Reddit
literally nothing wrong with reddit
then go there
I realized most people on Cinemaphile don't actually watch the shows that are playing in front of their eyes when multiple people in other threads didn't realize that Nathan confessed to the actor, not the real guy.
Wait, really? I thought the ending was just edited really weirdly, but you're saying that the ending segment had the real and fake Kor? I couldn't even tell given how they look nearly identical.
Yes, it was one of Nathan Fielder's subtle tricks!
if you can't tell these two people apart you're either racist or there's something genuinely wrong with you
If the cops can't tell them apart how do you expect me to?
jokes on you. i'm both a racist and there's many things genuinely wrong with me
someone photoshop george floyds face on one of these people and pretend its the original pic in the next thread
I'm very racist and was able to tell immediately
Why was he so vicious to Nathan?
because that was a rehearsal take where he got the actor to do the worst case scenario. What we see is Nathan pussying out of the confession even tho he himself rehearsed it. He is unable to help himself how he helps others its extremely tragic
oh shid
guess Im a racist because I can barely tell them apart
I haven’t seen this show so I don’t know what you’re talking about. But I am racist.
How did he know he would wear the jean jacket? MAJOR PLOTHOLE
put down your phone when you're watching the show
bro thats impossible
>nearly identical.
>either racist or there's something genuinely wrong with you
always with the extremism in this fricking website, yeah they kind of look similar and the lightning aint that good, i had to go back when they switched cuz i wasn't sure but i felt that was the twist, and yeah, it is.
I didn't catch it at first either, it was intentionally edited to be very subtle, get off your high horse
Put your phone down next time.
I guarantee this is most people's problem. zoomers cannot just watch something with full attention
I'm just a racist. All blacks look the same to me.
How do people not get this?
It was clearly edited with Nathan starting the conversation, then cut to the "rehearsal confession" and then cut back to Nathan deciding not to tell Kor about the cheating.
what do you mean the actor?
I interpreted that as real Kor taking the confession badly, but out of respect for him they didn't show real Kor blowing up, they just showed a representation of him blowing up instead. When it cuts back to real Kor and Nathan, it's after real Kor blew up.
I really doubt that, considering Nathan's humor. The actor blew up in an over-the-top way, calling Nathan an awful, awful person and whatnot. The joke was that Nathan was too timid to confess after the rehearsal went "poorly."
I cant believe that guy signed up to be on tv with tattooed ok hair.
can't wait 2 watch the latest episode of israelite epically owing the goyim, hell yesss!!!
It's not funny
frick. just reading that makes me want to stop watching
i posted this exact post like three hours ago weirdo
Explain what is unethical about it.
It's basically punching down the entire time. He's exploiting and making fun of the poor and people that aren't mentally all there, the kinds of people who respond to a Craigslist ad.
Having said that I thought the end was quite sweet, but it doesn't change everything leading up to it.
bad bait
Refute any point
You felt the need to create two new lines after just one sentence and consider "punching down" a valid criticism. You don't merit a serious response.
Non-arguments.
>It's basically punching down the entire time.
made me laugh
The show makes Nathan look like more of a weirdo than anyone else. Of course the people he picks are awkward, but the oddest thing that the guy did was care more about trivia than anything else. Seemed by the end the rehearsals actually helped him, which he wanted.
>It's basically punching down the entire time. He's exploiting and making fun of the poor and people that aren't mentally all there, the kinds of people who respond to a Craigslist ad.
that's what makes it based
"Punching down" presumes that kor or Trish were in some way inferior or lower than the creators of the show. Now, in the way in which this inferiority manifests depends a lot on what kind of frame of reference you as a viewer/critic are bringing. Some people might be racist for example and think kor is inferior because he is black. But I think most people like to think of it in terms of some mix of class, race, neurotypology, and the big one, the power differential between kor and Nathan. But I think if you try to look at kor and Nathan as just two different people, and then examine the show with empathy for kors anxieties, I think it's much harder to see punching down here. In fact, I think Nathan reveals himself to be a failure at precisely the task in which kor was a success.
There is nothing wrong with laughing at people for any reason. There is nothing wrong with insulting people for any reason. The concept of punching up/down was a psyop to make all comedy inherently class based, instead of culture based.
