For me, it's the American teen furry who was single-handedly responsible for writing like 90% of the Scots language version of Wikipedia

Okay I've just looked it up and the guy isn't a furry, and only wrote a third of the articles on the Scots Wikipedia, but my point still stands that he was a fricking moron

for context he knew 0 scots, he just wrote shit in misspelled english for a decade

and it took him admitting to get banned lmfao

It's just hilarious. I wonder if he thought he was genuinely being a helpful contributor, or if it was just a long-term prank that he kept up for years. But you're right that the absolute funniest thing is how long it took for anyone to notice

wikipedos would rather flay themselves alive than admit that someone slipped incorrect shit past them.
Usually results in cringe but sometimes you get laugh riots. Like when brianna wu tried to make Samus trans on the wikipedia entry and the wikiautists out-sperged him

I always used to get a good laugh out of reading the edit history for FEMA. Absolute schizo goldmine.

I went there just looking for schizoposting about FEMA death camps. Back before they locked it there was constant shit like trying to do subtle edits to slip in conspiracy codes or just outright deleting the whole article and replacing it with capslock babble about the antichrist and NWO

          https://www.vice.com/en/article/pkgbwm/chinese-woman-fake-russian-history-wikipedia
          >Posing as a scholar, a Chinese woman spent years writing alternative accounts of medieval Russian history on Chinese Wikipedia, conjuring imaginary states, battles, and aristocrats in one of the largest hoaxes on the open-source platform.

          >The scam was exposed last month by Chinese novelist Yifan, who was researching for a book when he came upon an article on the Kashin silver mine.

          >Discovered by Russian peasants in 1344, the Wikipedia entry goes, the mine engaged more than 40,000 slaves and freedmen, providing a remarkable source of wealth for the Russian principality of Tver in the 14th and 15th centuries as well as subsequent regimes. The geological composition of the soil, the structure of the mine, and even the refining process were fleshed out in detail in the entry.

          >Yifan thought he’d found interesting material for a novel. Little did he know he’d stumbled upon an entire fictitious world constructed by a user known as Zhemao. It was one of 206 articles she has written on Chinese Wikipedia since 2019, weaving facts into fiction in an elaborate scheme that went uncaught for years and tested the limits of crowdsourced platforms’ ability to verify information and fend off bad actors.

          >“The content she wrote is of high quality and the entries were interconnected, creating a system that can exist on its own,” veteran Chinese Wikipedian John Yip told VICE World News. “Zhemao single-handedly invented a new way to undermine Wikipedia.”

Is there a dispute? I know there was a wiki faction that hates infoboxes even though they obviously make the page look better and no infobox makes an article about a person look like it's about some artistic movement or something. It took a while to finally win the battle to restore the infobox for Ernest Shackleton.

Don't like him. Talented but his films are ultimately too meaningless and unnecessarily slow.

I understand finding them slow, but I don't know how you miss the meaning in his films. They're usually pretty obvious.

The Wikipedia arbitration committee has some gold. Arbcom is where you go once all other options in your petty internet argument are exhausted. They all LARP like it's the Supreme court over like, which portrait of an anime character to use

wikipedia autists are tame compared to fandom autists; the two that come to mind for me are the guy that made every article for silent hill about circumcision and the guy that nuked any discussion about romhacking or walkthroughs on the goldeneye 007 wiki because it was cheating and morally wrong

I entered the English wikipedia discord to ask a question. Man, is it plagued with trannies. I didn't know the memes were real. Every other user has the troony flag or some variant of it in their profile pics.

Anyone know anything what's going on with Kubrick's daughter politically? I've just went through her Twitter following and it's less bad than I'd imagined it would be. Thought she'd be the same National Conservatism club as Amanda Milius.
