>Paying for a commission that's essentially a shittier version of what someone else drew for free.
I know it's more for getting something drawn by a(n in)famous person, but that's still pretty shitty.
Was animated in South Korea. I don't agree with the other anon, though.
A lot of cartoons and anime are animated by korean slaves though.
I never liked the hartman shows, sure, they have hot females like maddie, but just that. the humor is shit and development as well. and he, not telling to his fans that he would use the money for religious cartoons is a bad move, Im a believer but I would not play that dirty, specially because I know not all the people is into that or probably they are part of different religions. it would be the same as asking people for doing atheist propaganda
HOWEVER. the whole trace drama is moronic. I think people is saying he trace only because they expected he drawing like stephen silver, the actual designer of his shows
>but they have the same poses as the original pictures
that's eyeballing and that's ok. they would look less shitty if he was actually tracing
It wasn't traced though, he posted a speedpaint process. He just heavily references. With how his drawings usually come out, I don't think he's really a professional illustrator.
>pretty shitty
It's standard you buffoon. Expecting someone to understand a character well enough without hours of research to make a unique expressive character pose for just a single commission is unreasonable.
Most artists just draw their commissions with similar bodies or copy the official art in their style.
If y'all don't know anything about doing art as a job, avoid the topic. You're just pushing unfair expectations
>As if you of all people
This phrase always earns a STFU, this place isn't for anonymous cowards to start their nonsense drama
>It's standard you buffoon >straight up copying someone else's art and calling it "reference"
You're being paid to put your own twist into the art, and you're expected to not just copying the original's pose. clothing and expression using something like "muh reference" as excuse.
This is a worse likeness than what Butch does which goes to show how little you know.
You don't get to make up any rules for commission artists, that's just you trying to shop around your entitlement. If you don't like their commissions, don't hire them, end of story
1. stop being a moron, Butch will not frick you.
2. The dude just straight up copied someone else's work with barely any modification, if this were a court Butch would had lost.
3. You're a fricking waste of air, have a nice day now.
>Butch will not frick you
People should who say this shit should not try to sound intelligent or pretend like they have an "argument." Go home manchild
>Expecting someone to understand a character well enough without hours of research to make a unique expressive character pose for just a single commission is unreasonable.
As a porn artist I can tell you this is utter bullshit
>Copy posing, clothing, expression while passing it as original
At say it's a redraw, you fricking monkey. You could get away with this excuse if you were using the official reference sheet, but this a redraw/copy of another guy's art, brainlet.
>It's standard you buffoon >straight up copying someone else's art and calling it "reference"
You're being paid to put your own twist into the art, and you're expected to not just copying the original's pose. clothing and expression using something like "muh reference" as excuse.
>straight up copying
You truly have no fricking clue what you're talking about > put your own twist into the art
Yeah you draw it in you artstyle you moron
By your logic the traced shit on deviantart is legit, because they are doing on their own artstyle too, fricking moron.

I've already known this before but it's pretty obvious nobody has commissioned you, so don't bring up experience. I've seen anatomy-fricked artists put more effort into their commissions. An artist doesn't have to learn every bit about a character's story, just find some reference art and a pose you'd like to do. You're really defending this garbage
$200 btw

Yeah you draw it in you artstyle you moron
I don't think you understand what he's trying to say.

Shut up you loser doing personal harassment, blowing hot air in obvious frustration. You don't care about the truth, butch hartman, or art.

