the women were ok in those days, at least they knew their place in those days and let the men be funny while they just played the straight roles like the wife. SNL turned into a show for chicks during the Tina Fey years and it was downhill ever since
Jan Hooks was the best female SNL cast member because she played all of her roles seriously. Every other female SNL cast member in every era plays their roles overly silly and fake and they suck. That Shwetty Balls sketch with Alec Baldwin is memorable because it’s played with total seriousness.

after Jan left in 91, i think they realized the woman cast was kinda weak during the Farley/Sandler era because they kept bringing her back as a special guest a lot, like it was kinda telling they didnt trust the big Hillary Clinton role with the women they had and just kept bringing Jan back every week to do it instead
Jan left shortly after one of the anniversary shows where she observed they cast her as a prostitute in three sketches on the same episode
Designing Women was beneath her but I understand
I don’t even remember who the blond woman was? I remember the Pat comedian and the dyke looking black woman who would just play straight roles or play like Oprah if they needed her.
she used to do funny impressions of Jan Brady and Tori Spelling, played a lot of valley girl airhead type characters
she also did a Blossom sketch once and just this past week Mayim Bialik wrote some op-ed all seething still about that sketch and how they had her wear a big fake israelite nose to play her lol

Melanie Hutsel, also made a good Tonya Harding in a bunch of sketches when it was the topical news story of 1994
Weird they included Franken in the cast picture wasn’t he more of a writer? I guess he occasionally on screen when they’d do the Stuart Smalley sketches
any of the Bob Dole sketches (my favorite is Real World with Bob Dole)
any of the Stan Hooper sketches (my personal favorite was Bible Challenge)
Norm as Letterman sketch
any of the Jeopardys with Norm as Burt
the cobras vs panthers sketch
>twilight zone >lou gerig disease >the singing streat gangs >the one where Silvester Stalone rescues norm from a car crash and Norm makes fun of of the movies he stared in >Jepordy
I legitimately forgot about those. I'll go commit seppuku.
>twilight zone >lou gerig disease >the singing streat gangs >the one where Silvester Stalone rescues norm from a car crash and Norm makes fun of of the movies he stared in >Jepordy
The one where Tic Tac Toe is an actual game show and Norm has to Hammer all the X's and O's individually
kek thats a good one, I remember Norm on NML talking about how pissed he was at Bill Pullman for hamming it up so much on the air and almost ruining the sketch, watching again Norm has a point, Pullmans trying to pull all the attention on himself
>twilight zone >lou gerig disease >the singing streat gangs >the one where Silvester Stalone rescues norm from a car crash and Norm makes fun of of the movies he stared in >Jepordy
anyone remember the one with Norm playing the Men Are From Mars Women Are from Venus" author as flamingly gay? havent seen that one in years (probably since it first aired) cant believe i finally found it somewhere just now, sorry its on reddit but at least its the Norm subreddi,t one of the few non-gay areas if reddits
this was when Norm was at his most "i dont give a rats ass if the audience finds this funny im still gonna do this sketch thats only funny to me" god bless him
his Andy Rooney sketch was another great Norm seeing how much he can test the audiences patience sketch

3. Norm MacDonald
4. Eddie Murphy
5. Chris Farley
6. Jan Hooks
7. Kevin Nealon
8. Cheri Oteri
9. Tim Meadows
10. Jon Lovitz
Breuer's Joe Pesci sketches were great. Goatboy was funny when I was in middle school anyway. i also used to love his old Pulp Comics special they used to air to death on Comedy Central in the late 90s
the story of how he came up with Goat Boy is probably funnier than the actual Goat Boy sketches
also a legendary Stern and O&A guest back in the old days. hes kinda turned full Cumia in recent years and just goes on angry Fox News boomer rants, kinda sad what hes turned into cuz he used to be funny
yeah hes pretty much the reason I cant watch late 90s SNL, liked the rest of that cast but he was kinda the star player in that era and he just did his loud annoying LOL YELLING = HILARIOUS!! shtick in every sketch
this the early incarnation of that era, when they had Steve Carell's wife and Todd Packer and the Kids in the Hall dude were there for a little while. Also David Spade stuck around one season too long after Farley Sandler and the rest of his cast left. Tim Meadows stayed too for like another 5 or 6 years too after already being there for the whole Sandler era, he was like the Kenan of that time, the black guy who didnt have no projects to move onto lol
the Will Ferrell cast didnt really gel more until Tracy Morgan and Ana Gasteyer came in the next year

>getting rid of david koekner and nancy carell for tracy morgan and chris kattan
damn talk about a downgrade that following season
koechner was great even though he was only there one season he made the most of it, i liked his character who told bad jokes who for some reason was supposed to be Norms brother, usually the character appeared on Weekend Update doing the same shtick, this was one of the times he had a sketch on his own where hes still referred to as Gary MacDonald but no mention of him being Norms brother
Get out of here, that little drunk homosexual couldn't hold Carson's slot. Imagine him fake-laughing to every guest or worse, trying to do musical sketches on the Tonight Show.
No seriously is he in rehab somewhere like Gary Kroeger doing ads for LensCrafters?
>watch what is considered the greatest SNL skect of all time >matt foley van by the river >its a fat guy yelling for 5 minutes
Americans consider this funny?
Norm
That's it
That's it, Norm's officially overrated.
Good job homosexual
We dont sign our posts here
This was the best cast. The women were the only ones that sucked and there were only 3 of them and that one lady had the It’s Just Pat sketches.
the women were ok in those days, at least they knew their place in those days and let the men be funny while they just played the straight roles like the wife. SNL turned into a show for chicks during the Tina Fey years and it was downhill ever since
Man, high school is gonna be rough for you.

