I generally don't think making lewd cartoon drawings should be illegal, but I don't see why it should be a problem to fire someone when you find out and confirm that they do that.
It would be like if someone at a job was found to have been posing ludicrously racist shit online, the employer has every right to boot them if they have a problem with that person representing them, even if you don't agree with them.

Victor is okay. He does one thing in one style. You know what you’re going to get with him. People are mad at him for doing thunder cats and a aquaman, but they should really be pissed at the execs who put him on those gigs in the first place. You don’t hire Victor and expect him to do something other than super brightly colored chibi style balloon animal people with ADHD humor.
Both thunder cats roar and aquaman were actually fun in their own way. I can understand why people who were fans of the franchise were pissed since they didn’t really seem too honor the legacy, but that’s on the execs who decided to take it in that direction. Victor just did what Victor does.
In other words, don’t hire smash mouth to score a film and expect them to do something epic and orchestral. If you don’t want the end result to sound like a summer jam from the late 90s/early 00’s, then hire someone else. Don’t get pissed at the band because they weren’t the right ones for the job…Blame the person who decided to bring them on in the first place.

Animators don’t typically get to just choose to work on an existing franchise. It doesn’t matter what he did or did not want to do, nothing gets done unless the rights holder signs off on it.
Honestly I'm going off memory so I hope someone here who remembers the old threads got reciepts but he began b***hing on Twitter about it and then deleted tweets. I liked both the original and 2011 incarnations of the Thundercats a lot, and I was just angry it seemed cartoons that are more serious in tone were just a no-go, especially since I was high off Castlevania season 1 (the only season that still fitted the Castlevania timeline before the rest just said frick it, figuratively and literally).
I just walked off after that, I didn't want to be angry anymore.

Animators can develop pitches for stuff based on old IPs depending on what the network owns. Maxwell Atoms talked about it on his blog not too long ago, actually.

Pan pitched a series that he couldn’t even summarize (which was essentially an Pokémon ripoff) and told both Lazzo and Tartakovsky that humans could frick cartoons in his show.
