Pretty much, a character who randomly flip flopped sides because of an abusive/evil partner in crime. And is now seen as a “poor little bean” by the fans and modern writers, despite not being such.

Weird answer and probably unpopular, but I think 2022 Beavis could qualify. They’re legit turning him into an abused soft boy, and judging by Mike’s likes on Twitter and Insta- probably to pander to Beavis’ fangirls. I loved the old series, and this new series has its funny as frick moments- but the more dramedy side with Beavis bums me out a lot. I miss when Beavis was a comedy character, not some complex abuse victim soft boy with autism. (Well, he was always an abuse victim, but it was never played super seriously.) I know this probably isn’t a popular opinion like I said, especially since most people I’ve talked to IRL at my classes and on Cinemaphile say they prefer this version of the series to the old one, but I think it contributes.
I think some of the Crewniverse and some other CN show people are working on the reboot, it might be them who did this.
