Yeah, right. Space jellyfish that wanted to have sex with other jellyfish. Very good. And the next episode is about the entire crew having sex. And an android can get that virus and get horny for some reason. I thought this was some serious Science Fiction for high IQ people. Wthat the fuck am I watching?
The plots are usually silly, going back to the first episode of TOS "The Man Trap", it's about a shapeshifter that kills people by sucking salt out of their bodies.
I watch Trek for the cast, the spaceship designs and atmosphere and the comfy ambient quality it has.
Dont understand why you think explaining what happens in a matter of fact way proves some kind of point. Its good, its imaginative, fuck off if you dont like it.
No, the Outcast is gross. It was the snowrunners misguided attempt to replicate ‘Let that be your last battlefield’ with homogays instead of races. But this allegory fails because skin color is an immutable trait whereas whether to act on perverted feelings is your own bad moral choice.
I think if a case could be made after the fact for a trans allegory in TNG, it would be The Host, which introduced the Trill to the lore. But even it was a straight up attempt to make gays seem sympathetic.
At least Crusher admitted in the end that even in the 24th century such a perverted sexual relationship was considered indecent in human society.
They didn't really have a choice with Shades of Grey. They ran out of money and were contractually obligated to make one more episode for the season. Shades of Grey was filmed in 1 day for $5000.
Beverly Crusher sex makes me gag. And it should make you gag too. Sub Rosa was not good Trek. The only sex I want to see in my Trek is Captain Kirk forcibly kissing a woman, too hard, on the lips. No tongue. Awkwardly.
Unironically this. I kept hearing people say the first 2 seasons sucked all the while I was enjoying them. Sure it gets better later but the first two seasons had that magic of wonder and mystery that the later seasons did not.
Season 2 is great IMO and the first one I watched as it aired. Sure season 1 has a rough first half but in rewatching trek over the pandemic start to finish (except Voyager), I found season 1 of TNG to be much better than I remembered. The amount of bad scifi today makes old cringey TNG seem almost intellectual with its more neutral PC outlook.
Season 2, stays decent until about season 5. Last 2 seasons are a step down but okay. DS9 is okay for season 1-2 then great from 3-6. Last season is similar to TNG, mostly maudlin shite with a good ending.
I dont know when exactly he died, but there is definitely more drama between crew members as the seasons go on, but it is nowhere near an actual drama show. For the most part it is sci fi plot of the week
they retooled the show at the end of s1, even before he died, when it was clear the show would die after 2 seasons unless it changed
the episode where they repudiated roddenberry's homosexual utopia shit was >S01E26: The Neutral Zone
This show sucks and looks terribly ancient, and the writing and dialog is pretty lame and boring also, I suggest checking out Discovery as it's far more modern and is much more entertaining, also if you want something fun check out lower decks instead of this boomer shit.
Because those episodes are the only reason season 2 isn't as bad as season 1. (Also the episode where Data beats pimple face at super chess). Season 2 has those highlights, but the show is still hard to watch until season 3, when it actually becomes reliably good.
Season 2
Stop watching after season 3
Season 1, Episode 1.
>I thought this was some serious Science Fiction for high IQ people.
No, it's just Star Trek.
The plots are usually silly, going back to the first episode of TOS "The Man Trap", it's about a shapeshifter that kills people by sucking salt out of their bodies.
I watch Trek for the cast, the spaceship designs and atmosphere and the comfy ambient quality it has.

This is correct.
THAT BEING SAID: There are exactly two bad episodes of TNG .
1. The Outcast
2. Sub Rosa
All others should be watched and enjoyed accordingly. Multiple times if possible.
The Outcast is good, the fuck are you talking about
>t. ranny
a young person who misinterpreted the episode as tranny shit, why am I not surprised
No, the Outcast is gross. It was the snowrunners misguided attempt to replicate ‘Let that be your last battlefield’ with homogays instead of races. But this allegory fails because skin color is an immutable trait whereas whether to act on perverted feelings is your own bad moral choice.
Star Trek should know better.
disagree but at least you don't think it's about trannies like most zoomers who watch TNG for the first time do
Nice to meet a reasonable fella.
> Not including 'The Quality of Life'.
It’s a good episode. It’s a Data episode, which is awesome. And who doesn’t love the Exocomps? I think you are the one who blew it, sir.
That dumb toaster episode sucked balls.
Shades of Grey. Clip shows are rarely, if ever, a good idea.
They didn't really have a choice with Shades of Grey. They ran out of money and were contractually obligated to make one more episode for the season. Shades of Grey was filmed in 1 day for $5000.
Sub Rosa is kino and I'm tired of pretending it's not.
Beverly Crusher sex makes me gag. And it should make you gag too. Sub Rosa was not good Trek. The only sex I want to see in my Trek is Captain Kirk forcibly kissing a woman, too hard, on the lips. No tongue. Awkwardly.
Based people who get filtered by the first season are homosexuals there's plenty of kino episodes
Unironically this. I kept hearing people say the first 2 seasons sucked all the while I was enjoying them. Sure it gets better later but the first two seasons had that magic of wonder and mystery that the later seasons did not.

Only Season 3 and half of Season 4 are good
Why does his face look so god damn...weird? His hand looks fine, but his face looks digitally clean or something? The fuck?
Pancake makeup.
S01E26: The Neutral Zone
Season 8
When you switch to DS9.
Season 2, stays decent until about season 5. Last 2 seasons are a step down but okay. DS9 is okay for season 1-2 then great from 3-6. Last season is similar to TNG, mostly maudlin shite with a good ending.
ever time I watch star trek I get an enormous erection
Season 3
It doesn't. Skip it and watch DS9 instead.
Yesterdays Enterprise, after that it's kino till the end. Fuck season 7 haters
that episode means nothing if you haven't watched season 1 and 2
After Dingleberry died at any point does it return to space bullshit or does it just lean further into space drama?
I dont know when exactly he died, but there is definitely more drama between crew members as the seasons go on, but it is nowhere near an actual drama show. For the most part it is sci fi plot of the week
they retooled the show at the end of s1, even before he died, when it was clear the show would die after 2 seasons unless it changed

>S01E26: The Neutral Zone
Season 2
But you start at Season 1 so when you meet someone else who watched TNG you can laugh about how terribly Wesley was written
What's up with Troy's nose?
Dont listen to these nerds. Season 3 is when it gets good
This show sucks and looks terribly ancient, and the writing and dialog is pretty lame and boring also, I suggest checking out Discovery as it's far more modern and is much more entertaining, also if you want something fun check out lower decks instead of this boomer shit.
im trans btw
I wish I could run over your head with an 18 wheeler.
I enjoy S1 and S2 but S3 is where it gets reliably good.
It gets good in season 3.
You MAY skip season 2.
You SHOULD skip season 1.
I never understood why some people said skipping season 2 was fine, Measure of a Man and Q Who are two of the best episodes in the entire series.
Because those episodes are the only reason season 2 isn't as bad as season 1. (Also the episode where Data beats pimple face at super chess). Season 2 has those highlights, but the show is still hard to watch until season 3, when it actually becomes reliably good.
people say skip it because they dont like best doctor Pulaski
Stick to modern star trek series. Those are made for your kind.