Gibbering.
I have this one, but I remember there's one with the actual heavy for side-by-side comparison, which makes it strike harder
What "strike harder"? It's just a drawing he did, it speaks to your poor mental state that you expect people to even know why you care so much about it.
You could literally pay a 14-year-old on Deviantart $10 and get something a magnitude better than this.
You should stop running your mouth because it sure feels like a good time to resume drawing fanart of his characters. The last time I did a single drawing in 16 minutes it mindbroke one of you trolls for months
Anyway, you're older than 14 so why don't you show us what you can do

guy
That's my face when moron trolls jealous of real artists spew their mental issues at me and I have to deal with it to fix cartoons for children.
It looks awkward because it reveals the differences in how the two artists do things. The nip artist shows where the eyes are looking through the shape of the eye folds whereas Butch does the more cartoony holdover of physically moving the pupils, which doesn't look good in non-cartoony contexts. Butch was 100% "symbol drawing" what he imagines an "anime style eye" to be and then adjusting its pupil.
Correction, someone directly commissioned him and he redrew someone else's art to fulfill it. Which is worse than if he just redrew it of his own volition.

This Hartman always had a Jack Kirby inspired art style has seen in his current stuff.
Copydrawing without permission of the original artist and without crediting them is just as bad as tracing.
t. actual professional artist. Commissioners have tried to get me to simply copydraw and replace the character numerous times and any actual decent artist will refuse.
Post your artist socials or have a nice day. Unless you're actually working in this industry to some degree your opinion is less than worthless.
also artist here. to me, the customer is the one who should ask permission for that, not me. Im too busy for that shit. in the end, he is the one using his money and he should be the one responding for it. even then I dont like draw actual copies of pictures, I always try to change something, if the customer doest like, he can eat shit
I've straight up refunded some c**t who kept trying to make me 1 to 1 copy a pose. Explicitly stated in the invoice and the application form that I wouldn't do it, and started raising a stink when I explained multiple times to him that I was not about to risk my livelihood being marked as one of those c**ts.
>Unless you're actually working in this industry to some degree your opinion is less than worthless.
What an utterly moronic thing to say you don't need to be part of the industry to know art and two by that logic you had no right to start this conversation without posting your work.

Ridiculous. You can't copyright a fricking pose, and anyone who complains should be simply ignored. On top of that it takes a lot of work to learn how to make a character express themselves like the actual series - actual crew members receive lengthy training to do it properly, which isn't going to take effect for one Commission
Y'all are messed up in the head about artistic matters
Hartman gets way too much hate, literally for being an outspoken Christian.
Its fricking insane. like he didn't sexually harass any one, he did a lot of work (even if I don't like it, loads of people did) and built connections and built a legacy.
the people who hate him come off as insanely spiteful losers.
He might be a total c**t IRL, idk, but jesus christ the people who hate him are fricking crazy.
It almost looks like used a still from that invisible man film starting Chevy Chase and Sam Neil. The one that originated the "man being threatened by a PS3 game" meme.

Based.
Hey Butch. Cured anyone of autism yet?
That actually looks nice.
Westerners should never draw anime stylized characters. It never works.
The Boondocks.
I prefer the look of the comic. It's got that early 2000s Deviant art weeb look.
Was animated in South Korea. I don't agree with the other anon, though.
it's still anime stylized; doesn't matter where the frick it was made.
>Westerners should never draw anime stylized characters
>South Korea
>Westerners
By that logic, anime isn’t Japanese.
>Was animated in South Korea
outsourced animators don't do the character designs moron
USonians you mean. I've seen chileans, argies and people from distant corners of Europe pull it off. But a yank? Never.
So I'd take that you've never seen Avatar: TLA or The Boondocks in your life. Am I correct, anon?
It's okay, but he needed to fix that eye on the right.
It looks awkward because it reveals the differences in how the two artists do things. Butch is a moron but this "controversy" was so fricking dumb
He redrew someone's art. He should be called out for it.
Correction, someone directly commissioned him and he redrew someone else's art to fulfill it. Which is worse than if he just redrew it of his own volition.
How do you get a job in animation without being able to draw.
Looks like she has downies on the right, but people will defend it cause Butch is le based!

your question is so many levels of stupid that it's not even funny
Gonna have to give you the chad YES on this one, there, chief.
I still get a laugh out of the TF2 heavy redesign he did
Looked this up out of curiosity and found this instead
I'm more offended by the Sly Cooper one.
