nah, I love going back and looking up every reference for context, it adds a crazy depth to the dialogue and u realize how much subtle things you overlooked on the first time
you can pick up any sopranos episode and watch it whenever you want and you won't be lost. you can only do that with like 2 episodes of breaking bad. zero rewatchability my ass
>you can pick up any sopranos episode and watch it whenever you want and you won't be lost
of course you won't be lost because Tonypizzarinos has fricking zero plot lines that are finished or logical. SHIT JUST HAPPENS AND THERE ARE PEOPLE
Frick no. The sopranos has shit you wont notice the first time watching and its great acting all around puts it above BB. I love BB, but if you watched it once, you dont really have to see it again
Complete opposite for me. I enjoyed Breaking Bad for the plot and wanting to know what happens next, while my enjoyment of the Sopranos was almost entirely because of how interesting and likeable the cast is.
Each time I rewatch it I get new perspectives and details I missed in my previous watch. Sopranos is full of symbolism, metaphor and characters that feel real.

Larry the Penis Guy: Penis Inspector is a 2006 American comedy film starring American stand-up comedian Larry the Penis Guy. Larry, a municipal restaurant Penis inspector, is assigned a new rookie partner after recklessly closing restaurants for code violations, Amy Butlin (Iris Bahr), by his boss, Bart Tatlock (Tom Wilson). Together, Larry and Amy work to solve a series of food poisonings at four-star restaurants.
Seen season 1 and yeah, assuming the show doesn't take a nose dive from season 1 which is a perfect season of television I'm going with mad men
Hate Sopranos and Breaking Bad is awful
Breaking Bad because it's about the only right wing show to have ever existed. Man defies the state to build his own fortune and secure a future for his family using pure reason and social prowess. Walt is opposed by illegal alien Mexicans, black homosexuals, old cripples, his prostitute wife, and he destroys them all, finally ascending to Valhalla dying in battle to destroy his enemies and preserve the Aryan bloodline through Jesse. Jesse on the other hand shows that if you're a blue eyed white man, you can always be redeemed and end up on top now matter what depths you sink to. Individualism, traditional values, rebellion, Aryan supremacy, it's undeniably a right wing masterpiece.
We’ll and it’s true, the show was absolutely racist whenever it could be. Breaking Bad was too PC, then it had Neo-Nazi’s instead of Mexicans because the writers DIDN’T want to be seen as racists. Like, what the frick, the cartel exists in real life and they’re all bloodthirsty criminals.
Breaking Bad had no balls.

I know this is a copypasta, but I generally agree with it until the second half of season 5. The writers copped out by making le evil neo nazis the final villains. Realistically some random neo Nazi gang in New Mexico would not have such importance, but I guess the writers realised that after having Mexican cartel men and a black meth kingpin as villains they needed some white antagonists.
what are you talking about lmao neo nazis are huge in the south west basically all organized white crime is them, although breaking bad didn't depict them as bikers which they usually are
they aren't even in the same league
breaking bad is a fun ride, sure, kinda like the white american adult version of a shounen, but it has no real depth, and a lot of the meme characters like gustavo and some of the lousy acting really bring it down

Breaking Bad is great (really great protagonists and an amazing story) but the supporting cast doesn't has much depth except for the Cop brother in law, the wife and, in some parts, Saul and the Gustavo. Like the sister in law all of the sudden seems like is gonna have some development with the cleptomaniac thing, but that story is abandoned without an end (and thankfully, it didn't add shit to the show). Same with the son being a moron, and some other forgetable characters. The Sopranos, on the other hand, has a lot of amazing supporting characters, every one of them with his own arc and story, and it almost always add to the story. Not to mention is way more artistic in the delivery, better music, better scenes (from the pure artistic stand point). The Sopranos is just kino all around. Breaking Bad is great, but not like God Tier like the Sopranos.

Kek even the dukes of hazard was less dated then the basedpranos. The Basedranos is completely over-rated and an example of poor writing/plot development. I’ll give some credit to the first two seasons. But 3-6? Why even watch them? The writers decided just churn out junk scripts with no point. They consistently bring up plot random points and then never follow through on the development. It’s almost hilarious that they have to create an several entire random scenes for one or two lingering developments that they just never address. It’s sloppy and takes away for the story —whatever that is. I would rate it at similar to a day-time soap-opera with serial killers.

why do zoomers feel so insecure watching something that isn't popular? my mate started freaking out the other day when i suggested a movie on netflix that wasn't in the highest rated section. he also says brba and black mirror are his favourite shows.
>Breaking Bad is literally ten times more popular
Fricking based.
Based. I never go on reddit so I was under the impression the shows were about equal in popularity. I guess that's the reason Sopranos fans on Cinemaphile can be so obnoxious and aggressive, they're just permaseething that BrBa has a way bigger following.

