Jockey Elves
fpbp
I even liked The Principal and the Pauper as a kid, didn't mind about armin tarzarian. But the jockey episode was really when I remember thinking "this isn't Simpsons anymore"
Literally i right here, i still remember it and i arrived at the conclusion independently
It's been dead but this was the moment I finally stop visiting it's grave.
I stopped paying attention a long time ago. When this went viral was when I found out it was a cancer ridden zombie.
Qrd?
Some politician said Kamela sounds like Marge so they b***hed about it
when maude died. no joke
That was it for me.
these were the two that came to mind, i think was checked out before tony hawk ep or dont remember. I archive media, but i stopped at season 8 for Simpsons
I used to watch The Simpsons religiously every Sunday night until this piece of shit episode.
Same, lad. I remember being super excited for some reason and then feeling this deep resentment watching it, like someone puppeting the corpse of a loved one around. The Simpsons was shit for a long time before episode 300 in hindsight but this one was so bad it made a full generation of already pretty stupid kids open their eyes to how far it had fallen.
first one I thought of too
same
That's is it
Remember as a kid why am I watching this during this episode
>8th grade
>Sunday night hockey practice at local arena.
>4 or 5 of us head up into the concession area and turn it on
>that was it?
>head home and get ready for school in the morning
Yup first episode when i finally noticed i didnt laugh at all and the skate board fight sealed the deal
They should have an episode where Kanye West convinces Homer to run his campaign after meeting him at Moe's tavern and they actually beat both Trump and Biden.
Kanye had a recurring character in the Cleveland show. Surprisingly watchable show if you like faintly guy
Probably the one every one points to as the end, The Principal and the Pauper. It just didn't feel right.
Bart has never said anything funny
Hay Caramba
> kippers for breakfast, aunt Helga?
>I raped milhouse!
The chapter when Bart show his ass in front of the United States flag. I remember saying "Why am I watching this shit? And then went outside to ride on my bike
I think the homosexual episode from season 8 should be the cutoff
>hating the episode where Homer calls Ron Howard a pedophile and Alec Baldwin a murderer
As a kid, the episodes that stood out to me as being complete shit were the fake skinner, the New York episode, the max power episode, the Alec Baldwin andthen the ones with Tony hawk. As an adult I can say max power is a great episode but the peak was season 5 and it stopped sharply and the death is season 7. I do not watch anything past season 7.
Max Power episode is a lot worse than it's reputation. It's like they used all the good ideas in the first fifteen minutes and then just added another ten minutes of weird unrelated and unfunny shit which started happening a lot around that time.
>the max power episode
Filtered.
Did I miss something? Why is that episode even on any list? It's so bland. I can't even remember what happens in the episode after Homer sings his new theme song.
Is that Threefiddy Cent?
When Edna and Skinner broke up. That was moronic.
50 cemt was only in the show 20 seconds. Very misleading
The HD episodes are kind of nice in that they're instantly recognizable as "not my Simpsons".
I literally can't watch the new episodes because of the brightness of the HD. It fricks with my eyes and senses, plus they are so fricking soulless.
When they announced a movie
Is Bart supposed to be an icon of coolness?
around 1997-98
Before this, there was a grounded realism to the simpsons. It could be overexaggerated and wacky, but it was treated like the real world. You didn't have cartoon characters interacting with the cast or anything like that.
Season 9 (9!!) Was the beginning of the simpsons decline and you could notice it.
Controversial opinion: season 10 is slightly better than 9.
There's a behind-the-scenes thing where the cast talks about how Nimoy beaming out at the end of the monorail episode was something they debated because it turned the world into something magical. I don't know what season that was, but it's an early one.
This episode for some reason stood out as being particularly awful. The first where I can recall that I thought it was just an iredeemable half-hour of television with nothing going for it.
Now that was a shitty episode
What were they even thinking
>However, the hack proved disastrous for some who had tried it before.
“I did that and it stained my clothes because the butter seeped through the bottom,” one user said. Others responded by suggesting she cover the bottom with a plastic bag or paper towels to avoid spills.
i enjoyed the 50 cent episode. at least bart could still be a man
Death to America
and butter sauce!
I just went to Starcucks for the first time in like 2 years and I shit you not, the homosexual at the drive-thru window handed me a PDA that asked for a tip.
He handed you a public display of affection that asked for a tip?
A PDA? Was it like a pamphlet he wanted you to keep?
>3% NJ Healthy Terminal Act Fee
wtf?
It means you have to pay for using the automated register instead of going to a cashier. Government regulation is even more evil than these businesses.
I think you made that up. I googled it and it seems like legislation requiring more pay for airport employees during covid. So instead of employers just paying that they tack on 3% at checkout. Plus tip.
>16 dollars for a pre-packed salad
Where the frick is this?
Captcha: WTFXD
israelite York probably
that's an airport so things are going to be stupid expensive regardless
What the frick does a chicken salad being 'kosher' mean?
