Why do people get so hung up on the climate activism aspect of this movie. Is it a political thing. It could have been literally any other type of activism or issue he gets obsessed with, the point was his desire to martyr himself for some kind of tangible purpose.

Catholics and orthodox(es?) make kino, but what's wrong with protestants?

The took the beauty and sovl out of the church and faith. Just look at a protestant church and compare it to a catholic/orthodox church. The latter show the grandness of their faith through optics.

Protestantism is fundamentally founded on the idea of making Christianity as ugly and non-aesthetic as possible.

Modern movies rely on straw manning the other side and it gives the films a sour taste.

Your picture says it all. Christcucks nowadays are too busy playing victim to all the mean atheists who picked on them during the Daily Show's peak. To make kino in the name of God, you have to have resolve and faith and the desire to celebrate the almighty, not the desire to proselytize. Zach Snyder does a better job with religious iconography than any of the modern Christcuck movies.

No I don't and I don't believe that more than half of all christians depicted in media are depicted as villains/creeps either

Then you're just retarded and have to fall back on grand sweeping statements to back up your point
                >Christians are typically depicted as villains, especially compared to other religions.
                >No they're not! If you were to count up every christian character ever the number of villains wouldn't reach 50%!
Get back to me when you've actually got some data for that dumbass statement.

Most people are familiar with Christianity since it's pretty hard to avoid, so it's easiest for writers to stick with. Also, a lot of Christians, especially Catholics, don't even read the Bible, so it's pretty easy to make fun of them.
If any other religion was dominant in the US, it'd probably get ridiculed too.

There's definitely been a change in how Christians are overall depicted and viewed in the last 30+ years. There's no way you can deny it.

Because the west has become more secularized (good) and the church has less power (good) to dictate other people's speech (good). Also none of these American "anti-Christian" tv shows or movies come even close to what Luther wrote about the Pope

Your pic speaks for itself. Christianity was at a cultural zenith, the large majority of Americans identified as actively Christian and defended it. Large works (in Hollyisraelite of all places) were dedicated to Biblical stories. Christians weren't on the defensive at all, they were at the top.

Fast forward to now, active Christians are a minority and Christianity is endlessly parodied and criticized in media. They are well on their heels, and those movies reflect that.

dividing the church Catholic and Orthodox was okay, but now you have a bazillion WASP sects claiming they're true Christians.

More like the church was cucky and let israelites/lefties/atheists erode their influence in every political and cultural corner possible until they were a shell of their former self. Islam would have never allowed that kind of subversion, it's just a bug in mega tolerant "turn the other cheek" Christianity.

Protestant Evangelists reverted back to the cult stage of religion instead of being a pillar of society like Catholicism
Catholicism have the balls to be grand while Protestants are perpetually victims of the outside world

Part of this is a branding problem. The band Switchfoot for example found early success branding themselves as a Christian band. Later they moved away from that to try and get radio play outside of Positive Encouraging K-LOVE, when that dried up however they returned to selling themselves as Christian. I think these horrible movies Protestants make sell themselves in this Christian market because they aren't good enough to compete elsewhere. Did you know that theaters hold special one night only events for showings of these flicks? There's money in it, it's just a limited niche that they've cornered. Most of said niche is made up of people who have very low media literacy.