Carmela >peak feminine homemaking mother id like to frick
Skyler White >Gigantic skull lantern-jawed brainless ugly harpy b***h who gives her bull all her husband's money
My favorite part about the Sopranos is unironically the weather.
The fall and winter as depicted in that show is unebeatably comfy. I just finished a rewatch last week and I might do it again
I think iv watched Sopranos 5 or 6 times and i can still watch clips on Youtube and feel comfy
BB you watch twice and then feel its kind of over rated amongst the reddit tier crowd.
I don't even know how the frick BB flipped Sopranos on IMDB's top TV show list. Sopranos used to be in the top 3 FFS. BB is a much more normie friendly show with not so many characters to keep track of.
I think Breaking bad is more consistantly good. It never gets outstanding, but it never gets awful either. Sopranos has some of the most kino moments in TV, but it also has some really poorly written/acted/thought out episodes in later seasons. Both endings are good, with equally fitting payoffs.
You act like younger kids don't latch onto older shit to larp as "mature adults" and brag about their refined taste. Kids complaining about being born in the wrong generation is nothing new
Cinemaphile hypes up the sopranos way too much. It hasn’t aged well. Watch The Shield if you looking for an early 2000’s crime drama with actual payoff (and a better anti-hero).
Havent watched breaking bad yet but I tried watching the sopranos again after having quit it once earlier after maybe 5 episodes. This time I'm about one and a half seasons in and beginning to understand why I didn't finish it the last time.
There is nothing going for the show except for some great acting and characters. The central premise of the show i.e. the psychological breakdown of a gangster's psyche is already so shallow and it has not even been a quarter of the show. There is no arc to any character except for Christopher (I almost quit the show when he goes into a cardiac arrest in the second season). Things seem too convenient at times, bodies disappear without a trace or repercussions, cops are being taken on a ride by the informant, storypoints that end up nowhere (like the royalty thing in the first season, the dnr in second)
And to put it up there with The Wire as one of the best shows. Unfair. Sometimes it feels like I'm watching friends!
I love the acting though. Christopher, Paulie and Adriana are probably my favorite characters.
>it has nothing but great actors and characters
Is that not enough? I like the story, but even if you think its average the acting and performances make it well worth it
People just don't understand and I think this one of the few cases we can use the memeword "filtered" and be right about it. The Sopranos is objectively the best show, no contest. The Sopranos is the defining drama tv show of this century, if someone wants to understand the breakdown of 20th century institutions (the mafia, FBI, middle class families, parenthood) after 9/11 no history or sociology book will show it as clear as The Sopranos. It's not just a show, it's a history lesson, a cultural event on its own. Breaking Bad, The Shield, all that trash is fine. Fun stuff, how will Walter get out of this one? Oh boy Vic sure is fricked now! Then something nonsensical happens and the entire episode has no consequences, repeat for five season and you have them. Fine television I guess, nowhere near The Sopranos of course.
But more than that The Sopranos is the best dark comedy in television EVER. Objectively the funniest show of all time if your IQ is over 100. Drama vs drama the sopranos is clearly superior but there's another quality to it in which there's no competition. Enjoy whatever you want, but the sopranos is a once in a lifetime thing.
tl;dr people claiming any of those shows is better than the sopranos are unironically filtered
Breaking bad fans like to have fun and likes to have sex.
Sopranogays are like Rick and morty morons. TOO DEEP FOR YOU.
you already know the answer.
Every single show/film that has a TOO DEEP FOR You fanbase are automatically garbage.
I don’t care which is better. Honest question though, what other stuff has James Gandofini been good in? I saw him in some other shit but he always came off as a one trick pony to me in anything besides sopranos
Realism:
The old man about to rat on Tony suddenly having a heart attack is the most ridiculous shit ever but I can admit that the plane thing from breaking bad is just as ridiculous but the fact that it happened again when one of Tony's capos need to be replaced by Ralphie. At least there's an explanation for the plane accident but but in sopranos it's just multiple asspulls.
Breaking bad-1
Sopranos-0
consistency:
Breaking bad had 1 mediocre episode (fly) I don't think its bad I loved it but I'll add it just to be fair
Sopranos had like 3 or more bad episode d day, the rapper episode, christopher Columbus episode, granny mistress episode.
Breaking bad-2
Sopranos-0
I could go on and on but on every single aspect breaking bad is just better.
Wdym? the cartel' s obsession about muh 99 % purity is the most unrealistic shit ever. The show's entire premise demands the viewer to stretch their brain cells thin.
Ray Curto' s death was a little convenient but is still consistent with the show' s supernatural elements. And the writers could have EASILY dealt with Ray in any other way that satisfies muh realistgays but chose not to because the heart attack serves a specific purpose in the show.
>fly episode is mediocre >Opinion discarded
I didn't say it is but it's the only badly received breaking bad episode so I wanted to be fair.
I don't care about the "supernatural elements" because one fact remains:
Soprano has every single flaws/criticism you can say about breaking bad but amped up to eleven.
That automatically makes it the better show.
Concession my ass. You're the one who can't ever refute my points above.
Which one is more realistic? Breaking bad, Which one is more consistent? Breaking bad, etc.
And Which one is better? Of course it's breaking bad.
now I accept your concession.

