>2003
Very specific year. Anything you can tell me about that?
Encompasses everyone below 20 currently alive, also the final piece of Columbo media was released that year.
he was born in 2002
because pretending to like rockford makes them think about their lame dads
The Rockford Files is so comfy I'm rewatching the first season right after finishing the whole series.
You could always say Simon and Simon - or Riptide.
great theme song and opening though
Zoomers try to fit in, its pathetic honestly
of course, of course, I just had to ask
well...I can see you're busy, so I better check in with the department
well, see ya
oh, just one more thing, you think a bunch of "zoomers", on an anonymous message board, are desperately trying to fit in with "millennial" and "boomers"?
on an anonymous board?
ok, I can't wait to see what the genres at the station think about that, g'bye sir, if I have any more questions I'll know where to find you...
nice cope
you could be eighty
you could be eighteen
but you've the cold eyes of an anon who's dead inside, dead from having their hopes dashed so many times, in such devastating ways
that's how I knew...you were trying to murder this thread...
...I have no proof? well, here's the funny thing sir...
i'd rather see people indulge in comfy Falk kino than tiktok dogshit or whatever the frick's the rage lately
>I get to gatekeep because.....because I just do, okay?!?
I was born in 2000 and just copped the complete series for $30, suck my dick
You're not even using the meme phrase "gatekeep" correctly.
Incel vibes, my man.
He is using the term correctly, and you have untreated autism.
No, that was correct anon. Are you a dummy?
And i can get the entire series for free. What of it zoomie?
Good for you but even though I like Columbo and Matlock I get bored actually watching them. I dunno must be my millennial attention span.
set the dial to murder she wrote
Is this really a problem for men?
I'm 24 going on 25, and love Columbo. I can watch them comfortably without doing anything else. My wife, same age, can't.
I can't help but view Columbo as an American vanity project, maybe I need more abstract Italianate detective mysteries
Imagine, unironically image not having watched Columbo
Becuase I watched 2 episodes and I liked what I saw, but wouldnt marathon it
because its good and they are aware enough of this to feel the need to pretend to like it despite being morons
Columbo is so comfy i cant even explain it
Because it's good. Poirot too. Gonna cry?
It's like Doctor Who for people who don't like thinking
unbelievably remo take and beyond pleb tier
is this bait?
Not at all
>Both shows have a main character that can do anything and always comes out on top
>Both shows have a main character that befuddle and confuse the antagonists who proceed to underestimate him or regard him as the ultimate threat
Whereas Doctor Who tells actual stories with the concept and challenges the audience, Columbo spells out the mystery in big bold letters and forces you to be railroaded along with the main character as he solves something you already know.
Columbo does not respect the audience or their time.
>Whereas Doctor Who tells actual stories with the concept and challenges the audience,
OI GUVNOR I'LL JUST USE ME SONIC SCREWDRIVER WHAT DOES LITERALLY ANYTHING THE PLOT NEEDS, CHEERIO
2deep4me
>2003
Zoomers start in 1996.
zoomer cope
No, it’s millennials who want to be zoomers cope
literally nobody wants to be a zoomer or a millennial
I'm 23 and started watching Columbo this year
And how did you find it?
Why?
Murder She Wrote >>>>>>>>>>
It's very comfy, especially compared to the incredibly depressing psychological crime dramas I grew up with. I'm on season two right now and I have to say Double Shock is the worst episode of the series so far. Really fricking bad honestly, I'm honestly a bit pissed off.
What's wrong with double exposure?
Columbo ended in 2003. They have the right
its fine
this, it's not as good as it's made out to be
it feels like normie millennials trying to make memes, and it caught on with zoomers because everything catches on with zoomers
they didn't air the bad episodes on syndication so its known for quality.
I worked at an old folks home for a bit and it had a theater inside with chairs and everything and all the residents ever watched was Columbo and they liked it when you hung out with them and watched it so it grew on me.
>you can't watch a series from before you were born
How many of them actually watch it? They just pretend to have seen it so they can fit in with the older more mature people, when actually they’ve only seen a few youtube clips and memes
>dear mr boom boom i just looked up and watched those things you like, are we cool now?
>noooooo frick ooooooffff
That is literally a fundamental part of the zoomer mindset though. Anything before Obama was elected is the equivalent to the dark ages. I pity them really since that's how they've been brainwashed to think almost religiously.
