It completely ruins Skinner's character, so their argument is that who cares there's no continuity between episodes anyway. That's obviously the mark of a good episode.
I always felt the jokes were great because Skinner is the same dorky guy you've always known him as and a lot of good character driven drama trying to get him to come back. Just a shame what it meant for the character as a whole and the future of the show because the writers really don't give a shit about any continuity despite there STILL being a solid continuity.
I find marge vs cartoons stranger. Maggie gets violent over itchy and scratchy. Marge rallies against them. Manages to censor them. It has positive effect on children.
Then David comes to town. Other housewives want to censor it. Marge dosent. Becouse its art.
Now studio takes Marge as hypocrite and walk back on censorship. Episode ends whit Marge admiting everyone should stay on their lane.
So what was message? Don't be mad against cartoons? Even when they make arguments for it. Maggie got violent. No cartoons made kids play outside. Yet Marge admit she was wrong.
Maybe the message is that you need to raise YOUR children instead of wasting time on censoring stuff because you are too lazy to not watch over your kids and would rather let the TV do it for you.
It has good jokes but it ruins everything about Skinner, and that's a joke itself at the end where they say nobody should ever mention or talk about this ever again
Sneed's Feed & Seed (formerly Chuck's). Also, "Bart's Fart & Shart" doesn't make any sense because the store wasn't called "Feed & Sheed" under Sneed's ownership so stop posting it.
Neither have I, I just assume that's what this particular instance is defending because they feel the need to get defensive about obviously low quality things nowadays.
It's always the Principal and the Pauper. They always defend it as "people hate it because they don't get the super smart super obscure literature and real life incident this is based on, trust us we're super smart it's a great episode". They're salty the world hates that episode.
I would respect them more if they committed to the fact that Skinner isn't who he says he is and all future episodes has this new shit Tamzarian instead.
you mean, like in the Mark Twain novel?
if it's the case,it was still a very bad episode and completely shat over a well established and beloved character just for the sake of one episode
Many fans don't consider it canon, noticed how " Armin Tamzarian" was never brought up again (unless some zombie fan would like to correct me). Putting that aside the jokes and production of that episode is still average, especially if you compare it to future episode. That's not saying much as the season deteriorate as the number gets higher but unless you're a Gen-xer who watched the episode and it retcon Skinner's backstory, I don't get the controversy. We know the writers erase "Tamzarian", the fear I feel with audiences disgust is Skinner suddenly and completely shifting away from the development he had 9 seasons pass. That's why I argue putting that aside since we know he's no longer the impostor it was an average episode. The worst episode? Just pick any zombie episode, watch anyone and then Principal and the Pauper and tell me that it's a bad episode.

skinner fraud episode
it's a kino episode
It's an okay episode looking at a standalone point of view. If you're a lore nerd than of course you'll get your panties in a bunch.
It completely ruins Skinner's character, so their argument is that who cares there's no continuity between episodes anyway. That's obviously the mark of a good episode.

That episode filters people hard.

tomacco
the one where homer is raped by a panda
The episode you’re gonna have every night, after I’m through with you
Sadgasm or Lady Gaga because they're the worst episodes I can think of.
Ive never seen any of the writers try to defend Lisa goes Gaga though
Neither have I, I just assume that's what this particular instance is defending because they feel the need to get defensive about obviously low quality things nowadays.
The bar school shooting one
It's always the Principal and the Pauper. They always defend it as "people hate it because they don't get the super smart super obscure literature and real life incident this is based on, trust us we're super smart it's a great episode". They're salty the world hates that episode.
I just think several of the armin tamzarian jokes are funny
I would respect them more if they committed to the fact that Skinner isn't who he says he is and all future episodes has this new shit Tamzarian instead.
>super smart super obscure literature and real life incident this is based on
Elaborate?
My wiki doesn't work.
idk what real life event but The Prince and the Pauper is a story where a prince and poor guy switch places it's been reference a ton.
That's actually the plot from that Eddie Murphy movie
you mean, like in the Mark Twain novel?

a pile of shit is still shit, now matter if later episodes are bigger piles
>unless some zombie fan would like to correct me
I watched well into season 17, they do indeed bring it back up again.
No, it's the story of Martin Guerre, which would also inspire Don Draper.
I hate they pulled the same shit with Don Draper in Mad Men. I literally said out loud that 'Simpsons did it!"
homer sexual
the one where homer thinks bart will turn gay.
I miss Phil Hartman
His good friend Andy Dick didn't

Homer beats up a troony

Homer vs. the Eighteenth Amendment is the greatest Simpson episode. It balances both it's sitcom-ness and cartoonish antics very well.
>sitcom-ness and cartoonish antics
What the frick does that even mean?

its weird how many Asians love the Simpsons and South Park when they're full of pop culture references and parodies
Lisa goes Gaga
That one where homer gets raped by a fricking panda bear as an entire crowd including his young daughter cheer and burns laughs perversely. What were they thinking?
"Ok, people. Family Guy and Monday Night RAW are trouncing us in the ratings. We need some edgy, subversive humor to make our audience love us again."
Since OP is a gay it was The Principal and the Pauper

Not the worst episode, not even a bad episode. Stop being such b***hes right
BUT MUH CONTINUITY

Probably that one episode where the elephant eats some kind of rodent and Lisa sheers a sheep that turns out to be a hairy rat. Really odd episode.
Guessing it's probably the Michael Jackson episode as it's the only one they pulled from Disney+ if I'm not mistaken.
