The moment The Prestige ended. His other films were passable up to that point, but that ending just did something to me. I think it was one of my first memories of realizing critics were complete, utter hacks and that this guy had a legion of cultish online followers that would never criticize anything he did, and made them feel like “smart” euphoric gentlemen for watching his films. It was one of the most egregious and moronic “twists” for a movie I had ever seen. I was convinced at that point Nolan was a brainlet masquerading as an intellectual
This times 100. What a great setup for one of the stupidest fricking endings of all time. It made M Night Shamalayn endings look positively Shakespearean
A few years back I brought the DVD of this movie just to make a thread on Cinemaphile about having brought the ps2 version of the ps3s 1 game, how turn your brain off is it because i've feeling sick and can't really concentrate on anything, might be worth watching
Just looked it up. Turns out Memento is the only actually good thing he's done. The batman movies were a fresh take on what ultimately is comic books. This really pushed us into the world of moronic movies we have today. Those movies were good for what they were, goofy shit.
The late 90s was the time the punk generation with their no future nihilism and stupid is the new smart world view aged into the positions of power to dismantle the education system that had upheld western civilization. You are not smart, you are just a smug child.
Its kindof awesome there was that whole era of rapid fire vulgar and racial stereotypes jokes. MXC is the true epitomy of comedy and exemplified this style.
Nolan has a really bland taste in film. Except for a few good movies, he barely has watched any classics. Then again, he makes blockbusters so that explains everything
Having good taste in movies is like having a good taste in burgers. At the end of the day, it's irrelevant. Also, the vast majority of directors are actually awful film critics.
people who actually create things derive their identity from what they make, not what they consume, so they don't give a shit. it's the nameless nobody that has to have THE PERFECT TASTE, THE MOST UNASSAILABLE OPINION - because he has nothing else
What did Oppenheimer do wrong? You really wanted to see every last jap die? I could see that after pearl harbor and a long brutal complicated invasion. If nukes are so bad why didn't they surrender after the first? Oppenheimer did nothing wrong.
what about when they land on the planet with 1000 foot waves every 10 minutes without even scanning the planet or looking at it for 10 minutes before landing?
In his defence it is hysterically funny. First time I saw it was on a plane and I only watched it because nothing else interested me. I was in stitches, I could see people turning around to see who was laughing so much but didn't care. It was hilarious.
Chris Nolan is eating his lunch after a long day and we're all happy to see it. Get the chips you like boua. CRUNCH on em. Let em have it let em know you aint playin no more pickle on the side like the whole game extra
The Dark Knight Rises was the beginning. Interstellar cemented it. Visually he seems great, but holy shit he needs an actual screenwriting partner, cause Goddamn are him and his brother incoherent morons.
Xboxbros.. We WON
Talladega Nights is a pretty good film.
If you’re a moron stuck in 2006. The thing aged like shit. It was already dated and stupid when it came out.
Have you considered the possibility that it is you who is the moron?
>no u
Great rebuttal
No it wasn't you're just a tryhard lmao I bet you were called mature a lot growing up
I was and that’s why I make 6 figures and own a house while you still angrily shitpost on Cinemaphile 16 years later
Lighten up sweetheart
>I'm being.... le contrarian!
Frick yourself homosexual
>not being moronic is now contrarian
Given the state of the world I suppose you’re right
Films were way better in 2006 than they are now though.
Yeah, and films were way better in 96 than they were in 2006. Doesn’t mean they weren’t still shit
He also loves McGrubber
Inception, his movies are still fun but thats when I saw him for what he is
When he made The Dark Knight.
The first time I watched a Nolan flick.

When did you realize OP was a bigger idiot?
Every second of every day
A few years back I brought the DVD of this movie just to make a thread on Cinemaphile about having brought the ps2 version of the ps3s 1 game, how turn your brain off is it because i've feeling sick and can't really concentrate on anything, might be worth watching
it's stupid but it leans into the stupid and makes it work. I think it's a gem
Alright if i'm still feeling sick in the morning I will put it on
>zoomers cant into will ferrel movies

Can someone recap what Nolan said about mirrors?
Does anyone have an explanation?
Is this real?
Yes. I’ll find the article
Yes, he’s a moron
Hahahahahah holy shit THIS is the moron redditors worship?
The Dark Knight
TDK was kino
if you ain't first, you're last.

He's a mid-intellectual and a mid-filmmaker, but for some unexplainable reason normies considered him one of the greats.
Midwit cinema IS peak cinema. It's what film was created for.
Dumbing down of culture started around late 90s lead to this. Thank the punk generation.
>around late 90s
zoomer alert
I wish. I am in my 40s.
The late 90s was the time the punk generation with their no future nihilism and stupid is the new smart world view aged into the positions of power to dismantle the education system that had upheld western civilization. You are not smart, you are just a smug child.
>late 90s
>punk generation
have a nice day zoomer
probably when he admitted that he hadn't heard of Kubrick until one of his crew recommended 2001 to him during the Interstellar shoot
Nolanbros is this true?
might've been Tarkowsky and Solaris instead but he said that
When he mentioned he is good friend with Snyder, so much shit suddenly started to make sense.
Batman begins quips.
He is correct.
Its kindof awesome there was that whole era of rapid fire vulgar and racial stereotypes jokes. MXC is the true epitomy of comedy and exemplified this style.
I always considered it superior to Anchorman.
No one has good taste in comedy. We just tend to laugh at the things we find funny and not everyone finds the same things funny.
Seeing Memento
Didn't know Nolan was an oldgay.
ps3 has no gaems
Nolan has a really bland taste in film. Except for a few good movies, he barely has watched any classics. Then again, he makes blockbusters so that explains everything

Part of his Kubrick LARP
>nooooooo you should never like comedykinooooooooooo
frickingkyshomosexual
Breaking News: Directors like movies
PTA likes Adam Sandler flicks
That explains a lot
people who actually create things derive their identity from what they make, not what they consume, so they don't give a shit. it's the nameless nobody that has to have THE PERFECT TASTE, THE MOST UNASSAILABLE OPINION - because he has nothing else
The "love transcends time" scene in Interstellar or the female scientist in Tenet telling the protagonist/audience "don't question it".
BANE?
When he made a kino trying to defend Oppie.
What did Oppenheimer do wrong? You really wanted to see every last jap die? I could see that after pearl harbor and a long brutal complicated invasion. If nukes are so bad why didn't they surrender after the first? Oppenheimer did nothing wrong.
Interstellar, or "how I learned to stop worrying and trust the power of love"
"Love" is just a placeholder for human exceptionalism. The entire point was that man was more than science.
what about when they land on the planet with 1000 foot waves every 10 minutes without even scanning the planet or looking at it for 10 minutes before landing?
Of comedies from around the same time, Walk Hard is better.
In his defence it is hysterically funny. First time I saw it was on a plane and I only watched it because nothing else interested me. I was in stitches, I could see people turning around to see who was laughing so much but didn't care. It was hilarious.
Are you black?
White as a ghost.
it's my favorite ps3 game
When I learned of the plane scene.
Chris Nolan is eating his lunch after a long day and we're all happy to see it. Get the chips you like boua. CRUNCH on em. Let em have it let em know you aint playin no more pickle on the side like the whole game extra
He's not wrong, I also consider it one of the best comedies I've ever seen.
The Dark Knight Rises was the beginning. Interstellar cemented it. Visually he seems great, but holy shit he needs an actual screenwriting partner, cause Goddamn are him and his brother incoherent morons.
As soon as those dumb fricking walking kitkat robots showed up in interstellar
