Terminator. It was an idea for 1 movie. No idea why they wanted to turn it into a franchise but at this point the franchise is a mess with multiple dead end time lines.

Half the franchises there should never have gotten sequels in the first place. I'd say Star Wars since it's not only become shit, but it's now embarrassing to even admit you ever liked it. Least ruined is Dr. Who I guess since it was always shit.

Doctor Who and Indiana Jones are the most fricked up lores right now, but it’s not totally unsalvageable. All the ip owners have to do is come forward and sincerely apologize to the fan base for listening to the feminists and set all the offending anti-fanfiction on fire.

Star Wars and it's not even close. It's probably the most culturally relevant thing in that pic and has been reduced to a laughingstock with no hope of redemption.

Other things like Doctor Who may also be unsalvageably bad by this point, but they didn't fall from a cultural height as high as Star Wars did.

Star Wars for sure. Shitty new products don't ruin something on its own, but Disney boxed it in by banishing all the EU shit and focusing billions of dollars on a poorly-performing female first angle. It's totally fricked and money is keeping it fricked.

Star Wars and Star Trek are having the everloving shit flogged out of them; endless shitty TV shows dumped straight onto streaming. They're the worst.

Doctor Who is completely fricked but there is only the one main series that makes maybe 8 episodes a year (if that).

    Harry Potter was never good.

Ghostbusters, Aliens, Terminator & Jurassic "World" are all completely fricked but at least we only get a new film every couple of years or so.

The LoTR trilogy will never be diminished by the Hobbit craptacular or the Amazon fanseries, as bad as they are. As long as they never remake Jacksons' kino, it'll be alright.

Robocop ceased to be a franchise back in 2014, unless something else is happening I don't know about.
The Rogue City game was good though.

Star Trek, Star Wars, Ghostbusters, Alien, Terminator, Indiana Jones and JP have simply lost too much along the way - the current iterations just ain't it and without serious reform they're complete write-offs and have been for a while. In some instances there's simply no going back and the franchise/character/setting has peaked and that'll always be the case.

Harry Potter was never good, the worldbuilding in the books is ok and there's about an hour of decent cinema across the first four movies but we can pass that by.

Robocop was clearly a fluke and the character has been squandered since.

LoTR is done and has been for decades. The action movies were certainly an improvement on the animated versions but the books can't and won't be topped or replaced.

      >Harry Potter was never good.
Oddly enough it was also never ruined (yet), it's the one thing in those 12 franchises in OP that has no truly humiliating installments

Terminator's the one that pissed me off the most because the hopeful message of "the future isn't written" just gets more and more diminished. In the last movie, Skynet was offscreened and it finally never created in the first place, but another AI was made instead (fricking Legion) which was way worse and had even more advanced terminators (yes it also invents terminators) so why bother trying when it's clearly all fricked anyway.

I think the best chance terminator had was with Terminator Salvation. They could have done an entire series about how the resitence was born, how Skynet's forces evolved and how they finally won.

Of these I would say Terminator, Dr. Who, and Indy have taken the worst “hits.”
Killing Indy’s son off screen left a bad taste in my mouth. I hate seeing classic hero characters bereaved. Honestly, I felt like Crystal Skull was, if nothing else, a far better send off for Indy.
Dr. Who being terrible is obvious. They went to trying to push trite social commentary instead of focusing on fun adventures in time and space.
Terminator is a complete fricking mess where each new movie seems to just undo all of the ones that came before.

A lot of people are saying Star Wars, but I think it's tied with Star Trek, and for many of the same reasons.
    >Insanely high highs
    >Sells tons of merch (especially Wars)
    >Influences a couple generations (NASA was staffed almost exclusively by trekkies from the '80s to the 2010s)
    >Got bad
    >Got so bad that the above times seem like solid gold in comparison
    >Still going
    >Now actively and explicitly insults original fandom
    >Plotline retconned beyond any salvation by endless prequels and interquels to the point the originals are either noncanon or everyone in them was secretly moronic

I'd say Star Wars or LoTR.
I prefer the Alien, Predator, and Terminator franchises which have obviously gone to shit, but they haven't/aren't getting fricked as bad as SW or LoTR. The only franchise that's got done dirtier than tnose two, and maybe Doctor Who, is the Dragon Ball franchise.

      >SW or LoTR. The only franchise that's got done dirtier than tnose two,
I envy your ignorance of the utter insult that is STD. A show about a black dyke who's the incarnation of every girlboss trope, and the entire show revolves around her. Every previous Star Trek show was an ensemble cast, or at least had a couple viewpoint characters, but this is the Michael Burnham show (oh btw she's got a boy's name, does that make you angry, chud?) Oh, and she's the secret sister of Spock (who's better than him at everything) that no one ever mentioned or even hinted at because reasons. And that's just one of the shows.