But this thread is literally about zoomers watching a show from before they were born. I don't get it, are you for or against this?
Miami Vice
it’s a good show, no one is pretending
always liked Hawaii Five-O more though
the show sucked honestly the remake movie is way better and way more kino
pleb
false
Millennials had Miami Vice reruns growing up in the 90s & early 2000s since the show only ended in 89. Plus they had GTA Vice City as one of their cultural touchstones. It's not completely out of place in the same way Columbo is for zoomers.
Miami Vice is firmly Gen X, there's nothing millennial about it whatsoever. Reruns don't count, that's like saying I'm a baby boomer because I watched The Flintstones on Boomerang as a kid.
No one cares about Gen X.
FRICK YOU MAN
Because it's nice to see a white California.
Columbo is a people of color
Now i will watch Columbo, also Boston Legal
LA Law is pretty fun too. but it's not a detective show I guess. I guess the word "legal" just reminded me of it.
And I still can't find season 2 of LA Law online so I might end up having to buy the goddamn DVD set on eBay for 20 bucks. what a ripoff
Because it's good and very memeable
None of you b***hes is watching McCloud or the Snoop Sisters
1. It was shot on film so they can easily make an HD version. Many shows cut their budget so they were shot on video tape, keeping it to a kind of low resolution forever.
2. It was a movie of the week show, meaning it had much higher production values.
3. The setting is about rich people murderers. It avoids any divisive social issues and rich people fashion has largely unchanged.
4. The show is very laid back and just about talking. It's not an action show. Women love this shit.
moron
oh man, I saw Maude the other day and it looked like shit because they shot it on video.
thing is the tards making "HD" scans crop it to shit, I'd rather watch it in the proper broadcast format in low resolution than HD with 30% of the scene cropped off the top and bottom
wait they actually take old shows and make them ""HD"" by cropping the fricking 4:3 SD frame to 16:9 for HD displays? holy fricking cringe
yeah they're a buncha morons. that's why I end up having to download the lower resolution episodes of stuff because they're not cropped
Colombo sucks
lmao no
Yeah, it does
>Everyone online suddenly starts discussing columbo in depth and.msking memes and YouTube essays about it
Yeah this is totally organic and natural dialogue.
I honestly feel sorry for you zoomies
columbo is great we should watch columbo more often
In all honesty I’m a bit glad they’re watching older shows because it kind of destroys the narrative of some users here that “zoomers don’t watch shows before the 21st century.” Also it’s good
It doesn't destroy that because they still don't watch them. They watch recap and reactions videos on youtube.
People born during or after 2003 are a myth
>that episode where he's investigating the mensa type group
>'here i was, among some of the smartest people in the world and i never wouldve guessed it'
kek, nice burn columbo
That whole episode he was just dogging on those genius morons left and right. Jamie Lee Curtis puts in an appearance as a waitress too.
Its too hot bros, im drying
i wouldn't mind zoomers being into older stuff if it wasn't this aping of the inescapable millenial hivemind thing that they're all plugged into. like the current hivemind focus is WALKABLE WALKABLE WALKABLE WALKABLE and in 2020 it was the sopranos, i cant even remember how many flavor of the week/month things you fricks have gone through because of shit trending on twitter
>cant even remember how many flavor of the week/month things you fricks have gone through
Its even worse for videogames. Even when they are told it will be dead in a month they say "so im enjoying it with everyone for that month." Which is hard to argue against but when he keeps happening over and over again it just becomes sad. Zoomies yearn to be a part of something bigger than themselves.
>Zoomies yearn to be a part of something bigger than themselves.
Put me in the screencap!
Kids have always been slaves to trends. The reason the whole "if u rember dis ur childhood was awsum" shit exists is because everyone consumed the shit on TV, you had to keep up with your friend group. Only emotionally stunted adults escape the cycle because they have nobody to talk to, and thus they don't get the painful "oh you didn't see the latest capeshit movie?" watercooler conversations.
>they don't get the painful "oh you didn't see the latest capeshit movie?" watercooler conversations
i think you might be the weird stunted one if this is somehow painful for you bro, unironically just be yourself nobody really cares and if they actually care about capeshit then why would you care about them
It's not capeshit, it's everything. All adults consume the same goyslop, and it's hard to find common ground if you're a human being so you haven't owned a television in over a decade.