Hes pretty much running a giant psychological experiment on people, amd frankly himself too. I do think he is gonna cross a line one day and give someone PTSD or something, maybe even give himself PTSD. The guy seems committed to doing the most meta thing possible.
>pretending this shit isn’t the most reddit comedy on TV because one redditor was mad
kek
>Getting tricked by a tv show
Lol, bet this homie thinks Game of Thrones actually happened
With how awkward zoomers are in social situations or even over the phone I think rehearsals could genuinely be a useful service.
i cant believe kor got angry at nathan after everything he did, its just fricking trivia
He didn't. Nathan had rehearsed what it'd be like if he confessed to Kor and didn't like the outcome so he kept quiet at the end instead of telling Kor.
*opens the door to your mum's room*
>Whoa, it's prostitute city over here.
Kor related calmly to the reveal that Nathan sent a fake team to map his house and then made a replica of it
That part I don't understand, I would never allow some strangers in my house without vetting them
they said it was a gas leak and most people would be concerned about that, especially in a shitty apartment in New York.
My guess is they set him up in an apartment for the duration of the shoot.
Like I'd honestly be impressed with it. The bar was really fricking well done.
All of his fricking jokes didn't land because Kor is a black neet weeb autist who doesn't get humor
all of his jokes landed except one. Kor might just not like poop humor
he took it as Nathan critiquing the lack of plungers
>film grain
pure kino
kor seemed like a nice bloke but it's probably racist of me to think that
Anti-racist PoC ally here. He's one of the few good Black folk.
I agree, any guy who is this worried about upsetting his friends is a good guy. It's weird because I was so used to Nathan just fricking people over but here it really seemed like he helped Kor out.
Kor was on Cash Cab years ago:
Some people are trying to say that these two were in his trivia group on The Rehearsal , but they barely look like them
does this just mean he takes every opportunity to do trivia on TV or what
LMAO @ Kor high-fiving the woman but leaving the guy hanging.
Kek what the hell
Is that woman in red supposed to be trish the dish? Frick she was hot at one point.. looks like a different person too..
Trish is in white at the back
HOW DEEP DOES IT GO
They look just like them holy shit
>reality shows have the same pool of actors pretending to be regular people
Holy crap lois!
>trivia nuts apply to be on tv quiz shows
take your meds
What is surprising about Kor going to lunch with his friends? Why is that shocking?
>Kor Skeet is the black friend in an all white friend group
lol
face blindness strikes again
I didn’t think the other two looked like his friends at all but it’s obviously Kor
>[YouTube] CASH CAB
Wow so he's an actor wtf
Contestants on that show are real but a lot are screened in advance. Trivia nerds wanted to be in a trivia show, big shock.
man i use to love the australian version of that show hosted by that guy who is likely very washed up as of today
>guy confessing to a small white lie is more suspenseful than most thriller movies
Real life entertainment hits different, it had me on the edge of my seat. I really thought he was going to give up
The morons saying the show "punches down" demonstrate their own biases by trying to paint the slightly awkward Americans as mentally ill
It's the time of perception you can attain by literally never going outside
This Kor guy is super autistic but credit where credit is due that "Trish the dish" opener was charming as frick.
it was wasted on her. kor had a very pleasant voice and manner of speaking (especially for a person of color), but she was very unappealing in the way she just endlessly rattled everything off and didn't even change tone or cadence upon hearing kor's confession. the sentiment was nice, but her words just sounded meaningless
You guys realize that Kor was gay right? Nathan being oblivious and making him prepare for the situation where Trish thought it was a date was part of the joke.
He was married for 5 years
to a man
Imagine having trivia as your main source of satisfaction. How a quaint life it must be. And yet I'm here looking for brief moments of contentment amongst you caviling residents. If only I knew what the tallest building in the world is, so from its heights I could finally plunge into sweet nothingness
Yeah he should be manipulating people for yuck yucks with HBO money instead
what i don't understand about the show was that by the time it came for the 'real' confession, he had already told the lady twenty times so why was he nervous about telling her something she already knew
What are you on about? Do you have brain damage?
