If they did browse Cinemaphile then they'd be familiar enough with the board culture to know that this place hates lesbians and the Harley x Ivy pairing, so it wouldn't make sense for them to post this here for "validation".

short answer is just captalism.
Longer answer would be the corporate structure of how shows are made, where the people who make the characters you like slowly drift to other projects and those chacters are handed to people who barely care, are ignorant or like commpletely different things about teh character than you. Or worse, they love something entirely different and try to shoe horn that into the property because thats what they really wish they were making. You know, how She Ra became a poorman's Princess Utena because that is really what the show runners wanted to work on.
You can always tell because even though the characters are hot women, there is just something about them that isnt appealing. Like the noses.
Now, I am not saying that all those women should have tinkerbell princess noses. I mightself love a turkish girl with a giant hook nose and pretty eyes. But there is just something off putting about the way fat nerdy women drawl "real" noses on women.
I think its a mixture of how women want representation for things but at the same time also hate the things that are not being represented by others. So they won't draw a cute big nose or sexy fat ass or nice thick hips on a girl because they hate their own nose, ass, and hips. So they draw some weird "other" version of it that exists and yet is not realistic or appealing.
Fans of the show. And considering it got a special issue and a second mini-series, it clearly did well enough. Compare that to the Young Justice and Justice League Unlimited comics around the same time that got dropped as soon as they were finished.
