Where do I find the open matte version of Eyes Wide Shut with the highest possible image quality?

Where do I find the open matte version of Eyes Wide Shut with the highest possible image quality?
I found this screengrab here (https://film-grab.com/2010/07/11/eyes-wide-shut/), and the screen grab's resolution suggest a PAL DVD I guess.

For comparison, a screen grab of the typical Bluray releases you can find everywhere, the actual image quality isn't much higher there, and it's cropped of course.

It looks better cropped. And it's how Kubrick intended it to be.

Why do you want it matte? It's a film not a fricking paint

I know there is an ongoing debate which version looks better and what Kubrick did and didn't intend.
I've seen both versions, and I liked the 4:3 one more, as with most open matte stuff it's subjective I'd say.

Not really. Kubrick's films were intended to be shown in widescreen, hence why they were shown that way in theaters. He just made sure the framing worked in open matte as well, so the VHS releases wouldn't use pan and scan.

I've read this reasoning as well and it might very well be true, but in the end my own subjective opinion matters more to me. I never made any generalized claims about which version is better, as this is Cinemaphile and not stupid appealing-to-hivemind-authority reddit.

Do you think the set designers ever wondered why all the props look like they belonged to a masonic lodge? If I was a prop guy I'd be perplexed

It's on private trackers such as karagarga (which is where I got my copy). I'm sure it's gonna be uploaded to public trackers one day, if not already. Try rutracker

Thanks for the info anon, what is the release called, I'm only finding the Bluray ones everywhere, I guess the source for the copy you have is the DVD then, or is the quality higher than that?

Maybe you could post a screen grab from your copy here kind anon? The scene is right at the beginning at 00:37.

I would really appreciate this too anon. I usually find myself preferring open matte versions of films. After you go back to the standard release it just feels cramped.

              Interesting, thanks anon!
So this version you have is also cropped, however less so, (pic related is a screen grab of the same frame on the Bluray), your version seems to be some completely different transfer of the film material, there are many small defects as well, that's curious.

It seems it is not titled as an open matte like I remembered it being, but rather just a 35mm scan