Now that's clear that sopranos is better, the real question is: will we EVER get a show as good as that kino again? HBO doesn't seem capable anymore and no one else is making anything in the same league as them, it's looking pretty ogre to me kinobros
Concession my ass. You're the one who can't ever refute my points above.
Which one is more realistic? Breaking bad, Which one is more consistent? Breaking bad, etc.
And Which one is better? Of course it's breaking bad.

its not even close. I really like BB but Sopranos literally is the greatest show ever made. not just dialogue and acting but what the show is trying to tell at its core just automatically puts it above anything else.
there might be stuff that's as good, but nothing can surpass it
>the "I'm acting" voice
what the frick is this phenomenon
you can immediately tell when people are doing this shit in real life too or bad at lying altogether
Can't really compare them sopranos is realistic and gritty (except for all the afterlife shit) while BB is highly dramatized and completely unrealistic. Both are good shows but I see BB as more of a thriller while sopranos has much more emotional depth.
The Sopranos. It was much more self aware and had better dialogue. There are so many moments in Breaking Bad where the viewer is meant to think Walter is a cool badass whereas with Tony, you know he's a despicable, wholly unliveable human being the entire time and the show doesn't try to redeem him at all.
Sopranos >half the show is just insecure fat man
I can get that at a McDonald’s or supermarket when kids laugh at the mobility scooters
BrBa >dude what shark can we jump next while reciting a year one chemistry textbook
Mad men the soap opera and BCS the show that hasn’t been relevant for years are both better

