Isn't there a gif of two dudes who look like that guy making out with two Asian chicks. Are Asian women really attracted to white dorks?

White dorks can usually make the best lovers.

Asian women put a lot less stock in muscles and even though they won't admit it directly, they prefer white features in general.

They also tend to like things that their race doesn't have. Men with israelitefros (curly hair), gangly/tall, basically just stuff you don't see in asia, will get them far. Having blue or green eyes also makes them go crazy

That's a matter of taste but at least Elementary's Irene Adler wasn't actually Irene. Sherlock's version was the most moronic thing and I'm pretty sure the mystery of that episode ended up being that a boomerang did it

              Anonymous

I hate to go back and forth because both adaptions are shite, but at least Sherlock looks somewhat like the Doyle stories. The other one:
              >Set in New York
              >Asian woman as Watson
              >Muh rehab
              >Muh aromantic
              >Moriarty is a woman
What's the point of an adaption when it's not an adaption at all? House is a better adaption.

                Anonymous

Agreed that House is a better adaptation but I categorically disagree that Sherlock looks like a Doyle story. There's some bullshit added on (although I can defend every point you brought up) but Elementary is about solving crimes and that's it. Sherlock is just pure wankery and is treats the actual material and the genre its in with contempt.

                >Sherlock looks like a Doyle story.
I said somewhat to be fair, and only in the most superficial way. It's set in England, for one.
                >treats the actual material and the genre its in with contempt.
I agree, but so does any adaption which purposely does frickery with character swapping for whatever reason. Part of Watson's character was that he was a war veteran, which Sherlock at least retains (can't believe I'm fricking defending this rubbish).
I don't mind looking at Lucy Liu's hot ass, but why wasn't she cast as Adler? Why rewrite the entire character of Watson and call him (her) Watson. If someone wants to stray so far away then why not write a Holmes inspired series.

                >missing the forest for the trees
Don't get lost in the details. Zoom out. What was Doyle trying to convey? Your definition of a sufficient adaption seems to be a strict word by word television production of the books. When I was a kid I hated live music performances because they weren't identical to the studio tracks, but as I grew older I appreciated the different take.

If you're saying Elementary is better than Sherlock, I'll concede the point cuz I don't give much of a frick since they both suck donkey balls. If you're saying Elementary is good, or a good adaption of the stories, you're wrong.

                >It's set in England
That true but only superficially. The original was set in London when it was the cultural and economic capital of the world, it was the New York of its day. Changing it to be set in New York is a logical change to make for a modern retelling
                >Characters with contempt
That's kind of my point, there's these superficial transplants like Watson being a veteran but his role as the audience insert that Holmes bounces ideas off is removed because the Sherlock writers don't want to do a detective story so his actual role is to be the straight man to Sherlocks quirky hijinks.

For a better example of what I mean, look at House. Wilson isn't a veteran (unless you count his failed marriage) and aside from the name and being a doctor he has nothing in common with Watson but since he fulfils the same narrative role we can tell who he is. Lucy Liu is more of a Watson despite being an Asian woman for the same reason

Pic rel is the creator of the show. See the resemblance? I personally don't understand how people get off to vicarious fricking but w/e.

Since the actor is rich and famous, there are plenty of women who want to frick him. As for the character, women (audience) are attracted to him because women characters on the show are. If the dude worked at Subway no one would remark that he's cute. He looks like the son of Willy Wonka and Rodney Dangerfield.

I've heard about the show but the pervasive degeneracy, from what I've read, turned me off, both the UK and US versions. Plus nakedness sometimes eliminates the hotness of mystery, especially considering I'll never meet her in real life. I forget if she was naked in HoHH.

          All Showtime shows have nudity.

I can tell you it was one of the most unbelievable shows I had seen. Whoever wrote the scripts has never been outside or interacted with people. More fantastical than a Marvel film.
