I honestly kind of enjoyed this performance, I mean if you're watching the Fast franchise at this point, unless you're a Hispanic dudebro, you're watching because of how stupid it is. I like when they lean into it and go really over the top.

I will bet any amount of money that he signed the contract before he watched the other films, realized how bad it all ways, and decided to just frick the whole thing up by being a stupid goofball butthole since he's always cast as this super serious warrior dude and he's probably never going to get a chance like this again.

Legitimately like the character also, his existence just underlines how moronic the entire premise of the franchise is.

Vin Diesel is a loser who came up with a point system so that his character never loses a fight in F&F.

Every character has hidden stats like a video game, every attack does recorded damage, and Vin basically cheated his character sheet to never lose.

Vin Diesel, and The Rock used a point system in the FNF movies where different kinds of punches, kicks, body slams, etc have different point values. The number of and type of hits characters dealt and took were recorded and at the end of every fight the combatants' point values had to equal each other's so that neither character ever "won" or "lost", or Vin/Pebble had the higher point total at the end meaning they never lose. It's absolute insecure derangement.

              Anonymous

It's not even really them, it's Hollywood, in Who Framed Roger Rabbit they were only able to get Bugs Bunny and Mickey Mouse on the same screen if they said the exact same number of words, so jealous were Warner and Disney of their IPs. Well the Rock literally IS the IP, that character is worth a billion dollars, and Vin isn't far behind.

Of course to us this means nothing but if Vin and Rock fight and one loses, 12 year olds will cite it as proof that the other is the superior warrior forever, and that will hurt the loser's sales. The sort of people who watch FNF are the sort of people who would still care about this nonsense into adulthood.

I don't think the film failed because of him. He's the only one in the cast who really seemed to want to be there. Even Disel seems to be doing his usual office job in order to have money.

So, after being an invincible villain throughout the whole movie, are they going to decide to give him the Poochie treatment?

When you're playing the villain your entire job is to give the audience something entertaining to engage with, so being whacky can work. Example: Wes Snipes in Demolition Man is the same premise basically, but in a much better movie with better direction.

I think honestly what kills FNF movies as real work is that the directors don't help the actors at all, this legitimately feels like Mamoa talking to himself in the mirror, there are never conversations, just monologues, he's talking to himself in the mirror and the lighting is good when he's doing it in the mirror, his facial expressions are perfectly excentuated in the mirror, but then they go to fricking Brazil and it's muggy and dusty and overcast and he looks like a Californian Xer on vacation, I was actually shocked when he fell over after Vin Once Upon a Time in Vegas'd him and I saw that he wasn't wearing dad sandals.

I got dragged to the theater by friends for this movie. Only watched the first one and Tokio Drift before this one. I have to say that Fast X was by a mile the worst movie I ever watched. Vin Diesel is the worst actor ever, the abysmal "story" was made by and for moronic toddlers, the constant "muh family" shit was absolute cringe. Momoa was the only "good" (i.e. least bad) thing about the movie. Vin Diesel should have gone to jail for this crime against humanity.

His flagrant gayness was one of the few redeeming qualities of the shit show. Fight and stunt choreography were on point as well. I went away enjoying this way more than clumsy Atwell and Mission Impossible do it live motto.

All it was missing was a few real car scenes instead of CGI canyon chaos garbage and it would have been fire.

If they don't pull an iron claw and have Dom race Brian in the afterlife then this whole series will pull a Game.of Thrones and become retroactively unwatchable.

Cliffhanger moment. You don't know if Dom lives or dies. Fade to black. Then Doms voice, "What? did you think this was how it ends? Uh huh. This ain't the end."

Cut to Dom racing pulling ahead, and then Brian pulls up along side him.

    Dom, "Family is forever."
