It's because the people writing them aren't intelligent, so they don't know how. Just look at that Sherlock TV series, they wrote it like he had superpowers, because intelligence looks like magic to them.
>Why do they not write intelligent characters anymore?
Probably because it's hard. How do you write an intelligent character without being intelligent? If you're not as smart as your character, then the writing will be like this anon said:

The modern world's current focus seems to be on inclusivity. If you make a movie or even a character that represents smart people, what percentage of the audience are you appealing to? Do you know what I mean? It's not relatable for the people watching.
But what about the mid range band redditor audience? I mean even Rick and Morty and that Science! The Shit Out of This Matt Damon are pretty old at this point and now there are no characters that are even dumb person smart. I guess at least Saw XI is coming out next year. Who knows what he will get up to next.

I don't know what that means, but good writing still exists, and you just have to broaden your interests. This game has smart characters, of varying intelligence levels. I played it to completion, and I was very happy with it. I feel like every type of person is represented in the game. When you listen to someone like Gale, it sounds like you're listening to an intelligent person, which is what's lacking from modern media.
You better not be trying to say Rick and Morty is intelligent. I liked the early seasons, but it was never smart, the humour was in how moronic it was.
No, I'm putting it forward as an example of posturing intelligence for stupid people and also pointing out that we don't even really get that any more.
In that case, I'd say something like Three Body Problem counts as a recent one. Basically, any show that might reference a concept or event that normies generally have never encountered before gets praise for being smart when it isn't.
Well, the MCU is trying to rebuild itself based on the FF whose whole point is that they're scientific explorers and Reed's the smartest gigabrain ever, so there's that.
I don't really believe that Tony was smart. Then again, I probably have the same IQ as him, and I'm not a genius either. I suppose it's fine. I just don't see why someone intelligent would kill people, instead of being an honest businessman.
I think Tony is a decently accurate depiction of someone of above average intelligence. Him being noticeably more intelligence than the other goons doesn't preclude him being egotistical, arrogant, uneducated and pseudo-intellectual.
>Him being noticeably more intelligence than the other goons doesn't preclude him being egotistical, arrogant, uneducated and pseudo-intellectual.
Right, so I'm exactly like Tony. I'm smarter than the average person sharing my interests, but not smart enough to be a rich person. The only thing I questioned was his morality. I'm not sure how someone justifies killing other people for monetary gain.
Ah, that makes sense. So the difference between me and Tony is in the empathy department. I can't really hurt other people, unless they want to hurt me, or innocents. That makes sense. He was just wired different.
Not necessarily. He was born a billionaire and had access to way more resources than Joker. Like all superhero films, it as an implicit reification of the power, necessity, and justification of the state.
Why do they not write intelligent characters anymore? Is intelligence being lost as a value?

That is Chinese though.

Lol. It's funny because they casted a guy named Pedro. It doesn't even matter, because the writing wasn't going to be good anyway.
And Hannibal
Thought Clyde Shelton was a pretty cool guy
>out of the existence
>5 years later they still follow his 1 of of 14 millions scenario
nothing beats Sheev
He beat the game.
He had an IQ of one-thirty-six (it's been teshted)

He has a personality disorder of some kind, he's not a normal person.
Ah, that makes sense. So the difference between me and Tony is in the empathy department. I can't really hurt other people, unless they want to hurt me, or innocents. That makes sense. He was just wired different.
A bipolar mother and a death in the family will do that do you.
Yeah. It's crazy.
These are all smart characters written by dumb people.
>"JigC is dumb!"
Idiot.
whom?
>I got caught on le purpose
Super intelligent.
You're final challenge
Let your bih go thru your phone!!!
I'm glad I don't have a bih, or my bih would find 400 images of my waifu.
Could she actually defeat him?
>smartest and most cunning
Kurgan was self-aware of his brutality yet always had a sound and emotionless plan
Keyser Söze
Could he actually have any chance of defeating Saw's iconic villain?
Batman was smarter than Joker, since he beat him.
Not necessarily. He was born a billionaire and had access to way more resources than Joker. Like all superhero films, it as an implicit reification of the power, necessity, and justification of the state.
>outsmarts every character posted in the thread
He would get absolutely mindrocked by JigC.
