The mobsters that were not bosses all lived in shitty little houses and drove busted old whips, if they didnt wear shiny israeliteelery, you would mistake them for a mcdonalds manager.
That's because they were usually degenerate gamblers or would spend their money on stupid shit. Ralphie was a good earner and he lived very decently because he wasn't stupid, he was a homosexual thoughever
I said this in another thread, characters like Ralph and Tony B are probably the most evil in the Sopranos universe simply because they have the means to have successful, non crime lifestyles easily by virtue of being far more intelligent than the average crew Mook. They choose to commit evil when they easily did not have to (someone like Chris is too moronic, in my estimation, to have truly lived a clean life).
>That's because they were usually degenerate gamblers
They were literally forced to gamble coz they ran gambling dens you dense mofo. anyone in that scenario would become hyper obsessed with gambling
Excuse me, I run a slaphouse out of my neighbor's basement and all I do is watch security cameras from my house and call a Mr. Badass who poses as an Amazon delivery driver so he can drive around the block in circles just in case he has to go down there and break up a fight. "Cashiers" are all chicks that'll work for free drugs, and then I send an old guy that used to be a cop to go over and pretend he's visiting the old lady that lives there but what he's really doing is dropping money and picking up money who he then brings to me.
Walter made like $80 million. You could also steal from him and just move away, he was a weak teacher. Tony and his crew make scraps, they had very few big grabs and it was dumb luck. They literally peddle stolen dvd players and the likes. You're basically doing organized crime for minimum wage.
Yeah that's probably what was the most unrealistic part of the show. Jesse and Walter never really had a good relationship anyway, and it's clear that him and Jane considered $500 grand to be enough to do whatever they wanted with their lives....which obviously was junkie talk since half a million isn't even that much money.
What I myself would've done was make it so I was the one storing the money by making Walt think that he was "changing" me and that I was becoming more and more loyal and trustworthy, and then as soon as I get ahold of about $3 million I kill him in the lab and blow it up just like they ended up doing anyway and while I'm at it I'll pay Badger and Skinny Pete to kill Gus AND mike when they least expect it, like while Gus is walking to his car at Los Pollos pretending to be a normal businessman, and then Mike while he's at the park with his granddaughter. Then when they come to collect their money I'll kill them too and make it seem like an overdose or some shit....maybe even make it seem like they killed each other. After all that I could basically do whatever I wanted since no one knows who Jesse is anyways, and if they do then just take off to some remote area, like he ended up doing anyway. Mind you, he basically DID do all of those things, only he went about it the most difficult possible way imaginable.
Well you get them all methed out and hyped up. Or now that I think about it maybe through Saul I could work something out with the DEA where I just get them all locked up and I get to take the money and go into witness protection. OR frick it, not even kill anyone and just take the money and leave. I'm now realizing why drug dealers have such short lifespans.
>half a million isn't even that much money
Is half a mil really not enough to retire as a NEET in the US? Obviously Jesse and Jane were morons with money, but the last time I was in US everything was cheaper than in my shithole country and people's minimum wage here is like 12k a year. Provided you already own a house, which Jesse did, what will eat through 500k? >muh New York
Yeah but like, Bumfrick Nowhere, New Mexico is surely on the level of some European countries no?
Jesse's house was in a nice neighborhood, the property taxes would take a good chunk of that cash over time if he stayed there. Add to that food prices, general living expenses, entertainment (Jesse and his buddies bought lots of videogames), and above all the fact that he was a fricking junkie and all that money would be gone in a hurry.
Is it possible for someone in their early twenties to live off $500,000 for the rest of their life in the US? Yes, but it would require a much more ascetic lifestyle than Jesse's to make it work.
>Is half a mil really not enough to retire as a NEET in the US
Not even close, you need a few million if there are two people >Jesse's house was in a nice neighborhood
His parents asked 800k for it and he paid 400k when he blackmailed them kek
Using the average Albuquerque property tax of 1.18% and a home value of 800,000 then Jesse's annual property tax would be $9440. If the only thing he paid for was just that tax he'd be out of money in about 52 years, and that's not taking inflation into account. There's no amount of frugal living which would make that sustainable.
Man I swear this place is full of poorgays. $500,000 is SHIT. I know people that make close to that a year with a bachelor's degree. I've got a friend who works for the Dept of Sanitation in L.A. and he makes like $300k+ and he doesn't even have a high school diploma. My girlfriend makes $177k with ONLY a high school diploma working from home doing some shit with IT I can only begin to understand. And I.....well do "stuff" that yields me about 30k a month and I never even stepped foot in a high school; I literally only know what high school is through movies/TV and stories people tell me. Get with it guys. There's tons of ways to make monies out there and you'd be surprised at how willing people are to hand it over if you have something to trade with them.
Quick example: there's a lady I know that spends most of her life gambling but always around this time of year she goes missing for about a couple of months and then comes back in late June. I asked her just the other day why she just vanishes like that around this time and she told me that she goes to high school/college graduations and sells cheap flower leis that she buys in bulk online, along with little teddy bears that she puts graduation hats on and then sells them for as much as she can. I didn't ask how much she makes but the b***h MUST make a lot because she spends 12+ hours a day, every day just tapping away at the machines and I've never seen her ask for a comp or anything. So there we go...