Because it’s mocking morons while hiding behind detached irony. All these new age alt comedy shows do this.
Nice surface level observation, you absolute midwit. The appeal of Nathan's shows isn't mocking morons, it's being able to connect and empathize with various bizarre and offbeat characters--characters who are still interesting and endearing despite their oddness. You're supposed to laugh at the absurdity of the schemes and the awkwardness of the interactions, not the people. If you watched Finding Frances, for example, and all you took from it was "mocking morons while hiding behind detached irony," there's no fricking hope for you.
For you
I'm paranoid that everyone in this is an actor as is usually case with reality tv, whats says this is different?
This will be the finale reveal that the whole season was just a rehearsal.
the thing that tickled me the most was the pizza oven
i lauged at it the first time thinking it was clever to swap out for delivery pizza
but the second time watching it before i fully appreciated that the guy was prepping the pizza and then handing it off to be throwwn away in the trash.
just the wastefulness of it is clearly insignificant in the scheme of the show but the obviousness of it, just the sound of the pizza hitting the trash i couldn't hold it and burst out with a wheeze.
they ADR the Trish the dish line when he greets her for real, he chickened out
I made a post about how the scene (the actor's line) was probably shot after Kor finally did the confession, making it one of the few really "fake" moments from the show and some morons thought I meant he was speaking to Kor.
Referring to the fake out with Nathan telling "Kor" he gave him all the answers. I forgot to respond to
what show?
I want to understand the jokes
nathan, not for you
Rehearsal
were they just incapable of finding the same chair?
Why does he look so much grayer? Did a lot of time pass or was it just the lighting?
Bros how can you watch cringe comedy without cringing? I don't like second hand embarrassment
You’re supposed to cringe and be embarrassed by it
It's not a funny feeling though
how old are you? none of it is "cringe"
the brain cancer scheme was the only time i cringed
I put it on 3x speed when it's too much
I don't like shows that take advantage of the good nature of people.
I was literally cringing and covering my eyes at just the first episode of the first season.
Also cover your mouth and nose
>episode 2
>Nathan allows an Oregon woman to prepare for motherhood by simulating the experience of raising a child from zero to eighteen.
It's going to be awesome.
I hope the actor acts like Martin Short in Clifford
I think everyone’s been in a situation like this. Such a sink or swim kinda feeling.
iktf
Watching this show is way harder than watching Nathan was
or maybe I've grown soft
Nah, nothing came even close to this moment
rewatched finding frances and I didn't remember that nathan put on a rehearsal for when Bill would meet Frances
Oh yeah I forgot about that lmao. I remember him complimenting her teeth though, that was funny
My autistic ass is sitting here thinking that Nathan making that conversation flowchart is the most brilliant idea I've ever seen
do you think there's any resources on writing these types of things?
I would love to make one of these and approach people in bars/clubs and see if I can pull of being a normie
Writing flowcharts or writing ones specifically to figure out a situation? Pretty sure Visio is free now if you want software to make flowcharts
Just do what this guy did
>haha, I'd tentacle rape you if I was an Octopus
Gave me an idea for a tinder bio, testing it out now
>Do you want to play squid game? I’ll be the squid and you be the anime girl
>i would like to pump you
This show is fully fake right? The whole bit with Nathan figuring out the answers to the questions and then "subtly" imprinting them on Kor has to be fake. He'd also have to be a real moron if he couldn't figure out on his own that Nathan was giving him the answers.
If you watch him on cash cab vs how he acts in the episode you can tell he figured it out after the second question. He’s laughing and super confident in the Rehearsal but on cash cab it’s clear he has no idea what the answers are to any questions.
I just watched this episode, and it wasn't nearly as cringe as Nathan For You, it was actually pretty funny. NFY is a little too cringe for me. I'm gonna watch the rest of this season for sure.
I always tried to get my brother into Nathan For You but he said the same thing. I was going to suggest this but I wasn’t sure if someone would find it as good without seeing NFY
I think in this Nathan seems like he's more genuinely trying to help, while in NFY (the few episodes I've watched) he always tries to help people by having them do something dumb and embarrassing.
It’s actually shocking the amount of people that are confused by the ending and think Kor is the one they freaked out on Nathan
