Apparently good looking actors are often bad because they tend to rely on their looks, it's not a challenging career path if all you do is play male leads in romcoms, also at the start of their carreer they tend to rely on modeling for income which means they're more likely to get stuck in a long term contract.
Thus casting directors often pass good looking actors when the male lead as a purpose beyond being eye candy.
The real gamechanger is how expressive your face is, and it has nothing to do with looks.
