It's really not, it's a perfectly servicable and totally typical movie with all the typical meme jokes, but it's not even actually a Rescue Rangers movie and it's not a Chin 'n Dale movie, either.

It's a much worse shitty version of Roger Rabbit.

It really is "okay" as something on its own completely. Entertaining enough for its short runtime and completely forgettable as soon as its done

It's just a 'lol references' movie. It also tries to raise a point about piracy and bootlegs while actually having nothing to say on the subject, and it completely misses the point of having its villain being a product of the abuse and discarding entertainment does on its stars by having the leads willingly going back to said system right after because God forbid Hollywood have actual self criticism.
You may say now that I'm only overanalyzing a dumb movie and you'd be right, but the movie is annoying in how instead of being 100% dumb a la Space Jam tries these little attempts at any depth and message but botches them so badly.

I think you're going into the film expecting broad social commentary when that's not the aim of the filmmakers. It's a personal story between Chip and Dale that touches on the themes you mentioned, but uses them mainly as flavor.

Dale. Despite the insecurity on both sides, Dale ultimately never truly apologized. Not only this, he tried to act like nothing changed and he didn't split the group up then played the victim when Chip wasn't playing ball with his kumbaya act. Dale didn't fully get what he did and internalize it and the movie played it off as a 'shrug' shit happens and its ultimately CHIP who has to be the one to apologize. Its honestly infuriating the more I think about.

Ever since the day they met, Chip kept Dale under his thumb, constantly talking him down in front of others and refusing to treat him like a friend and partner.

Have you ever been the sidekick? The "little buddy"? Spoiler: it fricking sucks. If someone doesn't respect you in a relationship, then you need to get out of it. I don't blame Dale for wanting to go his own way if Chip can't let himself be emotionally vulnerable to someone he CLAIMS is his best friend.

I get that and that's address. But then he has the audacity to come back and act like nothing happened when Chip moved on with his life. Dale forced his way back in and in the end came out looking like and victim when he was out. He was gone. He went solo and got what he wanted. "Oh but, all he wanted was for him to say he needs him" THEN SAY THAT. Stop stringing shit along. Its toxic as frick.