It means we have to pay an extra few cents that goes to the rabbi who certified it
>$5 for a fricking small chocolate bar
Grim
Leave a tip for who? Myself?
when the first episode of southpark aired
S11E05
> hating the tomacco episode
Come on now
Captcha 4DKKK
I miss Phil Hartman
when Bill Oakley & Josh Weinstein left
a long fricking time ago. way before sneed
What do you guys all think was the last truly great episode of The Simpsons? I've always liked Trilogy of Error despite the fact it's from season 12 but I can't think of much beyond that one.
somehow i remember disliking the brazil episode enough for me to lose faith in the show.
i will admit i've fapped to the carnival girls quite a few times though, as well as large marge
Rewatching it recently, it started feeling a little rough around season 4, with the writers' political biases starting to creep into the show more and more.
S1 and s2 are wholesome
S3 is the transition to basically sketch comedy
S4 to s10 is more current events and political references
S11 is just escapism
When I noticed not a day goes by without being blackout drunk by 9AM.
Grim
Its weird that people never point out that it was the sneed episode. It was such an escapism disjointed from any moral subtext. It was that season and mainly that episode where I realized it was thrning looney tunes.
Started the downward trend around S11-12, tanked after the movie.
>JUANA JUANA
>BAILA COMO JUANA
>JUANA LA CUBANA
>PARECE REFRESCO DE COLA
>A MI ME PARECE QUE ESTA BIEN BUENA
That episode is pure kino.
Yes this! I noticed the comedy from that point got worse.
The movie was the last good Simpsons
When Bart became friends with some made-up cowboy moviestar
Probably that episode where Homer meets Mel Gibson, although that's pretty tame compared to the the horrible shit that came later.
Tony Hawk episode.
But I always had issues with the show, even in the so-called golden years, particularly with Lisa's portrayal, episodes like Lisa the Vegetarian and Lisa vs. Malibu Stacy fail to hold her to account for bullying women who don't give a shit about her prog crap.
>Lisa vs. Malibu Stacy
Smithers was always the best thing about that episode anyway.
>But she's got a new hat! I WANT IT!
I stopped watching when Homer was raped by a panda.
I thought the one where all the Simpson men are idiots was kinda stupid. There was a Halloween special where everything felt kinda off , and then I stopped watching.
>still consider the show my favourite of all time
>haven't watched it since 2003
I've seen episodes here and there from later seasons but the show lost me a long time ago. Nothing could bring me back but I will still quote the golden years until I'm dead
they can do that?
Are there any modern episodes worth watching? I don't think I've seen anything from the past 12 years. Sorta interested in how the whole Ned/Edna thing plays out since she ends up being killed off
No, the last watchable episode was Behind the Laughter but anything made in the last 10 years is particularly unbearable in its absolute toothlessness.
I remember when they hooked up ned with edna because I saw ads for it in the dvd store, when those still existed. But I had no idea they killed off edna. Wtf man
She died in real life
Damn homie
I'm 25, so I was mainly watching a lot of mid 2000s Simpsons.
It was dead for me at this episode.
It was so godawful
For me, it's homerpalooza
Why is bart fat
when futurama came out
When the credits rolled, duh.
A while. Shit and I thought it peaked in 1995 with the television event known as Who Shot Mr. Burns?
I realize season 19 was too late for me to realize but as a kid, that episode made me realize that simpsons suckes because tree house horror episodes were my absolute favorite and that episode didn't made me laugh even once
After Humberto Velez quit
reading through all these replies makes me realise just how many episodes were complete dogshit and it was never just "one" episode that killed it for me. I completely forgot about that Tony Hawk episode till this thread. I think Homer and Marge meeting in the 90's needs to be mentioned though. It makes me sad when I think about how endearing and funny the early episodes. When will this pile of crap end ?
Like 20 years ago.
homer the stoner
Simultaneously the zenith and nadir of the series.
It was a way of burying the show by admitting what used to be a satire now became a total cartoon.
Apparently an episode got rated TV-MA? Interesting. Might have to check it out
>the season 26 episode
Never mind, will never watch
Half the shit they did in older Halloween episodes would land them a TV-MA today.
>This episode is notable as being the only TV-MA rated episode of the series due to a scene where a woman briefly flips the camera off
Really? This show had gore in the halloween episodes, panda rape and even movie had a dick but this is where they draw the line?
It's because there was an uncensored middle finger in it
Behind the Laughter, like literally. The season is a 7/10 but that episode is a 10/10 series finale.
the best is the cum joke thats banned now, cant remember the episode, but the new company homer joins, fricking classic
Uhm, sneed to meet you?
the smashing pumpkins episode feels like a zombie simpsons episode. only season 8 episode i don’t like.
when someone who seemed older and smarter than me on the internet said it was bad
>100+ reply "comfy simpsons thread"
>no sneed