Hey Black person let me explain how you are poor. Do you have health insurance? What happens if you were to get sick and not be able to sell drugs? How are you going to retire? Any annuity? You have a house so that’s good, is it paid off? If you or your gf got sick or god forbid passed away how would you cover your payments? What’s your credit? Can you get a loan? Can you even get approved for rent?

If you're not larping then congratulations, you are earning in the top 2% bracket of all US workers. Those people you know making $500,000 are the top 1%. Most people in America do not make that much money, and $500,000 is a massive amount of money to much of the country.
>Is half a mil really not enough to retire as a NEET in the US?
it is if you aren't stupid. You aren't going to be living in luxury, but half a mil is more than enough to just sit on your ass for the rest of your life.
>I kill him in the lab and blow it up
you kill walter and hank shrader would hunt you down. >kill mike
you couldn't kill mike once you killed walt - mike only got taken out coz he let his guard down around walt and was surprised by how ruthless he actually was
>working for tony >having fun, making bank, banging hookers >make ascii art of tony and post it on Cinemaphile >becomes hyper popular on this gaygoli website called justin.tv >fbi start looking into tony's business coz captains are money laundering money via online donations >i get whacked
Tony probably won't kill you unless you're a degen, though him being a shit leader would probably get you killed regardless (see Bobby), Waltuh would kill you because he got up on the wrong side of the bed (see Mike).
Between a rock and a hard place.
Both tony and Walt will turn on you at the first thought of betrayal, real or not. They were both egotistical and paranoid and if you showed any hints of outshining them they would violently put you in your place like any crime lord would.
Literally all you’d have to do to survive Walt’s moronation is to just quit while you’re ahead. Especially in BCS, you can see Jimmy’s moronic ass making the same mistake constantly.
I feel like 1 or 2 cooks with Walt would have you set for life and then you can just frick off for good.
He’d have some mental breakdown track you down kid nap you and force you to cook after some minor inconvenience happened and then have some deep convo while your handcuffed cooking meth while he points a gun at you
I was thinking this too but then I remembered that Saul and all his goons got out alive. Most of them didn't even go to jail.

