          I mean, this is the thing right? Horror movies generally have absolutely terrible scores on things. Honestly the only place I can get honest reviews from people who "get" horror is Amazon reviews. Even Imdb is insufferably holier-than-thou. But there's a keen difference between all other horror directors and Peele that gets him those high scores...

    I would say Carpenter, but he didn't have three great horror films in a row. They were all broken up by non-horror films. Maybe Hooper. His run from Texas Chain Saw Massacre to Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 were all pretty good and were all horror. Argento and Cronenberg would work as well. Probably some I'm missing too

          You have to keep in mind, we didn't have YT back in the day. There wasn't nearly as much variety. Movies that wouldn't pass muster today have rested on nostalgia factor for decades, and if you say otherwise you're a pleb. Craven has made some good movies, but he's made exponentially more shit.