Seen her lounge singer sketch where she sings to Paul Simon?
I don’t even remember who the blond woman was? I remember the Pat comedian and the dyke looking black woman who would just play straight roles or play like Oprah if they needed her.

is that Darlene from Roseanne as Jenna von Oy?
yeah
I wish someone played the alcoholic brother from the blossom show
Was that the dude who was in Freaked?
yeah I guess it was
weirdly he became a comedy writer in later years after Blossom, think he wrote for Mr. Show and a few seasons on Conan at some point in the late 90s
>the nervous self-conscious laughter of the israeliteesses in the audience when the big nose is presented up close and center
mediocre israelites riding that tribal nepotism are so annoying
Melanie Hutsel, also made a good Tonya Harding in a bunch of sketches when it was the topical news story of 1994

Name five Norm sketches that aren't Weekend Update.
any of the Bob Dole sketches (my favorite is Real World with Bob Dole)
any of the Stan Hooper sketches (my personal favorite was Bible Challenge)
Norm as Letterman sketch
any of the Jeopardys with Norm as Burt
the cobras vs panthers sketch

I don't think Pullman got the point of the sketch.

His most Kino sketch where he played Tarantino
lel was gonna mention this one then forgot to, every now and then he'd surprise us with a dead-on impression like that
I'm glad he never overdid this one it's so fucking good.

Just in terms of funny skits and not being in every skit
Jim Bruer
Chris Parnell
Darrell Hammond
Tim Meadows
Norm
bruer was never funny. Hurrdurr goatboy haha really top comedy bit
It was funny enough for Carlos Mencia to steal a portion of that bit though.
I forgot that man existed, please consider penance
"you can put your weed in there" was pretty funny
that was a Rob Schneider character
oh yeah my bad
Breuer's Joe Pesci sketches were great. Goatboy was funny when I was in middle school anyway. i also used to love his old Pulp Comics special they used to air to death on Comedy Central in the late 90s

dan ackroyd
sandler
mike myers
belushi
jimbreuer

Despite SNL really really sucking for like idk 20 years, it had some really fantastic pedigree of talent through the years.
John Belushi, stellar
Phil Hartman, stand up act
Dan Akroyd, amazing
Bill Murray,
Norm Macdonald, legend
so many more, you have to mention Chris Farley, Gilda Radner, etc.
it's like a cliche, but there was so much talent there, gone now, gone
the last time I tried to watch SNL it almost killed me from cringe. tired, strained, pointless
Phil Hartman
Chris Farley
Dana Carvey
Will Ferrell
Michael Myers
Chris Farely
Adam Sandler
Phil Hartman
Will Ferrell (despite how much of a homosexual he became)
Eddie Murphy
Norm wasn't really a performer. Best Weekend Update. Funniest guy that was around, just not a good sketch guy or movie guy.
Ferrell understood his job there was Well Behaved Chevy Chase
Will Ferrell is annoying. He's just a loud guy.
yeah hes pretty much the reason I cant watch late 90s SNL, liked the rest of that cast but he was kinda the star player in that era and he just did his loud annoying LOL YELLING = HILARIOUS!! shtick in every sketch

That useless cunt who played French Stewart here, did shitty musical bits and constantly corpsed during sketches, did anything ever become of him
what jimmy falon? when he wasn't in fims he has hosted one of the zombie late night shows for several years now
Get out of here, that little drunk homosexual couldn't hold Carson's slot. Imagine him fake-laughing to every guest or worse, trying to do musical sketches on the Tonight Show.
No seriously is he in rehab somewhere like Gary Kroeger doing ads for LensCrafters?
Chevy Chase and the original cast
nuSNL is so fucking bad
>best SNL cast member of the last decade
>appeared in zero skits
HOW DOES HE DO IT?
1. chevy chase
2. randy quaid
3. jim belushi
4. joe pisscopo
5. rob schnedier
jim? he was on the show but not sure if you meant john
nope, i said jim and i meant jim!
maybe he's the worst because I remember they just threw him on the show to fool people into thinking it was still john
Jim Belushi is based, he made some great kinos in the 80s
best weekend update hosts
1. Colin Quinn
2. Dennis Miller
3. Kevin Nealon
4. Charles Rocket
5. Jane Curtin
thats right no Norm on my list, deal with it! he sucked and was reddit!
>colin quinn at number one