Did you Black folk even watch Breaking Bad? Walt didn't do any of this shit, the only one he stupidly killed for no reason was Mike. Even Jesse he refuses to kill every step of the way (even is insulted at the idea when Saul suggests killing Jesse) until right at the very end when he realises Jesse isn't going to stop until Walt is finished.
Walter would flip out and be standing over you having a monologue about how he is the man that kills for no reason and then ask you if you’ve seen the show
Jesse did so much that Walter let him get away with. Tony killed Chris because he got high a little too much. That days all you need to know about who you could trust
Walter made a lot of money and Tony was a shit leader. Both of them had their pros and cons but the biggest pro about working with Walt is he allows you to make your money and frick off, an option that was offered and used, whereas with Tony and the mob you're never allowed to leave the life
It seems like Tony operations ran more smoothly and had less threats from other groups or law enforcement, and he was more forgiving if you were a hard worker and loyal so him
What, that is nothing like Walt, I don't think you watched BrBa lmao
You make him sound like Joe Pesci in Goodfellas, he's literally a normie high school teacher with some ego issues
You don’t notice because he’s your le heckin based sigma TikTok hero he becomes unhinged in later seasons and takes it out on all the low life’s around him and then will maybe have a moment where he regrets it and looks at the pool or something. I watched the finale on tv when it came out zoomy
God good, the fricking pendulum swung back so hard on Walter White. You fricking “le he’s an irredeemable monster!1!1!” plebbitors are just as bad as the “he’s literally me, bro!1!1” neckbeards from 10 years ago.
i feel like tony would kill me over any mild slight against him on a personal level whereas walt would only kill me if i threatened to kill him or his kids
I like Tony more as a person, but he is too passionate.
With Walter you could come up with a 'deal', a 'job' you both execute it, you both get paid and you move on with your lives. You both end 'happy'. So i'd have to choose Walt.
I think I’d have much more of a chance of being able to frick off with my money if I were to work with Walt. Especially if it’s in the earlier seasons, it’d be easy to manipulate him as long as you know how to play his ego.
Also working with Tony would seem like hell with his constant shit talking, and him going into a murderous rage if you dish some bantz back at him.
Walt, cause he's not a frickin WOP
but also because I wouldn't have to go through some archaic homosexualy honor system those greasy guidos have
also I can't stand the racketeering crap, I tried to play the thieves guild questline in Skyrim and had to reload a save because I couldn't stand destroying that guy's business for no reason in the first mission. Wanted to kill everybody in that sewer after that.
Walt despite basically having BPD seems to have a much more reasonable fundamental code than the Omerta bullshit
Both would kill me cause I did something innocuous which reminded them of an individual from their respective paths who slighted them in some way and never got revenge
>if you work with Tony you'll spend most of your time sitting around laughing and joking with your buddies >if you work with Walt you'll spend most of your time cleaning a giant tank and he'll very likely treat you like shit and ask you to get involved in his crazy schemes
Tony, easy.
Walt, no question. Go to work in the underground lab, put in my hours, keep my head down. As long as I don't attempt to avenge a kid by gunning down a couple of street dealers, both of whom are technically my coworkers, we should be fine. Just cook and earn, cook and earn. Listen to podcasts, play card games, watch a football game, whatever. As long as Gus is pleased with our work, no one will frick with us.
I’m not competing for Walt’s job, so it shouldn’t happen to me. I’d be more afraid of Gus, he cut Victor’s throat for what, starting to cook a batch without permission?
Tony. Tony knows how to do business, and is already a powerful man. Walter is an amateur and he's letting the success get to his head and his ego gets in the way. Tony knows better than to mess with a good thing.
if you dont step out of line and act your part Tony is probably a good boss.
Everyone who fricked up under Tony had it coming to get whacked or humiliated somehow.
Heisenchud will literally just fire or kill you for no logistical reason, you just pissed him off somehow or acted better than Jesse, beside that as a business acossiate he acts spergish and is a high risk low reward player
>Heisenchud will literally just fire or kill you for no logistical reason
Walt saved Jesse several times. Slaughtered his captors with a hidden, remote controlled machine gun firing through the wall from the trunk of his car. Basically sacrificed himself in the process too. It’s pretty fantastic how far he’d go to save Jesse.
>Everyone who fricked up under Tony had it coming to get whacked or humiliated somehow.
Killing Patsy's brother was probably an overreaction, should have just given him a beating but Tony had a complex about his mother. It's also probably what got Tony killed in the end.
Not related to the OP but
When vito got seen being a finook by meadow's bf and invited him to a baseball game, was it because vito wanted to wack him, or because he wanted to wack him?
Also did anyone else watch season 3 of west world and expect Delores to be all "Jessie, have have to do crime" or just me?
Tony no cap
Probably tony is some white collar 21st century scam. Kicking up 1000 a week could be a lot, or a little
The mobsters that were not bosses all lived in shitty little houses and drove busted old whips, if they didnt wear shiny israeliteelery, you would mistake them for a mcdonalds manager.

The last thing I do is gamble, or sleep.
>Amazon delivery driver
sorry you broke my immersion, delivery drivers didn't exist back then zoomer
Sil was with Tony from the start and he looks like he's doing well
>Consigliere is doing well compared to the bottom feeders
No shit Sherlock
So was Paulie and he was always broke, stealing from little old ladies and shit
That's because he put his mom in a top notch retirement hom...community
Paulie wasn't broke, he was just a giant cheapskate
Usually that's the case because unlike bosses or high level guys they can't legally verify income.
with mr. Heisenberg of course
all I have to do is wait till hi dies of butt cancer and I would be able to take his share too
Walter made like $80 million. You could also steal from him and just move away, he was a weak teacher. Tony and his crew make scraps, they had very few big grabs and it was dumb luck. They literally peddle stolen dvd players and the likes. You're basically doing organized crime for minimum wage.
wouldn't a nice dvd player back then cost several hundred dollars, akin to consoles/laptops these days?

Badger and Skinny Pete felt uncomfortable pointing laser pens at people, they would never be up for killing anyone much less hardened druglords.
Well you get them all methed out and hyped up. Or now that I think about it maybe through Saul I could work something out with the DEA where I just get them all locked up and I get to take the money and go into witness protection. drugs
I was thinking about low spenders like Mike (if he didn't have his stupid family) or Todd, not morons like Jesse and Jane.

Maybe but they wanted to go to New Zealand aka the monaco of oceania
>Is half a mil really not enough to retire as a NEET in the US

This anon ahh really doing math
>only on Cinemaphile
Jesse didn’t even own the place at first, he only had the right to live there. He used his 500k to buy it.
Man I swear this place is full of poorgays. $500,000 is SHIT. I know people that make close to that a year with a bachelor's degree. simple, you just go with tony and keep your mouth shut
with walt you'll never be sure when he'll go on an incel rage and shoot you point blank
This. Just be a top earner for Tony and you'll be fine.
HE KILLED A HOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAARSE
>working for tony

Only complete sociopaths work in protection rackets. You can make or sell drugs while still being a normal (though immoral) person.
Tony kills multiple people on suspicion they’re rats with no proof. For that reason alone you can’t work with him
>Tony kills multiple people on suspicion they’re rats with no proof
I can only think of jimmy, who else?
I'd trust Tony more than Waltuh to not just kill me for some bullshit.
Basically everyone fricking dies In breaking bad.
I was thinking this too but then I remembered that Saul and all his goons got out alive. Most of them didn't even go to jail.
Literally all you’d have to do to survive Walt’s moronation is to just quit while you’re ahead. Especially in BCS, you can see Jimmy’s moronic ass making the same mistake constantly.

