You can see him throw one of those explosive spears just before Morsov lands with his two spears.

Also why all the other war boys are cheering you can see Ace throw a little V8 prayer pose for Morsov.

Okay good, because I looked it up randomly online and looks like most people think that Morsov actually got the kill and that Slit just shouted "m-mediocre" like a tsundere unimpressed girlfriend.
Ace was played by a non-actor, some south african guy who provided security for the film crew against the real war boys (the ones that don't do white paint if you know what I mean). He asked to be part of the movie as part of his payment.

Unless you're someone like the Organic Mechanic, Immortan would make you a warboy and you'd be constantly forced to work or go on dangerous mission where you're expected to die for the cause.
Dementus is just a charismatic mob leader. You could easily lose yourself in his horde and do whatever the frick you want in the background.
I will never forgive Miller for ruining Immortan Joe's legacy. Just focus on the other characters then. The prequel was a mistake.