I hate zoomers so fricking much
>people born in 2003 care about Columbo
Good for them honestly. I find it hard to relate to younger zoomers so if we can find common ground on anything I'll accept it. Being an Early Zoomer is weird.
this image is so pathetic because it's like "l-look guys we're cool he's wearing sunglasses haha"
stop letting us bully you and just ignore this generation shit, you're never going to convince anyone that you're not annoying cringe, you just have to wait 5-10 years for the next generation to be even more annoying and cringe (millenial strategy)
Now I know how millennials born in the early 80s felt about being lumped in with iPhone kids.
if you're claiming that there's a significant difference in two zoomers born in 99 and 02, only zoomers will see it because the older you get, the more the youth culture becomes an indistinguishable blob
>iphone kids
Iphone came out in 2008, only zoomies were kids then. Milldogs were minimum 16
14 year olds in 2008 were millennials. A 14 year old iPhone user qualifies as an "iPhone kid".
14 year olds are zoomers no matter the year
iphone was 07 and most people didn't really have smartphones until 2010 or later, i didn't get one until 2012. what the frick is this revisionist history people come up with where iphones were immediately ubiquitous on release? it took years for there to even really be a good number of useful apps, iphones 07-09 were basically le zippo lighter app and safari/twitter
I dunno, i remember being excited for a phone that had a keyboard in like 2010.
90's were the last kino years to get born in. in my headcannon the zoomer timeline starts in 2000 and onwards
fun fact : Peter Falk had a role in Shark Tale (2004). He played the leopard shark who sings Wind Beneath my Wings and also delivers the fart joke of the film
Peter Fart
Cinemaphile:
>"I hate these gosh darn kids for only watching new stuff. Why don't those youngun's ever watch good old stuff like me?"
Kids:
>Watch good old stuff
Cinemaphile:
>"REEEEEE STOP IT! WE OWN THESE SHOWS, YOU CAN'T WATCH THEM YOU ZOOMER!!!"
The same thing happened with Clone High. Why do you try to gatekeep these old shows but still want kids to watch them?
No one cared about the old Columbo show, only the specials, because they had celebrity guests stars. Zoomies are like The Thing, doing this weird pretending to be human shit that you can see through. If the YouTube algo dropped Columbo memes tomorrow zoomies would completely shut up about it too.
I watched almost all the Columbo episodes
they were comfy
why, are you writing an article you fricking homosexual?
He learns about old tech and uses it to trap bad guys in their own deceit
They don't have learning channels anymore everyone is a frickin moron now
William Shatner is my favorite killer
in the show too
It's a good show and a good character.
what were they thinking?
i like that one, it was the only one (i remember) where you didn't know who the killer was after the middle, nice twist
Is it worth watching through this series? 13 seasons is a lot.
Bear in mind most seasons only have three or four episodes. They were released as TV movies-of-the-week.
I hate that these threads are always just people b***hing about zoomers, Columbo is a great show.
pick an episode that has an actor you like as the killer/villain, and see if it's good. there's no overarching plot, not exactly rocket science here
I was born in 94 and never heard of this show until this year. I suspect most of the under 20 year olds on Twitter pretending like they've always loved this show have also never heard of it until this year.
also 94 and only knew colombo was a detective from hearing it referenced at some point but i thought it was a detective character from a noir 70s movie, never saw or heard of the show
I think it was referenced on The Simpsons and Family Guy a lot.
That's how most people born after 2000 know about TV from their parents' generation.
For some reason, all zoomers love Family Guy. And I mean ALL, or at least most. Every zoomer I've talked to in the past decade was obsessed with Family Guy.
Family guy is one of the only 'adult' things to binge watch on disney+, i wouldn't be surprised if over half the userbase was just zoomers watching family guy.
it's literally and unironically because of a youtube guy doing columbo impersonations with twitter parodies of columbo meeting other pop culture figures
Qrd?
https://youtube.com/shorts/16CKjELxHhg
literally only correct answer in this thread, everyone else is talking to the boogeymen living in their heads
finally correct, hate zoomers and hate homosexual gianni
Black person please point to the zoomers watching Columbo.
How do you not find his show comfy? It's just good tv.
This would be based if they were paying homage but its all irony with these punks, never a sincere moment a day in their lives. I feel bad for them.
homie don’t act like Columbo is in the same vein of zoomers liking Evangelion or Lain or X-Files.
