      >Black person Bond girl portrayed as dumb ape
      >Bond bangs the black girl and then kills her

        Yeah, I agree.

Many years later, Yaphet Kotto said 'Live and Let Die' was a racist movie. Yet he would gladly sign photos of himself as Dr. Kananga at conventions. Which makes me smile.

Watch them all, but you can tell which ones are top tier quality.

    >From Russia with Love
    >Goldfinger
    >On Her Majesty's Secret Service
    >Live and Let Die
    >Octopussy
    >Licence to Kill
    >GoldenEye
    >Casino Royale

Most of those don't need watching of prior movies, since there's rarely a continuous story arc. Only recurring characters and occasionally SPECTRE. The only really bad one was Moonraker, since it was rushed to capitalize on the comeback of Sci-Fi that Star Wars brought and essentially had nothing to do with the source material, so they could go into space and have laser guns.

Pretty much all of them are good until they replace Brosnan with Captain Slav. They have a couple instances of janky plot (Thunderball, Moonraker) but we get space jetpack laser wars so it doesn't really matter.

The really jarring thing is how shit the big band music is until the series discovers Rock n' Roll around the release of Live and Let Die. They have action scenes in Goldfinger that sound like they're supposed to be marching or parade scenes because of the music.

This. Everybody should watch all Bond movies in release order until Craig's takeover. You can't really go that wrong with any of them.

CR 54: Only notable for its novelty of being the first on screen Bond. Not worth watching.
Dr. No: A great first attempt, but not a great Bond movie. A good measuring stick for the series.
    FRWL: Certified Kino
Goldfinger: Bafflingly overrated by nostalgic boomers. Reputation carried forward by inertia and nothing else. Pretty low tier, tbh.
Thunderball: Certified Kino barring some wonky effects.
CR 67: Weirdo psychedelic 60s trash. Do not watch.
YOLT: Not one of the greats, but a fun flick.
    OHMSS: Certified Kino
DAF: Maybe the worst Bond film. Admittedly, has a kind of sleazy charm tho.
    LALD: Certified Kino
TMWTGG: Worth watching for Christopher Lee, but otherwise pretty bad.
    TSWLM: Certified Kino
Moonraker: "Bond in space" is the least of this movie's problems. Not a bad movie, just really fricking goofy in spots.
FYEO: Has the most bland and forgettable villain in the series, but other than that, Certified Kino
Octopussy: Biggest filter of the series. Certified Kino. Peak Roger Moore.
NSNA: Not terrible, but really only worth watching to see Connery play Bond one last time.
AVTAK: This movie has a lot of haters, but I think it's pretty fun.

TLD: Certified Kino, other than a disappointing villain/climax.
      LTK: Certified Kino
      Goldeneye: Certified Kino
      TND: Certified Kino
TWINE: Am I biased towards Brosnan? Yes. Don't care. The guy was making what amounted to then modern day Roger Moore movies with actually good action and effects. CERTIFIED KINO.
DAD: Reminder that this movie was actually well liked when it came out. Has recently undergone a bit of a reappraisal in the wake of the Craig films. The verdict: very cheesy and stupid, but not as bad as its reputation suggests.
      CR: Certified Kino
QOS: Disappointing coming off of Casino, but a pretty decent mid tier Bond flick.
Skyfall: Has attracted some haters, no doubt because of the films that followed, but ignore the naysayers. If not Certified Kino, then at the very least it's a really solid Bond film.
Spectre: The most "classic Bond" out of the recent movies, and also somehow the worst.
NTTD: The best and worst of the Daniel Craig era all rolled into one. Will leave you with an awful taste in your mouth.

Craig Bond pissed me off the most because QOS continued immediately in the timeline after CR his first mission. then in Skyfall he’s told to stop doing field work because it’s a young man’s game. Now he’s doing self-reflection. Like what the frick happened between all that? We only got to see the beginning and tail-end of his adventures.

But this movie when from sort of unpopular to underrated to being one of like top 5 most popular Bonds. And rightfully so.

OHMSS is like the opposite of spectre in that it starts awful, but keeps getting better as the movie run time goes on until the iconic finale, while spectre starts good but then the script starts falling off so bad the ending outdoes the austin powers trilogy in terms of ridiculousness.

A little bit. Except OHMSS has higlights in the first act even if it's clear everyone watching can't wait to finally get to Switzerland. It's cool too this anticipation.

Why is the movie called No Time To Die?

The name of Bond movies were often a bit ridiculous but I seriously can't think of one way the name relates to the movie. Even the Nomi's quote doesn't use the "no" part.
