Wb has tried 2 or 3 times over the years to do a Lobo movie since the 90s, issue is theyve always wanted it as either a PG or pg13 movie.
If I remember right there was actually a rough script out at one point where they wanted to do a movie with Nubo but it got shat on hard and fast.

I still think Nubo was supposed to be DC's pitch for a cinematic Lobo, in the vein of how some comics seemed to be made with the hope of being adapted into movies. They made the character less ugly and violent, and gave him a more realistic, human build that could get filled in by an actor.