Even Jesse he refuses to kill every step of the way (even is insulted at the idea when Saul suggests killing Jesse) until right at the very end when he realises Jesse isn't going to stop until Walt is finished.
Walter would flip out and be standing over you having a monologue about how he is the man that kills for no reason and then ask you if you’ve seen the show
Who else did he kill for no reason? And even Mike was because he was refusing to give the names which would ultimately bring down Walt.
He’d poison someone close to you if he thought it promotes his interests. That being said, he’s a powerful ally, but a double edged one
Jesse did so much that Walter let him get away with. Tony killed Chris because he got high a little too much. That days all you need to know about who you could trust
Walter made a lot of money and Tony was a shit leader. Both of them had their pros and cons but the biggest pro about working with Walt is he allows you to make your money and frick off, an option that was offered and used, whereas with Tony and the mob you're never allowed to leave the life
It seems like Tony operations ran more smoothly and had less threats from other groups or law enforcement, and he was more forgiving if you were a hard worker and loyal so him
Yeah Walter would pin your hand to a table with a knife and then shoot you in the face because he had an argument with his wife
I’m not a TikTok Zoomer I watched the show when it came out I think this joker/Bateman/Walter white trend is cringe and gay af
Walt but I'd try to get out after one or two jobs
i feel like tony would kill me over any mild slight against him on a personal level whereas walt would only kill me if i threatened to kill him or his kids
Tony. Walter is mentally ill
Really? Which one is seeing a shrink?
Walt despite basically having BPD seems to have a much more reasonable fundamental code than the Omerta bullshit
quick question: would i join from the start or when they already in businnes?
with Tony things might go wrong
with Walt you'll be blindsided when things go colossally wrong because hes an overly ambitious frickhead
Both would kill me cause I did something innocuous which reminded them of an individual from their respective paths who slighted them in some way and never got revenge
Tony obviously. Soft drinks of choice, prime Bing cooz, yucking it up with the lads. I could live that life, until I'm inevitably whacked, OOF MADONE
>if you work with Tony you'll spend most of your time sitting around laughing and joking with your buddies
>if you work with Walt you'll spend most of your time cleaning a giant tank and he'll very likely treat you like shit and ask you to get involved in his crazy schemes
Tony, easy.
Walt, no question. Go to work in the underground lab, put in my hours, keep my head down. Listen to podcasts, play card games, watch a football game, whatever. As long as Gus is pleased with our work, no one will frick with us.
How’d that work out for Gale?
Gale only got killed because the cartel wanted Walt’s head for betraying Tuco. Walt had to make himself indispensable to Gus by eliminating Gale.
Yes and that’s the kinda shit that happens when you deal with Walt
I’m not competing for Walt’s job, so it shouldn’t happen to me. I’d be more afraid of Gus, he cut Victor’s throat for what, starting to cook a batch without permission?
Tony. Tony knows how to do business, and is already a powerful man. Walter is an amateur and he's letting the success get to his head and his ego gets in the way. Tony knows better than to mess with a good thing.
heiseinberg, he's jsut like em
>whole storyline about tony being a scorpion
>people still want to work with him
Making money with Walt is pretty easy? Clean his lab, operate fork lift, kill the flies, and you make millions
Walt and Jesse had a sweet gig for a while
Tony.
Walt fricked over every single person he was involved with.
probably walter, tony and the crew would just make fun of me for being a little b***h 🙁
if you dont step out of line and act your part Tony is probably a good boss.
It’s pretty fantastic how far he’d go to save Jesse.
yes, to "save Jesse". But you ain't Jesse in this scenario I would assume
I’m sure Walt would love me even more
>Everyone who fricked up under Tony had it coming to get whacked or humiliated somehow.
Killing Patsy's brother was probably an overreaction, should have just given him a beating but Tony had a complex about his mother. It's also probably what got Tony killed in the end.
It ended with Tony having dinner with his family
Yeah, which followed by him being shot in the fricking face as they reacted with shock and horror.
Tony personally killed most of his cappos, Walt iced (or had iced I don't remember) that new assistant guy who was a great match for Jessie.
Walt pre-S5, before the writers turned him into a moron
It seems I'd make more with Walt, so Im going with him. No disrespect to Ton but come on, forget about it
