunch of OTHER characters at once and not being able to keep track of all of them
Anybody who says anything later than Season 2 is a fricking moron. Season 2 was trash and mostly filler. You can argue that anything after Season 1, Episode 1 isn't that great. But Season 2 was actual unwatchable trash. The characters acted stupid constantly, the farm was WAY to long of an arc (even if it was one single short chapter in the source material), and the director was changed. Who the frick would keep watching after this?
I know literally nothing about the guy other than with a new director at the helm, season 2 was garbage. So all I can say is he did a better job than whoever came after him.
almost none of them were gangbangers, it was like two cholos who showed up to get their parents and the rest was old people and various staff, even the guy Rigg talks to is just a janitor projecting strength
they all died offscreen to the hospital cop faction btw
after negan kills glenn
unironically, s1e2
second episode was such quality drop it is unreal

literally after the first episode
After the Governor arc. It got boring and repetitive after that.
Negan was better than the governor but the show did drop in quality after the governor arc.
Melodramatic loitering.
When Shane died
when shane died
this
also a fair answer
yup, the moment the knife entered his stomach the show died
I think I quit watching around season 8, whichever season had that terrible cgi effect of Rick in that junkyard with the fake background
The episode after Rick pulls up to Alexandria and the episode ends with the sound of children laughing.
that would have been a really good spot to end it

Pretty much everything after Terminus is garbage.
This looks worse every time I see it posted
oof not this. There's a story behind this actually. They had a deer for the scene but it got away during the production and since it was hunting season it was too dangerous to try to find another lmao
Not sure if its true but it was still kinda funny
jfc why do they keep making these
Because cha-ching
the moment tywin died
when garl dies and rigg leaves

season 1, episode 1

is Dead City worth watching if I love Nigan but hate Maggie?
Yes. The entire hook of the series is him being badass while Maggie smoulders angrily

Okay little buddy, whatever you say
I know literally nothing about the guy other than with a new director at the helm, season 2 was garbage. So all I can say is he did a better job than whoever came after him.
I didn't even read what you wrote the first time, not reading this either bucko
You are brown.
I wish, government subsidies would be nice
The episode when the heckin' wholesome Mexican gangbangers were defending a nursing home full of old people.
almost none of them were gangbangers, it was like two cholos who showed up to get their parents and the rest was old people and various staff, even the guy Rigg talks to is just a janitor projecting strength