>Says BrBa might be le reddit show
>Then gets pouty & upset about the sopranos ranking on IMDB
Anon you are the reddit crowd
If you like Breaking Bad, you will like the Fast and the Furious.
If you like the Sopranos, you will like the Godfather.
I think Breaking bad is more consistantly good. It never gets outstanding, but it never gets awful either. Sopranos has some of the most kino moments in TV, but it also has some really poorly written/acted/thought out episodes in later seasons. Both endings are good, with equally fitting payoffs.
>Breaking bad is more consistantly good
oh yea those scenes with Marie stealing and Flynn drooling on himself are amazing
Worse than scenes of dying or cgi livia and Vitos gay shit?
the vito homosexual arc was funny
Vito is pure kino though, you got filtered hard
vito being a homosexual was a troll by the writers, the actor kept bugging them to write him more scenes so they turned him into a homosexual. kino.
For me, it's Breaking Bad.
Sopranos fans: Young, petulant, insecure, quick to anger.
Breaking Bad fans: Older, wiser, insightful, calm.
>the older show has young fans and the zoomer show has old fans
???
You act like younger kids don't latch onto older shit to larp as "mature adults" and brag about their refined taste. Kids complaining about being born in the wrong generation is nothing new
Sopranos fans: patricians
Breaking reddit fans: plebs
Simple as
Sopranos fans: Older, wiser, insightful, petulant, insecure, quick to anger.
Breaking Bad fans: Young, calm.
Lying. Satan' s oldest trick
trips of truth
see
They are kind of insecure. Probably because their fanbase is a fraction of BrBa's fanbase
Correct
Cinemaphile hypes up the sopranos way too much. It hasn’t aged well. Watch The Shield if you looking for an early 2000’s crime drama with actual payoff (and a better anti-hero).
>sopranos
>hasn't aged well
HAHAHAHAHA
tell me you literally suck wieners without telling me you literally suck wieners
homosexual
The Shield is kino and Vic is one of the best protagonists ever.
The Sopranos and it's not close. Anyone saying anything else is either a huge plebe or memeing, don't @ me I have no time for either
Every single show/film that has a TOO DEEP FOR You fanbase are automatically garbage.
>i'm low IQ and long words make my head hurt therefore I'm based
Your average zoomer, ladies and gentlemen
I don’t care which is better. Honest question though, what other stuff has James Gandofini been good in? I saw him in some other shit but he always came off as a one trick pony to me in anything besides sopranos
Actors like him and Jon Hamm are always going to be known for their TV roles so I guess in a way it doesn't matter.
And the writers could have EASILY dealt with Ray in any other way that satisfies muh realistgays but chose not to because the heart attack serves a specific purpose in the show.
>fly episode is mediocre
Opinion discarded
>fly episode is mediocre
>Opinion discarded
I didn't say it is but it's the only badly received breaking bad episode so I wanted to be fair.
I don't care about the "supernatural elements" because one fact remains:
Soprano has every single flaws/criticism you can say about breaking bad but amped up to eleven.
That automatically makes it the better show.
>waah I don' t care *babby covers his ears*
I accept your concession
Concession my ass. You're the one who can't ever refute my points above.
Which one is more realistic? Breaking bad, Which one is more consistent? Breaking bad, etc.
And Which one is better? Of course it's breaking bad.
now I accept your concession.
>Which one is more realistic? Breaking bad
yeah anon the remote controlled machine gun taking out an entire compound full of neo-nazis was very grounded and realistic
Still more realistic than the heart attack guy.
ESPECIALLY WHEN HE'S ABOUT TO RAT ON TONY.
at least the machine gun was possible on Mythbusters.
>old italian men having heart attacks is unrealistic
whatever you say anon
>Which one is more realistic? Breaking bad
Imagine typing this unironically
Agreed, but fly is cool episode
Now that's clear that sopranos is better, the real question is: will we EVER get a show as good as that kino again? HBO doesn't seem capable anymore and no one else is making anything in the same league as them, it's looking pretty ogre to me kinobros
soipranogays samegayging thread
samegayging Hispanic, how's it feel having me live rent free in ur head? gonna spam some more threads like the angry troony you are? gonna go crying to the jannies and get me banned again because i called ur favourite heckin show "reddit"?
Breaking Bad
Better Call Saul or Mindhunters.
what's the Cinemaphile equivalent of idort?
The Sopranos could be a masterpiece if it actually had a plot
The Wire.
At least you've got a world of exploration with loads of characters and side stories.
Breaking Bad and The Sopranos are one-dimensional with boring characters and weekly bad guy feel.
its not even close. I really like BB but Sopranos literally is the greatest show ever made. not just dialogue and acting but what the show is trying to tell at its core just automatically puts it above anything else.
there might be stuff that's as good, but nothing can surpass it
Boardwalk Empire is better than both
Better call Saul
Mad Men
sopranos s6 is pretty bad and s5 isnt good either, not to mention the cinicism. bb wins easily
s6 has the best scene of the show where the Black person rapper gets shot in the ass
Anyone who thinks that the fricking Sopranos is better than Breaking Bad is an actual subhuman
who actually lives in New Mexico?
Sopranos isn't an offender of the "I'm acting" voice that Cranston and others do.
but he does le i'm acting deep breathing
>the "I'm acting" voice
what the frick is this phenomenon
you can immediately tell when people are doing this shit in real life too or bad at lying altogether
this tbh his stupid fricking laugh at the end of crawl space is peak reddit
the wire
Bros are Johnny cakes actually good
Can't really compare them sopranos is realistic and gritty (except for all the afterlife shit) while BB is highly dramatized and completely unrealistic. Both are good shows but I see BB as more of a thriller while sopranos has much more emotional depth.
Breaking Bad is a great show. Sopranos is a masterpiece.
No in-between allowed. One of them HAS to be shit
On the first go around? Probably Sopranos, but it's very close.
Rewatching? Sopranos by a mile.
Sopranos
>half the show is just insecure fat man
I can get that at a McDonald’s or supermarket when kids laugh at the mobility scooters
BrBa
>dude what shark can we jump next while reciting a year one chemistry textbook
Mad men the soap opera and BCS the show that hasn’t been relevant for years are both better
The Wire is better than both
For me, it's the Sopranos.
I'm never going to watch breaking bad because of that dubstep car scene i saw
>next to zero rewatchability
premium bait
