I like him. But it's not exactly a traditional story.
For the complete story, there was a children's stop motion/animated film with Ralph Feinnes as that's underrated.
It's agreed upon by all historians that Jesus existed.
The supernatural part is what is debated. That being said, the man with the highest IQ in the world is a believer.
Willem Dafoe plays Jesus with raw intensity and humanity. Jim Caviezel plays Jesus like a stoned teenager in a high school play. I get that Last Temptation is more controversial, but I still don't see how so many prefer Caviezel's portrayal. It's not even in the same league.
Because Last Temptation isn't trying to depict the Son of God. It's depicting one of US as if we were struggling to be the Son of God. Someone all too human.
The Last Temptation absolutely depicts the literal Jesus. Did you even watch the film?
Caviezel's performance is less showy to me and more authentic. Dafoe is a great actor but this is a Hollywoodized Jesus.
And the film is more controversial for a reason, Passion is more accurate to the source.
>way less authentic
Jesus cursed a fig tree for not giving him fruit and trashed a synagogue out of religious fury. He's depicted in the Bible as a human, emotional character not as the kind of robotic nigh autistic nice guy that Caviezel plays him as.
>He still asks why God has forsaken him at the end.
The fact that's the only human moment he has in the film is the literal exception that proves the rule.
>The Last Temptation absolutely depicts the literal Jesus.
This is not literal dude. There is absolutely nothing like this in the Gospels. It's an exploration of a very human Jesus struggling with his identity. It was from Nikos Katzanzakis' novel. Not the Bible. Jesus never said "Lucifer" was inside of him. Nor did he doubt who he was.

Jim. Mel Gibson went as far to have the actors speak their native tongue for authenticity
Dafoe is a great actor but the vision of Christ of Scorsese is completely wrong. Paul and Martin were so obsessed with showing the human side of Christ they forgot He is also fully divine and born without sin. The best scene to depict the horrible interpretation of Scorsese Christ is the scene with Jesus telling his disciples He is doing the work of The Lord because of fear. Jesus suffered on the cross because of love, not fear, and while He was afraid of His trial the love He had and has for The Father is the reason He sacrificed His life.
Bruce Marchiano > Robert Powell > H.B. Warner > Jonathan Roumie > Willem Dafoe > Max von Sydow > Jim Caviezel
Although Jonathan Roumie is probably closest to what the real Jesus actually looked like, he's not quite as kino, which is the OP's criteria.
israelite means Christ or Cross denier, genius.
A joke created by immigration officials when israelites came to the US. They were so superstitious about crosses and cross shapes that they didn't put an "X" on their forms. They put circles which they called israelitels (Yiddish for circle). So the officers started making jokes about them and called them israelites. And now that's YOU. You are the israelite. The Christ denier, no different than these rabbis who lost their minds at an X mark.

>For I have come down from heaven not to do my will but to do the will of him who sent me.-John 6:38
Jesus did a Perfect Run. A flawless playthrough. It's not idolizing. He's the only one who's done it. Or will.
Having control over your actions. Everything is cause and effect, you can't change it.
The idea that doing good will put you in heaven and doing bad will put you in hell while at the same time god created us is paradoxical.
People say god "gave us free will" when arguing about heaven or hell but him creating it would mean it isn't actually free will.

You can know him yourself. It's your own fault that you made it so hard.

He wasn't robotic. He still asks why God has forsaken him at the end. Dafoe Jesus is just too human to me.

CAVIEZEL'S INTERPRETATION OF JESUSCHRIST IS THE BEST TO DATE.

The Mexican one. Sns
Caviezel was the best by far

BTW this is for free on Youtube currently.
Free will and god can't both exist at the same time.
All suffering is due to god. Why would you idolize him?

ben hur
i like the minimalist approach in Ben Hur a lot. its like Jaws, but Jesus
>it's alright...
>step on me
I am praying for some romance in my life 😀
Silvester Stallone.
That time he was portrayed by a Northern European
For me, it’s the KJV. Not for accuracy, but because I think it sounds the coolest
Why did they make him look so stupid