It’s not like it gets meme’d halfway as often, plus the earliest seasons are very 70s dry, zoomers ain’t into that.
Plus Columba’s comfy, everyone should watch it. Perfect crime show. Gimme that shit over CSI any day.
there are literally Columbo maymays on tiktok
Columbo’s always been a bizarre black hole of cultural reference where people mention it, but 99% of them mentioning it aren’t watching it.
Its like saying “hey nice work Columbo” as a turn of phrase. I heard that a lot before even knowing what Columbo was.
Then again I don’t use TikTok so i dont have a fricking clue what zoomers do there, I do know they just copy shit for the fun of it despite not knowing anything about what they’re copying.
Zoomers like lain?
Why do none of them move on to the superior series made by the same people?
zoomers like lain? what the frick
What's not to like about Columbo?
>Charismatic lead
>Interesting premise
>Reverses the standard whodunnit formula
>Villains are usually played by renown character actors
>Columbo is interesting to follow around
For me, it's Try & Catch Me, from season 7.
>that's right, Lieutenant, I couldn't have been at the scene of the murder because I was at home, playing video games on my PS3.
columbus: then lets see trophies and im messaging youre psn friends to see when they saw you log in
It never stops being funny.
You know that actor got drunk, passed out in bed with a lit cigarette, and burned to death? Yes, it's not just a myth.
They did this, but with an XBox, in Law & Order UK.
I was born in 1989 but why would they need to pretend? It's a good show.
have they seen it?
it's not exactly from my time (I was born in 1983) but I still watched it a lot in my childhood, so it's good to rewatch it again
I started watching it recently and I was born in the 90s
probably because their favorite youtuber mentions it in their videos.
people started all the parody memes like a year ago and columbo is free on tubi so a ton of people, not just zoomers, went and watched it
columbo has always been really comfy
nowadays a lot of people seem to appreciate the slower pace compared to every recent show that tries to be an action drama soap opera constantly
Growing up everyone called my dad columbo, both in the way he looked and the absent-mindedness I suppose. I've never seen this series, what do they mean by this?
the most unprecedented, titanic episode of television ever filmed
> 134 replies
> not one posted the zoomer columbo copypasta
disappoint
>columbo script but with fr no cap bussin bruh sheesh
so funny lol i love when they put the funny words into a scenario
> pretending
Why don't you pretend to have good taste?
Anyone can like columbo homosexual
Zoomers only love Columbo literally because all his criminals are white elites and they think it's pro-Commie because Columbo is a working class schlub who puts them behind bars
Are zoomers trying to ruin columbo with their dumb tiktoks or something?
I grew up watching Columbo. I'm not old my grandparents just loved it. That and Quincy MD. I was really surprised to find out Columbo is popular with young people now. But I don't think they know why they like it.
The one with my boy Cassavetes... GOD LORD BLYTHE DANNER HAD SOME MEGA WATT DUSTY BLUES
It's likely just that a new generation is finding it. There's re-runs on broadcast tv stations, and at least last I checked, it was something Peawiener had available for watching without a subscription (but with ads). It's been especially easy to re/watch in the past few years.
I was born in 95 and my sister 99. Columbo was my moms favorite show so lot of fond memories of watching it with her while I drew in my notebook.
Now I have to move on to Nero Wolfe to have a more obscure, comfy detective show to keep feeling superior to the rabble.
This show seems like it could be go-
>made in the 1960s
Nevermind, it's a snoozefest
you're telling me the kids like Columbo now? I guess they're gonna turn out just fine

KODAK R&D 1971-1994

The episodes from the 60s/70s are absolutely kino. The cash-grab stuff from the 90s/00s are sad and pathetic and should never have been made. They almost ruined the legacy.
I mean what shows would rather zoomers be watching? I would rather them watching something legitimately good like Columbo than utter garbage like Euphoria
Zoomers should stop appropriating Gen X culture. That was the whole point of the thread.
>appropriating
Not a real thing
because he hates cops and says trans rights
>american zoomers see photos of the streets of foreign countries for the first time
i heckin hate cars!!! walkable!!!
I'm born 1997 and we had a "classics" channel for a few years so I watched many of the non-'90s episodes there. Very comfy show to watch with family on a normal weekday evening together with your family.
so was columbo acting?
No. They were real cases.
